Gracie Barra Centennial Jiu-Jitsu

Great experience! This is the best Jiu-Jitsu academy in Colorado for sure. Myself and my son train there for over a year now and I cannot thank enough for all benefits we got from BJJ. Professor Robert is both a great person and professional.

I started jiu-jitsu with my then 4 year old son here in July 2023, and it has been amazing so far! The culture of the school is one that encourages team and the kids classes are perfect for this age group. There is no harshness or expectations that the kids be anything other than kids. Professor Robert’s approach with the kids is, honestly, deeply impressive and insightful. As a parent, I could not feel better about my (now 5 year old) learning this sport in this school. On the adult side of things, the entire environment is supportive and everyone wants everyone else to learn, not just the coaches and professor, but the other students as well. I am grateful to have found such a great place to train and that Professor Robert and all of the coaches have created such a cool space for learning and growing!

My 2 boys have been doing jj for over a year now and they love it. The professors are very patient yet teach them discipline. They have a good balance of playtime with skills training. Their energy is perfect for the kids. I can tell that my kids’ confidence has skyrocketed as they feel confident defending themselves.

Gracie Barra Centennial is a GEM! Our two, elementary school-aged daughters have been at this school for about 6 months and we couldn't be more grateful for the environment they are training in. Professor Robert and coaches Mila & Junior invest in teaching Jiu-Jitsu AND building up good humans. From building confidence, work ethic, and teamwork to physical strength & skills—we've seen nothing but growth. Bonus: Their ability to respectfully stand up for, and protect, themselves is great peace of mind.

I've been attending for a little over a month and this place is now a major part of my life. I've cancelled my regular gym membership. Firstly, the coaches & professors here make you feel welcome and kill whatever nerves you might have about starting martial arts going in. The care, bond and friendship you feel starting on day 1 is unlike anything I've ever walked into. They're so happy to see you, offer so much encouragement, are always willing to help and answer any questions you might have. My physical results have been better and have shown up faster than any other workout I've ever tried. I leave everyday so happy that I went to class. I feel so much better, way more confident and excited to show up everyday. This is a total 180 to how I felt about heading to my regular gym. Jiu Jitsu is so mentally challenging and rewarding as well. You literally learn something new to work on and master every time you attend class. The community here is so great to be a part of and I'm a happier person because of it. I’ve dropped in at hundreds of schools around the world, but this was my first time visiting a gracie barra. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and friendly everyone was. The class was also well structured, professional and conducted to the highest standard of safety.

Gracie Barra Centennial is great. Fantastic instructors and students. In particular, I enjoyed the Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6:00am classes.

I had the opportunity to visit this gym today while in town for a work conference. I’ve been training BJJ for 7 years and had never been to a Gracie Barra gym. I brought my own gi, but didn’t realize GB requires you to wear one of their’s. No problem! Robert, the owner, had clean, high quality loaner gis on hand so I could participate in class. The class format was fantastic. The drills were a lot of fun and the instruction was top notch. Robert could not have been more accommodating! He even gave me and my buddy a ride to the train station after class so we could get back to downtown Denver because Uber prices to get back were almost $100. Great gym, great instructor, and great experience! I’ll be back the next time I’m in Denver.

I am visiting Denver, Colorado from upstate NY and was hoping to drop into a local school to get some training in while I’m away. I feel extremely lucky to have chosen Gracie Barra Centennial and to have had the honor to learn from Professor Robert Goodloe! The entire class was extremely friendly and hospitable and the instruction I received was top notch. Professor Robert gave a brief discussion about service and its importance at the end of class. He truly practices what he preaches as he would not allow my friend and I to pay the Uber rate which had increased exponentially from our trip to the school, but gave us a ride to the train station so that we could get back to Denver! I couldn’t recommend Gracie Barra Centennial more, and I hope to come back and train here again some day!

I have been training at this gym for a few weeks now and can't recommend it enough. Whether you are interested in general physical fitness, self defense or competition prep, this is the place to go. The pace of the classes and the instruction allow for progress at any point on your BJJ journey while also being part of a community. Robert (lead instructor) is very talented and patient. He listens and is attentive to each participant giving constructive feedback leading to steady progression. Good stuff all the way around!!

I joined the morning class (Centennial location) while visiting from out of town and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Robert is an expert instructor and the class is well attended and talented. It's a close-knit team, but also welcoming to newcomers. The class is a familiar balance of instruction, drills and rolling that will appeal to all experience levels. If you're an earlier riser and looking for a good place to train regularly, don't hesitate--I haven't found a better morning class in my (many) years of training.

We have absolutely loved training here! We have been treated exceptionally from the moment we first walked in the doors. The instructors are wonderful and we are grateful for the way they have handled everything amid the current pandemic. We have felt safe and secure continuing to train in person throughout this time. They also offer an online option to train as well. They have pivoted quite well and we couldn’t appreciate them more! We highly recommend Gracie Barra for those looking for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu family!

I’ve been training for a few years but recently joined GB after a move to Colorado and I can say my experience here has been nothing short of excellent. The facility has a big mat space, showers, and is extremely clean. The owner was very welcoming when I joined and is also a great instructor. Top notch facility, instructors and training partners. I tried a couple of other gyms when I moved here, but GB felt like the best fit. Would highly recommend anyone looking to train Jiu Jitsu to give GB a try!

Visited this school while on Christmas vacation with my wife and kids. I train out of San Antonio but still needed my jiu jitsu fix. This gym is wonderful. Very friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff. They instantly made myself and my two daughters who train feel very welcome. It was a very warm and family friendly environment. Big thanks to the professors and coaches who really are the embodiment of the Gracie Barra culture and made us feel welcomed. Thanks to all.

Excellent professors and coaches, with an exceptional focus on foundational principles of BJJ. Higher belts are eager to help white belts as well. The gym currently takes extra precautions due to COVID, which I am comfortable training under. I started in June this year, and I really do enjoy the experience and teaching style of each class’s instructor. Very accommodating class schedules as well. I highly recommend this gym.

This is a fantastic gym. Me and my kids train here and the instructors are some of the best we have seen anywhere. The other members are very open to new comers and it is a great environment to learn BJJ.

In response to Karen who has nothing better to do than leave nasty reviews for good local businesses she has never interacted with - this gym has instituted careful covid protocols that include taking the temperature of everyone who walks through the doors. My kids are safe there and so is everyone else. There have been ZERO cases in this gym.

But no hard feelings, BJJ is a great way to stay in shape and fit people have better immune systems. Come try out the gym- you might like it. 🤙

Family friendly Champions teaching a couch potato like me to be a champion. I've dropped over 65 lbs and grown in unimaginable ways in the 3 years I've been training here. I'd write more but it shouldn't take any more convincing than this, come here, meet the Professors, train as much as you can and the rest will speak for itself. It's up to you but they can show you how to learn, train and or compete as champions. I'm as proud to call this place my home gym as I would be if It were a any big named pro gym.
