Have been seeing Dr Palguta for years. I live out of state and continue to return just to see him. He is a straight shooter and will take the time to discuss your issues without trying to rush you out the door.

Dr Palguta needs to be bragged about...my husband and I have seen him for years. He's one of the few Drs left that really LISTENS to you. He's genuinely rooting for you and wants to help you succeed with your healthful plans. He's encouraging and motivating. He treats you like a friend...makes you feel comfortable...and helps you to make informed decisions. I just really love him.
He's moving to New Brighton soon and I hope that you are blessed to get an appointment with him. There aren't many Drs left out there like Palguta anymore. You aren't just "another patient" with him, you're HIS patient and he takes the relationship seriously. I dread the day that he retires. We'll be hard pressed to find a comparable Dr.

I do not recommend this practice. TLDR: A simple mix-up with my prescription that could easily be resolved has turned into a two-week-long headache and unneeded stress, seemingly due to laziness (I was never given a "real" reason why they could not fix the issue).

Full Story:

I had been taking a new medication for 6 months with 30 day refills, but after the first 6 months, my cost for my prescription pickup increased 5x what it had been. I could not afford the prescription at this cost, and was confused about the sudden change.

I asked the pharmacist why the cost changed, they told me to contact my Doctor because they were unsure why the price was different.

After calling the Doctor's office, they directed me to contact my insurance company to find out why. So I called the Insurance company.

My insurance company provided me with very specific instructions to give to my Doctor so that my prescription could be filled and filled at a lower, original price.

1) Call in a pre-authorization of the medication (which is required after 6-months)

2) Re-write the prescription with a different, specific code

Since it was after business hours by the time I got off the phone, I submitted all of the details to their office through their messaging service in a nice, organized fashion, so that they could read it and pass along the details to my Doctor.

Of course, nothing can ever be that simple!

It took several days for anyone to respond, and despite putting the name of the medication in the subject line of the message, the response that I was finally given was: "Jacob which medication are you referring to?"

Being patient, I replied to them with the name of the medication and the dosage.

The next day, a different staff member replies "this was sent on 8/24 to your pharmacy".

Okay, thanks, Sherlock. I'm glad you are responding without having read the message where I kindly and carefully explained that I did not pick up the prescription because it was suddenly 5x the price, and where I outlined - step by step - what the doctor needed to do to fix it.

Instead of being a jerk, I replied calmly and explained again - word for word - the entirety of the situation again. And guess what happened? No response.

Yesterday, after almost another full week (and almost 2 weeks from the first call at this point), I checked in to ask if it had been resolved... then TODAY, I get a response:

"we called the pharmacy and the rx that was sent on the 24th was never picked up".

Seriously? Just, seriously?

At my wits end, I asked them to confirm if the Doctor was unable to fill the prescription as it was outlined by my insurance. Because, if he is not able or is refusing to do so, I just want to freaking know so that I can understand what the damn problem is. And they completely ignored the question.

Eventually, today, I FINALLY got someone on the phone at this office. I explained - STEP BY STEP - what the insurance company told me about the prescription. I explained every. Single. Thing.

And the girl on the phone, instead of even offering to talk to the Doctor about fixing the prescription, or letting me leave a message for him, insisted I go pick up the more expensive prescription.

I told her I guess I'm just not taking it anymore, because I can't afford the new price, and that was that.

I have never been more frustrated in my entire life over something SO SMALL. All the guy has to do is re-write the damn prescription with the correct code and call in a prior authorization so I can get the old RX price from my insurance.

How complicated is that? It would take him, what... 10 minutes of his life? And to not even offer an explanation for why it was not or could not be done is truly astounding.

What a sorry excuse for a practice. Do NOT recommend.
