Washburn Motel

I was so tired at 11 o'clock at night I did not want to bring all my luggage onto the boat down at the marina so I decided to get a room close by. I am very picky but when I walked in this small little cottage I was rather impressed by the knotty pine walls and ceiling's . very small but it makes you feel like you're in your own house and the cabin getaway . everything was very nice and clean towels were hung up very orderly coffee maker refrigerator sink nice good size bathroom with no windows right off the highway what more could you ask for!! probably the most comfortable bed I've slept on and so very neatly made with good firm pillows with an air conditioner right next to my bed ,cable TV to!!! I will be back!!

I was a little nervous pulling in because the cabins looked small, but looks are definitely deceiving.
The inside comfortably fits a queen, a futon, a cute little kitchen with breakfast bar and a bathroom. Everything was clean, comfortable and cozy.
This was a great place to stay for our family of 5, and we really appreciated how good the food from the bar/grill was. The fact that this was pet friendly was a definite plus.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat next time we're in the area

Better than we expected it to be. Very clean and nice inside the cabin. Good night's sleep. In room coffee maker with included coffee was a nice bonus. Owner made us feel welcome and accommodated us despite showing up very late at night. Would definitely recommend, and will stay again if in the area. Worth the extra 10 minutes drive from Ashland's many hotel options.

We couldn't find a room anywhere else and I'm happy we couldn't, the owner was a sweet lady, the cabins are nice,solid, spacious considering the outside looks small, clean, and accommodations were more than expected! I really liked them. The bar/grill owner was very friendly, and the food was good.

We loved it. Very clean and convenient, kitchenette, pet friendly, nice bar/restaurant on site.

Truly enjoyed my stay. Was good to be back. Love the area. So close to everything.

Small and cozy, but also clean and cheap. Would stay here again.

Love this place

GREAT temporary GETAWAY! I was planning on spending the day on MAdeline Island and in Bayfield so I actually showed up looking for a place on the fly (and very early.) Cabins are cozy with that great knotty pine look of the northwoods. The owner was very friendly and there were really nice touches to make you feel at home, like HOME-style towels and linens. Mine was one of the larger cabins and came with a full kitchen (stove, microwave, coffee machine and REAL coffee cups. This would make for an easy longer stay.) Because Washburn tends to shut down early, even Saturday traffic was not noisy. VERY good value if you just want a nice CLEAN woodsy place to stay for a night or two. I can't wait to get back there. Thank you for a great visit.

Rustic cabins yet nice. Very close to the Washburn marina for lake access. They have a bar and grill at the motel, food is very good. Loved the full sized coffee machine and real coffee cups too. Holiday gas one block away and grocery store a few blocks further.

Worn and torn exterior but inside was nice and clean. Room had half kitchen which was nice. Owners are very sweet and accommodating. Would stay again.

Very simple accommodations. Nice location with decent rates.

I like this little place, but it would get claustrophobic after a night or two. I wish they charged a little less and would add credit/debit card payment.

We stayed in cabin 1 on Aug. 3rd and found the furniture all needing replaced plus the mattress and pillows. There was a burn hole in one of the blankets and thought all the bedding didn’t look freshly washed.
It was clean for the most part but was a bit smelly. The windows were all open when we got there I think to hide the oder. I think the industrial carpeting may have needed cleaning.
The walls were freshly painted and had new ceiling tiles but there were big holes in the walls that weren’t patched and the bathroom door had a hole in it.
For what it was and for the cost it wasn’t a good value. I think when people are having trouble finding rooms this place will do. It had everything you might need including a kitchenette complete with microwave and coffeepot with a supply of stale coffee in a container. The shower was too small to really use as well.
Wouldn’t stay there again..

Long cold winter spent here.Dirty rooms,dirty carpets and a bed that seemed like iit was 100 yrs old.Owners were decent enough though. DOG FRIENDLY.
