I have dealt with a lot of building departments in Colorado and Westminster is easily one of the best. Their office is always very helpful and very easy to work with. And their inspectors are always fair and informative especially Glenn.

We've worked with many county and city departments for plan approvals and I was impressed with the courtesy and helpfulness of the city employees. Nice people.

The staff at the building department is very helpful and friendly. Many other building departments in the area could learn allot from Westminster.

I’m so glad my taxes go to pay state and city officials who spend more time writing rules to keep them from having to enforce laws and code rather than actually enforcing the laws. Law abiding citizens get bent over backwards to carry the community while you all doing everything in your power to protect the ne’er-do-wellers.

They don’t have to register their cars, there are laws to protect them from towing. They don’t have to leash their dogs, if you can’t catch them on camera and know their address there’s no way to enforce the law. You can’t make them clean up after their pets, because again unless the PUBLIC puts in the due diligence there is no way to enforce the law. People can literally destroy and deface public property and private property, but the likelihood of prosecution is slim to none. Your apartment can be unable to meet the needs of their residents, but so long as they can document their efforts the residents just get to keep paying despite actually being provided services on top of astronomical rent. YaY for liberal Colorado! You guys have it all figured out.

My goodness ! I just watched Denver Metro Audits latest video on UTube. It shows an interaction with the City Clerk. A woman named Sweet Tea goes up to the counter & asks for a copy of something hanging in the window. You can watch the interaction & see that Sweet Tea is polite, happy, calm, & smiling. The City Clerk does not once take her eyes off the computer screen in front of her & make eye contact, speak, or acknowledge that she has heard her. Sweet tea asks what her name is & again she doesn't look over & after the 2nd time asking we hear a barely audible "City Clerk" or something. Sweet Tea's boyfriend cannot believe what he's seeing & i can imagine it's hard for him to watch his girlfriend getting treated like that so he comes up to the counter & says very calmly & softly that they don't want any trouble but could she please make eye contact with them? The City Clerk gets up w/o saying anything or making eye contact, puts a sign on the counter, & walks out the bldg! So they go to find out her name so they can file a complaint. Her Manager who's first name is Jen is awful & refuses to tell her name so they are forced to get put in a record request for it. A few days later their records request for her name (a public employee paid with their tax dollars) is denied w/o a reason & they are forced to get a list of every single employee in the office off the website & file complaints on every female employee. A month later no one had responded back to their complaints so he calls the Manager, gets her voice mail & leaves a message reminding her that he'd like a response back to their complaint. The next day he gets this 12 word, 1 sentence response back in an email: "I'm sorry that you feel the City Clerk was rude to you." I suggest you go watch the interaction yourselves & see how rude these people treat the public.

These people never ever seem to care about cleaning up the trails. It's dangerous, mean and just shows how lazy people are.
