Taqueria La Mexicana

Nice find for some hot and spicy Mexican food, at first it was hard to order in Spanish but now that I know the menu I get my Google Translate out ahead to get it right. Very good quality and quantity for the money. Come try it out

Everything we ordered was delicious
I got gorditas de asada and from the kids menú quesadillas and fries
Unfortunately the French fries tasted freezer burn, but Everything else was delicious. Also got horchata and it was good. My sister got guaraches and my brother-in-law got Texan fajita.

To put things simply, this place is Authentic. Tacos, Sopes, Tostadas de Camarón (Shrimp) or Pescado (Fish), Steak a la Mexicana, Camarón a la Diabla. Small inside, small staff, small menu. In the restaurant world this means great food. Please please please, don't let the "Yelpers" "Elite" stear you anywhere but here.

Real authentic Mexican food. I got 4 Carne asada tacos and Tamarindo juice and everything was very good.

Looks like a good old fashioned family owned Mexican restaurant. I feel like it's more authentic then the chain restaurants. Reminds me of home and I didn't have to make it myself. The front clerk was attentive and fast. He spoke both English and Spanish fluently which made me feel so much better about this place. It's off putting when you walk into a "Mexican" restaurant and no one speaks Spanish. I will be coming here often.

Fantastic food and such friendly service. Tex mex is good but this is an excellent fresh and authentic alternative. We are so glad we tried it. We will be back.

Coming from Charlotte where there is so many authentic places to choose from this is the best place we have had so far in SC. My husband who is from Mexico and super picky about his food actually liked this place. The mesera we had was super nice too. Definately recommend and will be coming here more often.

The most authentic Mexican restaurant in town. Awesome staff and food.

Food was delicious. Prices great. Employees are really friendly. They spoke Spanish and we speak English but it was all great and friendly and worked out beautiful. Will definitely go back. Everything tasted fresh and home made.

The waitress that served us didn’t speak much, of any, English. However the menu provides Spanish translations for all the items, so it caused minimal issue, although I’d recommend looking up translations for words like thank you, or to go box if you don’t know them. They were sure to check the order and ensure it was correct, and the food was prepared quickly and was delicious.

First time here, I ordered the corn tortilla chorrizo quesadilla, it comes with rice and beans. It was delicious and the price is just righ at $6. I can't wait to try some of their other dishes.

Susan’s review is PRECISELY why we decided to come here and she couldn’t have been more right! If you’re looking for authentic tacos, not Americanized bs, this one is off the charts. Rec the lengua. Not sure yet where it will land on our Chs Taco Map but it’s minimum 4/5 stars!

This is one of those small hole in the wall family owned type places. They are a treasure in deed between the authenticity and servings you get here you won't be disappointed. We absolutely love the chorizo burritos.

The best tacos I've had in SC, hands down. Super authenic and nothin else like them.

If you like Tiki Taco, You are going to love this place. Portions are bigger, service is on top of things and the food us just delicious, authentic Mexican goodness. Seating can accommodate about 30-40 people.

Great food. Authentic and spicy. Some of the best carnitas I've ever had. Very little English is spoken, so be prepared for that, but I'll absolutely recommend them.

Great authentic mexican food! Not the tex-mex that you usually see in Charleston. Their service is also superior. Ask for the fresh fruit juices like papaya, watermelon, hibiscus and pineapple. They also have horchata.

Amazing service. Make sure you bring google translate tho lol but they were very patient with us. Food is amazing.

Very nice place and the food was slamming very very good. It is also nicely positioned in the middle of a huge parking lot which makes it very easy to access from anywhere around it all the way around it from any side front or back.
