Ruiz Mexican Restaurant

Best. Mexican. Ever. When a restaurant has been around for a couple of years, it's pretty good. When a restaurant has been around as long as Ruiz, it's phenomenal. Ruiz has been doing Mexican food right, before Mexican food was cool. We got guacamole and chips for starters. You can get creamy or chunky: We went with creamy and it was lights out. And the chips were flour, not corn, and salted to perfection. The steak quesedilla was epic. And it came with spur cream, Pico and guacamole. Not that they were needed, as the queaedilla was perfection in a tortilla. Get the Mexican corn as a side!!! There were no complaints on the chicken chimichanga and steak tacos, either. Our only complaint is all other Mexican places pale in comparison, so we will be disappointed every time.lol. Like I said, there's a reason Ruiz has been around for as long as they have. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and check them out.

This little gem had incredible food. I was told the tamales were a must and they delivered. The exterior was well prepared and the interior filling was well balanced to the masa. It's definitely one of the better tamales I've had in a restaurant. The tostada was quite delicious and the carne asada tacos were pretty dang good. Margaritas were tasty and flowing. If you're near the area don't pass this place up.

I have been coming here since I was a baby and it is still just as delicious. The best enchiladas I have ever had anywhere! The shredded beef in their dishes is so tender and flavorful, most Mexican places around town use bland ground beef that is barely palatable. Their tamales are awesome as well, so much flavor in the chicken or the pork (my favorite). If you have never tried this St. Louis treasure, you’re missing out and should go immediately!

My husband and I are new to North County, so we have been trying to find new places to eat. We came across this place just in passing, and we decided to give it a shot. This is our new favorite Mexican place ever! The chips and salsa are fantastic! We could tell the building was newly renovated, and it was so beautiful! The menus are not a flimsy plastic, but rather a solid board, so they are very modern and nice to handle. Our waitress was SO kind to us and our daughter, and very knowledgeable on adult drinks. Everything was SO delicious, and we cannot wait to come back and try more menu items!

Wonderful place for classic Mexican food. Highly recommend the Guacamole Poblano. The tamales are delicious, too.

The food was great and the service was even better! My cousin Frank was a regular there and he recently passed away. They accommodated our family and allowed us to stay a little past closing time. They even gave us a free shot in remembrance of our loved one. We truly appreciate everything and we will continue to patronize Ruiz as we always have.

This place was amazing. The food was very flavorful. The staff was so nice and helpful. They have so many salsa options and the queso was really good. The atmosphere was beautiful and the pitcher margarita was the best!

I told the manager that I was going to give 4.5 stars because they didn't have sopapillas, but I just can't do that. I had the carne asada tacos and they were AMAZING! The grilled beef was perfection.

I went again and tried the tostada, tamale, and fried taco. All of them were great. My friend had the combo fajitas and oh my!!!! Sooooo good!

My wife and I travel approximately 30 miles to Ruiz Mexican Restaurant in Florissant many times a month. We’ve been doing this for nearly 40 years.
Their food and service has always been exceptional and we recommend this restaurant numerous times to other family members and friends.
The melted cheese burritos plate and the tamales plate are our favorites.
We’ve eaten at many Mexican restaurants here in the US and in Mexico and we cannot think of a better restaurant than Ruiz Mexican Restaurant in Florissant, Mo!

Me and my husband ate at Ruiz for the first time, one of his friends recommended it. I enjoyed the food the atmosphere and their service so much that I brought my daughters back for our girls night that same week. Every thing was as equally impressive as the first.

Allie (sp) was our server at the bar and she went above and beyond to ensure we got what we ordered, was able to help with questions on menu items; the food was amazing, fresh and flavorful, they have salsa options, I went with Abeula's and it was fantastic!! the Steak Quesadillas were perfectly marinated and cooked.....will definitely be coming back.

Was the first time in this restaurant and the place was nice. A family friendly area, with a choice of outside eating or inside. The food was excellent and my waitress was very helpful.

This is one of our family get together restaurants. We have been eating here with family for decades! We are currently here celebrating a birthday. Although the employees have changed over the years the food tastes the same. This has been family owned for many years and we even tried their other location recently but this location will always be the most special to us.

Best Mexican restaurant in the region!! We travel across the river 3-4 times a month to eat here. They even have clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options. 🌱❤

The place is newly remodeled. We were seated immediately. The server brought our drinks and our food was brought out quickly. It was delicious. Everything was flavorful and fresh. I will be back. The waitress was knowledgeable regarding vegetarian options.

Food and service are always great! We love to order takeout from Ruiz and support local business! We love the pepitos with chicken, refried beans, Mexican corn, and guacamole.

This long time local restaurant is an absolute favorite of my family! Some of the best tamales(pork, chicken, veggie and a vegan sweet potato) around. The pork being my personal favorite. The vegan being my best friend's, and my sister's favorite tamale. The salsas are all fantastic. The fajitas are favored by my brother. My dad loves the chimichanga. The pepito is beloved by my mom. They have Tamale Man frozen tamales available to cook at home. Love to eat at the restaurant. They recently did a gorgeous update on the interior and it looks fab! And they have fantastic curbside/to go service. Employees are lovely folks and are delightful. Extremely helpful.

Wow! Fantastic Mexican restaurant! We loved the dinner and the atmosphere was perfect. Some of the best customer service I have had in a long time. The food was authentic and had great flavors. I loved the house salsa, very fresh and not bland. Everything was nice and the remodeling is prefect.

I have been frequenting this location for 50 + years with the food and experience always the best. Can't find anyhting to match it.
