Hi-Lo Café

Never having been in this area but always having seen pictures of the majestic Mount Shasta I finally had an opportunity to travel through this beautiful region. And being a "child of the 70's" OF COURSE I had to travel to WEED and, just by chance, came upon this OASIS of food in this town!!!!
Greeted by some disturbingly friendly staff it was "home" instantly!!!!! And the breakfast was everything a famished traveler could have wished for. LUCKY LOCALS!!!!!
This was a great trip northbound and the HI LO was an unbelievably wonderful memory maker!

We arrived last night and had dinner here. It was so good we went back tonight again. Huge menu selection and the servings are really large! Everyone was so nice and pleasant. We will be eating there alot while we are in town. Can't wait to try the blackberry cobbler because they were out. My new favorite place. Not to mention the great view of Mt Shasta!

A retro blast from the past. Good food, lots of hot coffee refills, and friendly and prompt service. It’s a time tested formula and it works here. The hungry man’s breakfast was too much for one person so we split it. Watch out for the California bacon tax, though.

GREAT surprise! As a foodie I regretted only being able to eat one meal (well, half). Nestled in a classic looking motel, pot roast better than grandmas. Throw in a couple of nice wines and homemade cobbler, and I’m already planning my next trip so I can pass thru Weed and eat at this little cafe again. Plenty of room to park my truck and horse trailer across the street. If you have a choice, choose Hi-Lo Cafe! You will be very glad you did.

Service is very friendly and most patrons are as well. Descent food with an alcohol selection. The salad bar was fresh.

Patty #2 makes a mean White Russian! She didn’t know how to make them but we requested them, and they were the best we’ve had.

You are absolutely delightful!!! This was my 2nd time here, and I’ve enjoyed it both times. However, you are so sweet & you truly add to the experience. And, goodness gracious, you can seriously haul tail and handle a crowd. Thank you for helping me get my son to eat by splitting that B.L.A.S.T. for us. He enjoyed it immensely, and he’s quite stubborn. I won’t be up that way again until summer, but I’m coming back to look for you 🙏🏻💗🕊 Have a blessed day! And Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

Celeste was awesome! She was basically running the whole restaurant the day we came, the food was great, the service was even better. What a friendly wonderful woman. She deserves a raise for sure.

Great food. I had breakfast. Hubby had lunch. Omelette was typical diner fair. He had coyntry fried steak. He loved it. But the thing you must have are the shakes. Fantastik and reminesent of 50's quality and ample sample!! I will return again.

Angels own and work here!! We were supposed to just be passing through, but a big storm decided we would stay. I had mapped the only open restaurant closest and we arrived to what felt like heaven glowing from within. The storm was intense, but we entered and even though close to closing we were welcomed in and cared for. We were even more blessed to find out the food is delicious, the restaurant clean, and the staff reflects heart and pride. Even luckier for us, there is a motel associated with the restaurant that shares the parking lot and they had 2 rooms left! We got one. The next morning we woke to a winter wonderland of around a foot of snow..but to our surprise the restaurant was open and rocking! Part of the staff walked to work in horrid conditions to ensure the town was fed! Seriously, ANGELS!! The had smiles on their faces and took on wave after wave of customers pouring in with no place to go. (Including the staff from another local restaurant that closed for the day, even though 3 of them made it to work) Hats off to these people! We will tell everyone and go out of our way to go back again! Thank you!

Best food in town, just like your grandmother cooked it, especially the breakfasts. I eat here often and they are the nicest bunch of Americans I have ever met. Dennis says. Stay a while, and eat something it's all good. Back again this time I had to sandwich I forgot what kind of sandwich it was just have to look at the picture and guess I'll tell you this much it was delicious Dennis says five stars

Great cafe, great service. We weren't expecting much but wanted to eat before our 6 hour drive. We were so glad we did. We had the chicken fried breakfast, so good. Thank you Hi-Lo.

We stopped here on a Saturday morning, really didn't know what to expect. The cafe was not busy, it was clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and attentive, checking in with us and topping off coffee, water and seeing how we were doing. I had an eggs Benedict and my bride had a biscuit with sausage, egg and gravy. They were great. They came with potatoes, we chose home fries that had garlic, parsely and butter. We are all we could an brought the rest home. If you are passing through Weed on your way up or down 97 or 5, check it out. It's good.

This place was great! We stopped in on our way through Weed and they had some excellent food. I had a burger, nothing fancy, but I'm a simple man and it was very good. I'll definitely be stopping in next time I'm in the area. As an added bonus, they have a really cool sign. I had to get my camera out to get a picture of it.

This is a repeat visit.

Your one stop shop for Weed, CA. Good food, homemade desserts, menus with fun facts about the town, and souvenirs. It's conveniently next to the famous Weed sign and two gas stations. The servers were very friendly. It's adorable how proud they are of their imported orange juicer. The sweet potato fries came with honey mustard dip and it was delicious.

Best French Fries.... Yes! Seriously! Raven and the serve staff are excellent!

Thank you Hi-Lo for a great experience, the service was fast and friendly, food was perfectly prepared and plated. It was kind of sad that there wasn't many people there, I truly hope folks come in and try the new café changing owners is challenging but your doing great! Keep it up.
