Large portions - salads were plenty large to share! Simply LOVELY guitar player kept the vibe great - not too loud but oldies you love to hear. Tons of draft beer options. SEATING TIP: If you want more restaurant vibe, sit in the side room. If you want more bar vibe, sit in the front room. Short ribs were our favorite. Very accommodating to a gluten free member of our party!

My husband and I went there a while on vacation and absolutely loved it! He had a hamburger 🍔 with french fries, and he said the hamburger was delicious. I ordered the salmon sandwich on sourdough bread, and it was absolutely delectable. I LOVED it! I normally do not order a fish sandwich, but I thought this one sounded good and I’m so glad I tried it. The fish tasted like that of a quality fish and the combination they offered with it was so very good. The sourdough bread 🍞 was excellent with it as well. I did ask them to take it off the bacon since I’m not a bacon lover, but my husband is, and I gave it to him. The salad was also very fresh and the vegetables seemed like they were of good quality. I just ordered the water and it was really good too. I actually asked the waitress about their water, and I think our waitress told us it was well water. She was also very good and we bragged on her to the owner of the restaurant. They had a musician that was playing there that night, and it was just a nice touch. We are both very glad that we went and would definitely go again.

Delicious food. My Mom had a craving for New England Clam Chowder, and she got a cup of theirs at the Tavern and wished she had gotten a bowl of it and nothing more would have been needed. She said it was the best she had in years. I had the Honey Salmon entree, which was so crispy and yummy that it filled me up. Mom also got an 1846 Burger with mushrooms. The mushrooms, she said, were not, however, worth the extra cost.
We stayed so long, enjoying ourselves and talking with other customers, we hadn't realized they were trying to close, and the staff did not try to rush us out either.

Other reviews here were helpful. The Salmon bacon sandwich was very good. Georgia our server / waitress was excellent. It was not as expensive as I thought it would be. Altogether it was a fine dining experience. Service from seating to ordering was fast and easy...

Our first visit. Good food and good service and got to listen to good quality live music. Families seem comfortable there. Got more expensive than I anticipated.

Great atmosphere. The room my wife and I stayed in had an historic comfortable charm. Charles was a great host as well. The oysters were great with dinner and they provided an incredible complimentary breakfast spread!

Beautiful historic inn— clean, friendly service ~ Charles was awesome !!

Great to come “home” to after a long day at the mountain. Room with a fireplace to warm up, walk to tavern which is connected to inn, great dinner, live music, friendly bartenders AND a short walk back to your room. Complimentary breakfast made to order next day by Phil that is phenomenal.

Dark, cozy, warm and historic eclectic atmosphere. A MUST try - so New England.

Got lunch here after a day of skiing. We started with shrimp cocktail and a cheese board. Both were fantastic.

For my entree I got honey glazed salmon. It was good but slightly dry.

Overall great place and good service.

Absolutely delicious! The clam chowder is amazing. The kale salad is enough to share and delicious. The cheese ravioli with homemade meatballs were fabulous. If you’re looking for a relaxing, laid back, inexpensive dinner- look no further!

Didn't eat here, but great place for a beer at the bar or outside on the property. Insider tip: there's cornhole (no double entendre intended) in the back. Looked like they also had a popular raw oyster thing going on too.

We absolutely love the Tavern! My boyfriend and I came here since we were on vacation and Janna made us feel right at home! We loved it so much we came back again before we left Dover. The food was amazing! The service was incredible and we can’t wait to come back again! The selection of Oysters were incredible and the atmosphere was super clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is on the hunt for the freshest seafood and a great drink selection.

This is our absolute go to when visiting West Dover. We enjoy the food, live music and the overall atmosphere. Have had dinner several times and lunch, never a miss on anything ordered. Burgers are delicious and the salmon for dinner! Service is OK, but I understand due to how busy it can get, possibly additional server help to support the volume of customers.

My girlfriend and I stopped by apres-ski for a drink on St Patrick's day- band playing, lively crowd. Had a plate of oysters which were fresh and fantastic. The margaritas nearly knocked us off our seats but it was St Patty's Day so that was fine! Decided to stay for dinner- I'm gluten-free and the waitress was really knowledgeable about the kitchen and food and kept me safe- I had a burger with a lettuce wrap and my partner had the cauliflower steak- both really good. Fun place for drinks and dinner- great pub atmosphere!

Stopped here for Father’s Day dinner. The staff was nice, our waitress was on point with everything. We loved being able to play bean bag toss in the back after dinner too. Would definitely recommend the haddock.

Had dinner here last night. Great hummus plate and shrimp cocktail to begin for the table. Salads were fresh and flavorful, but the star was the salmon. Each of us agreed the salmon was the best we had ever eaten! Flaky and moist with the best char on the outside! We would seriously go back each night to order the salmon! Tavern atmosphere is cozy, fun, and unpretentious. Good beer and wine list, and vegetarian options. Ended the night with apple pie and good coffee. Nice waitstaff. Highly recommended!

Visited from MA. Seafood tower and sautéed scallops were amazing. Service was very good on a very busy labor day weekend.
