I’ve been using Sookie at Broadway dry cleaning for over eight years. She is simply the best! And fair pricing for everything.

Anything less than 5 stars for this place is an anomaly not worth taking into consideration. I am very, very particular about my suits, shirts and other very expensive textiles. Ms. Sookie is the best in the business and I’ve had suits done on every corner of the earth at this point and I have yet to find a cleaner or tailor that is as meticulous and thorough as Ms. Sookie.

Prices are an abomination and only because she doesn’t charge enough. Would gladly pay a premium for the level of service provided here. She is very friendly and will be very clear on what she will and will not do— have yet to find a stain she couldn’t get out and she’s graciously saved my very expensive crinkle velvet duvet covers from a dog hair disaster on more than one occasion.

Everything is ready on time as promised and I always look and feel great after she’s cared for my suits. I have 3 dry cleaners that do daily pickup in my neighborhood, most of which offer same or next day turnaround. I pass probably a dozen cleaners on my drive to Sookie and it’s worth the 20 minutes in the opposite direction for me to go here. Seriously that great.

Excellent service and results! Had a bridesmaid dress that had a lot of stains on it from the reception. I thought it was done for, but she was able to get every stain out - even the oil/food based ones!! The dress looks beautiful now and can be worn again. Cannot recommend enough!!

Have been going here for years. Always great service. Cleaning of everything from shirts, suits etc to tablecloths. She's also sewn every patch on every Boy Scout uniform in the house. Can't recommend any more highly.

I've had a bit of bad luck finding a reliable dry cleaner and alterations place in the past few years. Found this place at the recommendation of several friends and am so glad I did! Though the prices are really good, I would even be willing to pay more because they are so thorough and efficient! I also brought in a few pants that needed hemming because the Good Lord blessed me with a lot of things but height was not one of them HA! Walked away with not only a PERFECT fit but the alterations look like the pants came that way! Also love the fact that I am supporting a family business. Both mother and daughter could not be nicer and more fun!

Stephanie, you must be mistaking this cleaners for another cleaners. It's funny how all the reviews you have given are all negative. It's not all those stores that have issues. Reflect and look at yourself. I have been going to this cleaners for years. Never once have I experienced any rude behavior towards me or anyone that was waiting in line. If it's the price that you are complaining about, that is so silly. You've never heard the phrase "you pay for what you get?" The owner of the store has done amazing work!! Before finding Broadway Dry Cleaning, I have been to several others and it is no where compared to the work at Broadway Dry Cleaning. Nobody even comes close to the great job they always do.

Absolutely love this place. It’s run by a sweet, hard working lady. Sometimes her daughter comes in, but she’s just as nice. Has one of the best prices around. Her alliterations are professionally done for she has done it for many many years.

I stopped by here today and am so happy I did! I needed something simple- a belt loop sewed back on to a dress- but still something I didn't know how to do. Sookie immediately took care of it on the spot! She was so friendly and accommodating, and I am so grateful for her quick, efficient, and wonderful work! She definitely earned a repeat customer today!

Great customer service and a willingness to accommodate customers needs. Right when covid was starting to impact our community, I needed a coat cleaned. When I dropped it off I could still go inside. The owner had a mask, gloves, and shield on already. I was little shocked sure, but was very impressed to be honest. When I picked up my coat a few days later, she no longer allowed customers inside. Instead she would come to you and place your garments neatly in your back seat. I was so blown away by her hospitality and the steps she took to be proactive. Knowing a Shelter at Home was most likely to happen soon, and with small business’ likely to take a bigger hit, I wanted to tip her well. She simply wouldn’t except it. If you’re in the area please try this place out. You won’t regret it.

I’ve reviewed before but it gets better every time! The owner Sookie was so helpful and even gave me some free buttons and thread since my suits needed some love. She treats her customers like family! Such a great place and nice woman!!!!

I brought in a verrrryyyy stained dress, like badly stained with food oils, I was expecting it to be a lost cause and picked it up completely perfect - like brand new! Thank you so much!

Friendly and professional, amazingly quick turnaround, my suit look and smelled like new! You can tell the owner puts immense pride in her business. Many dry cleaners closer to home but this is my go to spot

Sookie is so nice and she does an amazing job! I thought I had runied one of my shirts with sunscreen and tried everything at home to get the stains out. Took it into Sookie and she got all of the stains out when I thought the shirt was a lost cause. She also does an incredible job tailoring suits. I take so many items into Sookie’s and they always look perfect when I get them back. Use Sookie! She is the sweetest and does great work.
Personal side note, bring her back the wire hangers she gives you so she can recycle them. She probably benefits from it and so does our environment :)

I had a small loop that needed to be stitched back onto my dress where a belt goes through and they fixed it on the spot and did a great job!

In the time between my 5th and 8th year I spent a few extended months in a few extended summers living (visiting) with my grandmother in Park Ridge, Illinois. Those sweltering, mind melting, asphalt liquifying Chicago summers.... Grandma Josephine's eulogy is somewhere in my feed (September 29, 2012) if you would like to get to know her. She was quite worth knowing, as you will find... but to continue: my grandmother, owned and ran a dry cleaning business in Skokie, Illinois for years and, when I lived with her, she made certain it was my duty to learn it.
My uncles will tell you perhaps horrid tales of slave labor and long hours in the family business (drily, I promise... Mostly) but when she brought me as her little assistant (with my Uncle Brian still sweating profusely over the steam presses, all Brando tank tops and ginger beard, ever humble and grounded and of few words; the youngest of the five in his thirties, still helping mom out when he was able, when he wasn't working his real day job and helping raise my two cousins), she lectured me to no end on customer service, the art of listening instead of selling, educating where necessary, learning new and practical ideas whenever possible and above all the extraordinary value in the personal relationship: "People with small minds see no value in small talk," was one of her favorites... And when you were done talking she would have committed your children's names to memory, your name in stone, your wife's sizes and preferences... All the little details that made her one of the best at what she did. The things that made her shop special were the things that made YOU special. She took these pieces of persona on as if they were her own and she cared for them, guarded them fiercely, for those who came to her were never dollar signs; the thought of degrading her clientele in such a fashion! She would see it as a poisoning of her business! A lessening of herself! A cheapening of her professionalism and her years of dedication! She was a proud servant of her community and there is no doubt that her passion and fervor for doing so instilled in me the seeds of populism that are so prevalent in my philosophies today....
Which brings me to Sookie, the owner operator at Broadway Dry Cleaning who is, without question, my grandmother's long lost East Asian sister. She is, simply put, a phenomenon. Her pride in her work and in her level of service is simply off the local charts... I can't imagine taking my business elsewhere. She calls me Mr. Tamron and it just makes me happy, okay? If that is to be my name (legally changed from Mr. Sony), then so be it but anyone who is willing to stay 2 hours past closing time to finish a rush job because their client has to be at the airport at an ungodly hour the next day deserves massive, major, and unmitigated kudos, affection, and admiration.
She saved my ass, is what she did, and she did it all the while apologizing to ME because it was "so late" never mind my batshit scheduling being to blame, the crazed lunacy of a road job and its professional wardrobe... No she outgraced the graceless with ease and left me stammering my gratitude as I left... And I was determined to do her a better turn.
Sookie is her name. She's lovely and superhuman and embodies all the qualities my grandmother sought to teach me when I was a wee bug behind the counter being paid a dollar for every customer's name I could remember. She has owned this business for 13 of its 18 years and she is quite honestly my hometown hero of the day. Fantastic job. She took it to 11, people. She clearly deserves better customers than Mr. Tamron. I am very sincerely hoping you find your way over to her shop and offer her the opportunity to upgrade.
