Sweety lake

Cool park across the street from me. Has the potential for a lot more biodiversity to add what's already there! Would love to see the ecology of this area taken a bit better care of! Great place to hang out during a nice day.

Definitely achieves the goal of containing a large amount of water and geese.

It’s a wonderful spot, but the city has to stop mowing down all the flora along the edge of the lake!!!
Since they did, the drop in wildlife has been precipitous and depressing. It was so much more beautiful with the flowers and grasses. Please leave it to be wild. Trim it back from the sidewalk if you must, but don’t just mow it down indiscriminately! Seriously, it’s barren and awful here, now. :(

This shouldn't be called a lake it should be called a pond, it's so small and looks shallow. There is a lot of bird life here, so that has it going for its self. The grass they just recently put in is nice to have your dog run around on. The pond attracts a lot of mosquitoes so, if you plan on hanging out here long bring your bug spray. There is a picnic table there, but I can't see it being too pleasant with the bugs here. Definitely not a swimming area, but overall an OK place to walk your dog around.

This is usually one of my favorite features so close by when they don't literally destroy it. "Nature preserve", my hiney. They mow down all the beautiful vegetation and wild flowers to tiny brown stumps constantly so now it is a barren field of dead/dying. That vegetation is not only beautiful but extremely important habitat for the ecosystem. The honeybee is now on the endangered species list and we are continuing to destroy their food and habitat. If that wasn't a tragedy in itself, we can kiss much of our food goodbye if they go extinct. The difference between the area when it isn't mowed is staggering. All the wildlife have no place to shelter/eat/live, and I have exactly zero idea as to the reason why. Not to mention it costs money to go out and destroy it regularly.

Would be nice if there were fish in there.

Ok to swim in I guess. Not my cup of tea.
