Greenhorn Park

There's actually 2 parts of the park. There's the Lower Greenhorn accessible by Ranch Road and the Upper Greenhorn which is accessible from Greenhorn Road. The lower area has a playground and the upper area has 2 playgrounds. Upper and Lower Greenhorn Park are separated by an old time miner's pond, which is now a reservoir. There's modern restrooms on both sides. The pond is stocked with fish and many good fish have been caught. Easy access and handicap parking available. There's a nice, paved walk way path connecting the 2 sides with a few historic buildings, old mining equipment including an old stamp mill. Lots of hiking trails that are anywhere from easy to challenging for all levels of hikers to adventure on. Lots of geese and sea gulls, an occasional deer and if you're lucky, you'll spot the Bald Eagle that resides there! Dogs must be on a leash. Great place to stop and have a picnic! Enjoy!

This place was really nice. I was traveling and decided to stop with my dog for a little bit. There's a small lake with lots of geese and ducks. There was also a play area for kids. My dog had plenty of room to run to play ball. There is also a path that goes around the lake, not sure if it's 360° though. There are areas where dog could jump in and go swimming.

Very nice park. It has a nice lake to fish in. Don't forget, July 2nd is free fishing day mark your calendars. Nice restrooms, picnic tables, gazebo with picnic tables. Trails and paved paths to walk. There are many forms of wildlife; squirrels, birds, seagulls, Canadian geese and goslins, and I saw one deer. There is also slides and a climbing area for children. I saw one goose that looked like it had a broken wing or two. Always keep pets on a leash so they don't injure wildlife. I hope someone can help the poor goose. He can't fly or hardly walk. I think dogs should be banned from this park.

We stopped at Yreka and had some time in the evening so found this via AllTrails. This place is a hidden gem. Parking lot was huge. There are many trails here but we just did the reservoir loop. Plenty of deer, Canada geese and other birds were easily seen. There is also a miners trail which has old mining equipment from the gold rush. The wood bridge on one side of reservoir was also neat. We spent an hour here.

I go here about 3 times a week for exercise on the extensive trails in the upper part of the park. All trails shows many trails deep in the back section off park boundary. Recently it's been quite icy but enjoyable.

Peaceful, lovely park with modern restrooms and two playgrounds. A nice place to take a break if you’re on a roadtrip!

There's a great playground! the younger kids' playground is fenced. Nice bathrooms. Beautiful walking trail around the lake, with covered bridges. We also saw 3 does, and 2 fawn right next to the playground.

We take everyone who comes to visit us to the hiking trails at greenhorn park. It has a little ghost town and wonderful walking and hiking trails! Fishing and wildlife is all around! It is beautiful all year round! Beautiful views and surrounding nature!

A wonderful park to take the family or to just go hiking.

This park is nice and quiet. It has a nice BBQ area, and playground. The restrooms are very clean and it's a wonderful place to walk your dog

Clean and beautiful playground for toddlers and a separate playground for bigger kids. Grassy areas with tables and bbqs. Lovely restrooms and it all looks well maintained. Will definitely come back whenever we're on the long drive to visit familya

Wonderful place to walk dogs, see geese and ducks on the water, see a bit of history of mining and enjoy the beauty of Mt. Shasta and creation. We enjoyed watching people fishing and had a relaxing walk around the reservoir.

It was a bit cold in the 30's today! I took some aerial footage with my drone and I have attached a photo which includes the Greenhorn Reservoir which has a walking trail around it.
