Awesome place, and way underpriced. It's an excellent deal, and you should definitely visit. It's an amazing museum with tons of exhibits covering numerous time periods throughout the history of Siskiyou County. The exhibits are full of excellent information and are located on two levels both indoors and outdoors.

Outdoors there is a paved path, and indoors there is a seat that people who can't walk up the stairs can sit in to get. It's only $3 per person for adults and $1 per person for kids. It's open 10-3 Tuesday - Saturday.

We weren't sure what to expect when we visited since there wasn't a ton of information online, but we figured we'd take a chance for the price. We're glad we went. It was an awesome place, even the gift shop had all sorts of cool little things to purchase. We'll definitely be back!

Wonderful museum with great displays! You get to learn about the early Native American history in the area and also how the state of Jefferson started. There’s a great outdoor display that takes you through what it would’ve look like in the 1800s

This museum was worth the drive from Washington State to see. They have an inside museum, upstairs and down. A walk through of the outside museum was amazing to see. There's even a park behind the museum, I suggest you see that as well. I highly recommend you stop by and see if for yourself. Mr. & Mrs Jordan

Great collection of the “Golden City.” The display cases are interesting and well preserved. I had a pleasant experience during my visit.

Much larger than expected. There is an outdoor walkthrough area of the museum, as well as 2 floors of very well organized and displayed exhibits

Chaperoning a school field trip - not enough time to enjoy the rich history the museum provides. I will be back!

What a lovely little museum. The staff are super friendly and great with the kids.
There was a nice selection of artifacts from the local tribes, the trapper exhibits were interesting and of course the outside area with some lovely buildings that have been donated by various people.
It's definitely worth the small fee to look around.

Amazing place! Amazing people! Amazing exhibits!
This museum is a bargain at $3 per adult and $1 under 12. Clean and friendly with impressive research library. The exhibits are diverse but focused on life in the area. Native American area on the first floor has impressive artifacts on display related to the native peoples.
The upper floor has a train set with a reproduction of the town. It also boasts an impressive and just cool collection of guns from a range of periods.
The outdoor museum is fun. Compare the rules for teachers from 1872 to the ones from 1915.
Go with your kid and support the place. I’ll be there again next time I’m passing through.

Many preserved buildings of 19th century Siskiyou County: general store, one room school house, miner's cabin, two room home, stables, and so forth. Shows in great detail the rugged life of that era.

Inside the museum, exhibits on local native cultures, and history through WWII.

Well worth seeing, providing a sense of gratitude for the conveniences of modern life today.

Love this museum! Great new metal-art exhibit by Ralph Starritt right outside. Really professional displays inside that are interesting & relevant to this area. Fantastic outdoor village of old log cabins, store, church, schoolhouse, tractors, etc. They truly make history come alive! Can also access creek trail here. Woodpecker stayed close by for us to observe him. We enjoyed it all. Plan to return on a regular basis, for ourselves; as well as bringing visitors.

Really interesting museum. It's really honorable that they hire exclusively rehabilitated prisoners for their staff. They're all very knowledgeable. Overall, it's interesting that Disney would buy a place like this but I like what they've done with it. I highly recommend it!

Took my granddaughter, the out side was so fun and the onside Indian culture exhibit was the best.

I don't think I've been here in a year or two but the last time I went it is a very nice museum lots of history for Yreka and Siskiyou everything decorated in their is well done and for a small town like Yreka this museum is great just don't go there expecting it to be like the Museum of Academy science in San Francisco or something but it is great for some rustic old-time f e e l

In researching for a book, the staff and volunteers were incredibly helpful. A treasure trove of historical gems about the people and places of Siskiyou County. A great stop in Yreka and easy on/off from I5.

This museum has several interesting exhibits, including mining, railroad, Chinese Americans, Native Americans and the fur trade. Two hours well spent.
