Pennsylvania Shell ethylene cracker plant

I had the honor and the privilege to witness some of the first h-beams to be driven into the soil, the entire phase of the Early Works.
I was given the opportunity to work at this location for close to four years.
Shell Oil, from top down and bottom up, were perhaps, the safest company to work for. They were a wonderful company to be of employ in every respect.

I am very proud to have been a part of this project.

I wish everyone at Shell Oil good fortune.

Great plant. All the hypocrites with negative reviews use plastic on a daily basis directly and indirectly. These are the same people against mining but buy a new iPhone every 6 months full of rare earth elements. These are also people that think they know about “green energy” and “organic” but do not realize the mining necessary to sustain “green energy”.

It was a great job Union work good for the economy in that area giving people jobs. They should be very grateful to have such a great job.

Awesome plant! It was a deserted dilapidated factory and Royal Dutch shell rehabbed the place and helped boost income.

I understand all the negative reviews. Mostly these are uninformed NIMBY statements. Fact: The world needs plastic- it goes into EVERYTHING we use in our lives and it’s use will only increase in the future. Fact: If we don’t make this product here some other country will. And these countries do not have the same strict environmental regulations and wage protections. Fact: We have the cheapest nat gas here, so we can afford to produce this plastic responsibly and affordably. Western Pennsylvanians deserve to benefit from this abundant natural resource!

For those of you bashing this plant, where do you think the plastic for electric car batteries come from, for that matter, do you know how much strip mining and destroyed ecosystems go into getting the lead, lithium, nickle, and cadmium for said batteries? Do you realize the asphalt road you are driving on is made from fossil fuels?Unless you are riding a bicycle EVERYWHERE you go(which have axle grease), or use an old ice house for your food refrigeration, get off your soapbox, especially if said soapbox is made of plastic.

A great place to work.
Negative reviews are most likely from people who could not survive without the plastic that will be made here.
The use of a cell phone or computer to write their bad reviews makes them hypocritical, due to the use of the plastic.
Even the cars they drive have the plastic this place makes.

what people fail to realize is for every job position the plant has that will create 3+ support jobs; a win win whether they are PA residents or not. They still buy PA gas, food, cigs, lotto etc

Live a day without plastic. Please. I'd much rather use any product made in the USA than some horribly inefficiently made by political prisoners product that's been shipped 8,000 miles
