Perfect, casual dining, and the maple Manhattans are a must also the Raspberry margaritas! As advertised the lobster rolls were awesome but the French onion soup and bacon and leek flatbread was amazing! Our host Selma the co owner with her husband, came out to visit with us to insure everything was fine. Two thumbs up and will definitely be back if we travel through the area again!

Our group came in for breakfast this morning. I had French toast and bacon. The French toast was very good and the bacon could have been cooked a little more (I like my crispy). But overall all it was good.

I can wrap this review up in just a few words but , I can't. If you have followed any of my reviews, you will clearly be chomping at the bit to try this GEM . I can let you know I have rated many eateries and , the new England house has ranked in my top 3 . Well done to this wonderful Vermont restaurant . My wife and I have traveled to many states here in the USA . We dine quite a bit in all areas and types of cuisine. From the time you walk in you are taken to a place where you just know you can relax , let your stress go . I'm sure y'all are saying I wish this man would just get to the meat and vegetables about this place . Well, ok . Here is some of the highlights that will hopefully grab your attention and , have you sitting at one of there tables . I did ask if it would be OK to mention names and , was told , that would be great . So here we go .
Curt and Selma ( the owners ) have made the place someplace we will return to . Daelyn our waitress deserves a special shout out . We started off with the most gracious greeting from Selma . After we were seated in a cozy table for two , we had this lovely young lady ( Daelyn ) with such a bubbly personality come up and gave to us the best tasting water . We where told that every item on this menu is made from scratch by ( CURT ) . My wife decided to order the chicken cheese sandwich ( on homemade rolls ) fries ( extra crispy ) and pesto . I went another route . Bacon Broccoli chicken Alfredo. I can definitely give you a big YES on my chose . If the homemade Alfredo doesn't do it for you . Try the homemade French onion soup ... oh my . The chicken sandwich I was advised was AWESOME . We did choose to order desert ... wow . Creme bruelet. I do recommend trying the desert . Prices are very reasonable and fair . Building is so quaint and comfortable . A must when you are in the area .eat well traveler's. Be kind , and , enjoy .

We are pleased to share our experience at NEH for our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner! Both Selma and Kurt were amazingly accommodating to work with as we planned this event! When the power went out we thought that the event would be a bust. However, Kurt, (owner and chef) managed to pull off cooking all of the 16 meals . We had everything from apps to desserts served by waitstaff using flashlights on their phones. Truly an event to remember! According to the 4- year old flower girl “This is so fun, just like camping!”
In summary, the food was amazing, everyone was great to work with and it was still a wonderful event regardless of the weather !❤
Thank you New England House….Kurt and Selma and staff!

This gem in West Brattleboro is a MUST for anyone seeking an exquisite meal with the charm and ambiance of a European chalet. Everything was amazing from the wine list to the appetizers and entree's. The dessert was out of this world!!!

I don't understand why this place has a rating of only 4.1. it really should be a five. Atmosphere is early American, which is appropriate for this part of Vermont. The service is very good. Both the presentation and the taste of the food is what I would expect at a very expensive big city restaurant but much less expensive. I had the sweet corn and scallop risotto with crispy kale which was just amazing, never had anything like this and I would love to have it on a regular basis. My wife had the lobster roll which was also probably one of the best lobster rolls ever. My daughter had the linguini carbonara which, if not quite as good as the lobster roll and especially the sweet corn and scallop rosado, was excellent.

We love, love, love The New England House! We are regular patrons. The menu and the presentation are consistently Great! This evening we ordered the Burrata appetizer and for dinner we enjoyed the Shepherds Pie, and the Hot Lobster Roll. We also love that it a Family run establishment. Kurt is an Amazing Chef and Selma is so friendly and kind to all of the guests. If you have not experienced the New England House, then add it to your list of places to try out. You will not be disappointed.

I had the scallops sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes and they were fabulous. The scallops were cooked to Perfection and melted in my mouth. The vegetables were sauteed with just the right amount of Browning and perfect flavoring. And the mashed potatoes were delicious.
My very picky 86-year-old dad had the surf and turf and was very happy with his meal so much so that he asked that I put this on our list of places to go when we come to the Brattleboro area.

This place is a best-kept secret in Brattleboro. Never been disappointed with a meal as the European-trained and tested chef and his wife are serious about good food from germanic entrees like schnitzel that are delicious to the occasional curry & asian-oriented fare. Cozy means rustic, darkish and pub-like especially in the bar area, with a fire going in winter, but there's a brighter part with booths and windows too, and an outdoor area in warmer weather. The service is always great too. Grateful these folks' hard work and love for food keeps this excellent dinner option alive.

Phenomenal food, excellent drink selection. We love Manhattans and their Maple Manhattan was perfect. Selma was amazing to us and her husband was the chef. Everything was made in house and cooked to perfection. Kids burgers, my scallops, my husband's lobster roll, all perfect. Highly recommend, especially after a great day of skiing.
