Right off Hwy 41 between Fairmont and Lumberton nestled in a wooded area is this quaint rustic restaurant oozing with character and charm and unbelievably low prices. The food was amazing. Unfortunately they're only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays so call or Google the place to make sure they're open.

This is the real deal. Delicious Carolina style BBQ and great fried chicken. Probably everything is great but I only tried the bbq and chicken.

The service was friendly and welcoming.

The atmosphere has to be seen to be appreciated. Country kitsch ?? at its finest. I could have spent hours exploring the decorations.

Highly recommended.

Great service. Wonderful food. I love the grandpa’s barn/cabin feel. 3 yr old loves the stuffed animals. Other folks eating in felt like family.

Something special! The food, the space and service are great.
The bbq is King but the other options are also note worthy.
Pic here is a fried catfish with all the “fixing’s.”

A charming, multi-generational, family-run restaurant operating from their converted tobacco barn.

Chicken is fried to order and perfectly done. Hush puppies are great, and served with honey butter. Served 3 piece chicken with two sides and a large basket of hush puppies and a drink for $12 total, surprisingly inexpensive on a Friday night.

Service was friendly, and enjoyed hearing the family’s history. Looking forward to returning. Thank you!

After a long day in the road, you really appreciate a nice dinner. I read the reviews and gave it a try. I sure am glad we did!! This is a rustic little log cabin place, with so many interesting things to look at. And the food was terrific. Freshly made to order, so tasty. I had fried chicken breast and wing, best ever. My husband had fried shrimp and he raved about each bite. He also enoyed the bbq. Like other reviewers, it was enjoyable to learn the story of this place. The family that has had this through the years quite obviously takes pride in the good thing they have going. We are just passing thru on the way back to PA, but sure hope to visit again.

Excellent service & food. Locally owned and operated for many years by the same family. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Like many small businesses, they may be understaffed -- but again, very friendly and helpful.

Like eating at Grandma's if your grandma is the best cook in the world! Great BBQ, fried chicken, hushpuppies, slaw and the bbq sauce is a mix of eastern and western style. Sweet with a little kick and vinegar based. Definitely will be back!

My traveling father instilled in his kids, "Avoid the chains. Eat locally to support small businesses and get an idea of the area." I live by this motto AND have taught my son the same. My father's spirit was with me yesterday as I visited Lumberton NC where he once lived and taught. Family-owned Roy's Country Corral is a blessing to a weary traveler. Not only because of the eclectic atmosphere of Indian artifacts, local memorabilia, and family photos within a log cabin, this dining joint is welcoming! The hostess's smile and joyful seating manner, to the server's beauty and attentiveness, even if the food wasn't delicious, I would have stayed. I sat next to a table of 8; locals discussing the well-being of their neighbors while enjoying fried catfish, pork chops, and delicious looking chicken. Encouraged by the aroma, I ordered the BBQ Pork Platter asking to substitute the fries for hushpuppies. Hushpuppies are meant to be sweet fried corn pillows to balance the BBQ and hot sauce southerners must use. WONDERFUL puppies at Roy's! Coleslaw passed my requirements too -- YUMMY! The plentiful platter of pork was moist, flavorful, and a little bit of char for those crunchy niblets! YES! But the piéce de résistance was the double cheeseburger! I bought it for my traveling companion so it was To-Go! When he opened the package, he freaked! This burger is hand-crafted yumminess! As big as four Big Macs (!) but in contrast, Roy's burger tastes like real burger meat (!) surrounded by gooey, melted cheese. And without asking the kitchen dressed it with tomato, lettuce, mayo AND coleslaw! He LOVED it proving Chef knows best! Why any Lumberton-er or traveler would buy fast food or try to be satisfied anywhere else, I can not comprehend their logic! What a great surprise! Visit Roy's Thursday to Thursday to Saturday! Fun, filling, and delectable! Thank you, Wanda & the Saturday crew!

This was our first time here. We were passing through and read great reviews on this place. Such a cute little family restaurant! You get the backwoods country feel all throughout. Service was amazing! If you're looking for speedy food, probably not the place for you. It took a little while to get our food which was expected with it being a tiny family restaurant. We of course didn't mind the wait! The food was delicious and hot! The staff were so nice and very observant. We will definitely stop back by when we travel through the area again! Oh, and get extra hush puppies! I am NOT a hush puppy fan but those hush puppies were so good! Especially with the honey butter 😋

Great pulled pork, wonderful coleslaw & hush puppies. She is not serving inside, take out only. We used the tailgate. Beautiful day. The owner is very sweet & accomodating.
