I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Mickens. Office staff are very friendly and were able to get me in quickly. He has a wonderful, calm bedside manner and was attentive to my comfort. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone requiring a root canal!

My dentist recommended that I see an endodontist for a root canal and I booked an appointment with Dr. Mickens. Words can't adequately express how grateful I was for Dr. Mickens and his team. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Dr. Mickens was absolutely amazing. He took his time explaining the entire process, and assured me that my root canal would be painless. He continued to fill me in on everything he was doing throughout the entire procedure. I've had several root canals over the years and this is the first one that was TOTALLY painless. To my surprise, I didn't need to take any pain medication after the procedure. I even received a followup call from Dr. Mickens the next day, checking to see how I was doing. Dr. Mickens, is absolutely the BEST! You can tell from the first moment you meet him that his goal is to make you comfortable and give you world class care. Thank you Dr. Mickens!

I found out today I needed a root canal and was referred to Dr. Mickens. It was amazing he could see me the same day. He was very pleasant as well as his staff. It was a great expierence...Painless as possible and he made sure that I was comfortable. He walked me through everything and I chatted with the staff. It feels like family! I recommend him to anyone taht needs a root canal...I'm very thankful.

Great experience! Maria at the front was so thoughtful recommending earplugs during my root canal because of how nervous I was and Dr. Mickens was very accommodating. I'm a nervous wreck about any sort of dental work getting done. He even called the next day to follow up. Will definitely come back here for any future work!

I was referred to Dr. Mickens, and this gentleman is the BEST!! I came in thinking I needed a root canal, previously told by my former dentist. The first thing he asked was…. Who told you that you need a root canal? Dr. Mickens completed 4-5 root canal pretests, and I passed them all. He said… You DO NOT need a root canal. If you start having trouble, come back, and I’ll check your teeth. I followed up with my dentist and got a filling; that was the WORST thing I could’ve done! I noticed the pain was getting worse. I went to the hospital due to the dull throbbing pain in my jaw, gums, and ear ringing. I went to an oral surgery to check my back tooth because the pain was not subsiding. By the time I called Dr. Mickens, I was in excruciating pain. I know I used about three bottles of Anbesol at home and work. The look on Dr. Mickens’s face when he saw me. I told him everything, but before he did another pretest. I passed everything except for the cold test. At that moment, I could feel the tears forming. Dr. Mickens worked me in right then and there. As soon as the root canal was completed, I felt better and was in pain, but not the previous pain. I was so appreciative of him and his amazing staff. They all made me feel comfortable. The next day, he called to check on my progress, something he did not have to do. His bedside manner was impeccable; he walked you through everything he was doing. I referred my coworker to Dr. Mickens a few weeks after my root canal. She was a ball of nervousness until speaking with him. Bless you, Dr. Mickens, for having the heart and professionalism of an angel. I would highly recommend Dr. Mickens.

I found here expertise and client needs in focus perfectly blended together. DR took care of issue others did not want to take on. If you want your health to be handled by experts who know what they are doing, it is your place.

I was a bit nervous initially with the office location, but Dr. Mickens is extremely experienced and you can tell he genuinely cares. He did my root canal extremely quickly and efficiently, I was amazed! He explained every part of the process that he did and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Awesome!

I recently had a root canal done at Mickens Endodontics in Greensboro, NC. It was an excellent experience! I felt comfortable from the moment I stepped in the door. The team was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure I was well informed and at ease throughout the entire process. The office was also very clean and modern…Everything was taken care of quickly and professionally.

Dr. Mickens was very thorough and knowledgeable. I felt like I was in good hands from the initial consultation to the actual root canal procedure itself. He explained the entire procedure in detail and made sure I understood everything before we got started. He also took the time to answer any questions I had.

During the procedure, Dr. Mickens was gentle and thorough and he made sure I was as comfortable as possible. He even walked me through the process, which put me at ease. His “bedside manner” was exceptional.

After the initial root canal, which lasted less than an hour, the staff was also helpful and friendly. They made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. They also followed up with me later to make sure I was doing okay and to makes sure I did everything correctly for the second appointment to complete the procedure. (The second appointment lasted less than 30 mins and required no pain medications during or after the procedure.)

Overall, my experience at Mickens Endodontics was excellent! The team was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The procedure itself was done quickly and expertly and I am no longer in any pain. The tooth feels 100% back to normal. In fact, I keep forgetting I even had the procedure done at all!

I would highly recommend Mickens Endodontics if you are looking for a true root canal specialist. If you are currently in pain or require a root canal, call Dr Mickens! I’m sure there are other root canal specialists out there, but you may be taking a chance to find out if they are good or not. However, based on my experience, I can tell you that Dr. Mickens is one of the best in the business and he’s worth the drive, even if you have to come from Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, or surrounding areas…And if you live in Greensboro or one of the Piedmont Triad areas, definitely, stop what you are doing and give Dr Mickens a call now. He will get you right!

I am not an easy patient to any dentists, due too some conditions. This office was AMAZING! From the front desk to the staff and doctor. They were able to work me in from a referral very quickly. However they did receive my xray prior to visit they did do only the ones necessary for their treatment. I have always had issues
with xray but this young lady went
beyond the job. The Dr verified that is was the right tooth and tried everything to save me from a root canal.He did a great job in helping understand why I needed it and how to try to prevent more. He worked fast while keeping me comfortable during the process. He even helped me get into another dentist in my network for a crown while I was in his chair. I had been trying from months. I cant say enough about this practice they are one of a kind office.

Dr. Mickens and his staff are excellent. He has a calm pleasant office. I felt no pain during my root canal. Dr. Mickens kindly and thoroughly evaluated and then explained his procedure to save my broken tooth. He was gentle and reassuring throughout the process. I highly recommend this office.

Dr. Mickens evaluated my tooth and saved me a root canal. He could have done the procedure without me ever knowing it wasn’t actually needed. I found him to be honest and kind. His staff were very friendly and calming. If, in the future, I need a root canal, he will certainly be my choice.

Beyond professional staff. On time. Dr. Mickens doesn't keep you waiting. He provides you with step by step instructions and services that top notch and necessary. Thank you for a root canal that was pleasant. Wow! Who would think root canal and pleasant go together.If I ever need Endodontoist treatment again Dr. Mickens is the answer.

I have been coming to Dr Mickens for a couple of years, because the previous referral my dentist had was less than stellar! But what sets Dr. Mickens above others is his personal care! I like most am very anxious when having drills and scrappers in my mouth, but Dr Mickens takes the time to walk me through the process and ensure that I am comfortable rather than just rushing me & saying "calm down & allow me to work". And even after the care Dr. Mickens calls personally after a day or so to ask how I felt & how treatment is going and if I had any questions or concerns! That is the 5 star treatment in my opinion!

I had a root canal done today and was very pleased with Dr. Mickens and his staff. He made sure I understood what he was doing every step of the process. I didn’t experience any pain during the root canal and very little later in the day. Dr. Mickens explained post surgery follow up and said he would call tomorrow to see how I was doing. I would highly recommend Dr. Mickens and his staff!

Dr. Mickens and his staff are amazing! I had a root canal placed a couple of years ago but I still remember how great Dr. Mickens was during the procedure. Him and the assistant working on me made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Mickens explained each part of the procedure while making sure I was comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and great at what he does! I recommend him any chance I get. Ty Dr. Mickens and staff! :)

Dr. Mickens is very thorough and kind.. He also has a very welcoming staff and a nice waiting room area! I thought I needed a root canal today but he assured me that it wasn't the best thing to do right now and my concerns were put to rest. I would highly recommend him for root canal consultations!

Dr Mickens is hands down one of the best medical professionals I have ever visited. He has an incredibly pragmatic approach to evaluating treatment to what you need, and not what you don’t need.

I am a pansy when it comes to any sort of dental procedure, so when I needed my first root canal, I was very apprehensive. I read a lot of the reviews from other patients, but here is my experience:

Dr Mickens and his staff are very realistic and seem to understand that most people would rather be dealing with the folks over at the IRS than be sitting in that chair getting their teeth drilled. So to put you at ease, they do a phenomenal job at first making you feel comfortable, and then explaining exactly what you will be feel and when you will feel it (I.e. you will feel a pinch here and pressure there).

Dr Mickens made sure that there was ample time from when he first administered the first shot of anesthetic to the second one, and then gave it plenty of time to take effect.I have had issues in the past where I wasn’t completely numb prior to getting fillings done, but the way Dr Mickens did it worked perfectly as I did not feel a thing throughout the entire procedure. The entire time I was waiting for the drill to hit the right spot to send me flying through the roof, but it never happened. I honestly felt stupid afterwards because I was scared over nothing.

After he was done, billing was quick and easy. The staff already had everything worked out with insurance so I paid and was out quickly.

Once I was home I took over the counter Excedrin once, and that was sufficient. That has since worn off and I feel fine, no swelling and no pain. Your post procedure experience May be different, but i hope it’s as easy as mine is.

To sum this up, I can not recommend Dr Mickens enough. He is professional, friendly, and takes the time to make sure you are comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone I know. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do someday I’d fly across the country to get it done in his office. Thank you!

I want to send a shout-out to Dr. Mickens and his staff. This was the best I mean the best dentist appt. ever in life. Dr. Mickens and his staff was super nice I actually felt like I knew already been there before. Today I was referred to get a root canal and I was scared but there was no pain at all. Dr. Mickens told you minute to minute everything he was doing. His attitude was perfect because believe me I asked a lot of questions. And he answered every question politely. And once again his nurse was the one who put the icying on the cake. The nurse was so nice and always saying "you will be okay." I know I worried his nurse with questions too. She was amazing.My review was based on my appt. And believe me he could have been a five star but he dont do crowns. But he still deserves all 5 stars. Thanks so much.
