Our family of four loved everything! We appreciate the staff changing and updating our reservation due to the snow storm. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and amazing! Both of our daughters enjoyed their mocktails. The oysters were just perfect and everything was seasoned just right! Such a wonderful family meal together. Thank you so much!

4.5 stars. Burdick's has long been our favorite for special occasions, but some things were off at a recent holiday dinner. Service was attentive but slow, understaffed for a Saturday night. Oysters, onion soup, and desserts were outstanding, but mains were just okay. My oven roasted chicken, atop mashed potatoes and covered with potato strings, was tasty but a bit silly, like KFC on steroids. There was overall a lack of vegetables and color. Note on cost: a glance at the menu reveals that the per-person price of a meal with a glass of wine is in the $30‐50 range, $50-100 with appetizers and dessert.

A little culinary gem located in the picturesque New Hampshire town of Walpole, next to Burdicks Chocolates. The food was very good and service friendly and professional. We had the bone morrow and poached pear with goat cheese as an appetizer. Both were fantastic. For lunch we had roast chicken, Branzino, and hanger steak. They don’t have any truly adventurous menu offerings, but what they do make they execute masterfully. For dessert we hopped next door for some take out cakes that were phenomenal. Well worth a visit and if you are in the area don’t miss stopping here.

April 2023: we are back for another excellent meal: lobster bisque and broiled octopus. Octopus looked spectacular, but the flavor was somewhat bland. The bisque was very good. There are outdoor tables. Very pleasant and great food. The service is excellent.
June 2022: another outstanding dinner on burdick's out door patio. Smoked muscle's soup was incredible. Scallops were very good with interesting and complex sides. NH oysters were very good as well.

September 2021:outside dining setup is lovely, a very pleasant experience. The muscles were good. Steak frite was good, although slightly overcooked for medium rare, it came as medium. The duck rugout flavor was goid, but the amount of duck was disappointing. There were only four micro pieces (the size of my thumb knuckle) of duck. This was probably the least memorable meal of the large number of dinners we had here.

May 2021: they added a lovely tent with six tables in addition to the tables under the overhang. Good option for safe outdoor dining.
This is the best food I had in over a year. Just as good as before the pandemic.
2019:
Consistently good food, attentive service.
Update 2018: again, wonderful experience. The chef has been here for 13 years, and we 've been coming here for about 10.

Impeccable service, food and ambience. The waitress Jocelyn was incredibly kind to our toddler and even took him to see the chef.
The ambience is romantic and the food is worth more than they charge. The raw oysters are worth it.

Great late lunch on a Wednesday with Heirloom Tomatoes, Pear & Endive Salad, plus a vague "Vegetarian Plate", which turned out to be delicious and best of all. Beware our server focused more on socializing than serving.

The restaurant was celebrating Robert Burns birthday with a special "Scottish" menu and cocktails. To add to our delight, they featured a Scottish bagpiper. The food selections were wonderful with plenty of variety. We had to stop by for some L A Burdick chocolates before our journey home. A great evening with long time friends!

After our experience yesterday for Sunday brunch, it's hard to imagine the negative reviews. It was absolutely incredible! We both had the eggs Benedict -- a massive plate of 2 poached eggs atop toasted brioche bread and prosciutto, roasted red potatoes and dressed mixed greens. Standard fare, perhaps, but done exceptionally well. Our servers were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We're told that Ken Burns owns the place and his namesake "Ken's Salad" on the menu is a tribute to him.

Burdick's isn't just chocolate mice! My friend and I went for brunch, but that didn't stop her from ordering warm olives with blue cheese and truffled steak frites. Somehow, even at the very bottom/last fry, they each had a full truffle flavor. Do not pass on these!

I got the homemade corned beef hash with egg on top. They accommodated my request for scrambled with a little cheddar on top for an extra nominal fee. It came with a small side salad. The eggs were local and delicious, the portion was about half the plate and placed atop the corned beef hash. The hash itself was crispy and chunky and definitely not from Hormel!

We finished brunch with a freshly crisped creme brulee (the top was still warm up on arrival). The custard was not too sweet, to offset the sugar top.

Overall a complete win of a meal!

omg, Omg, OMG!! Where do I begin! I want experiences, rather than expensive things.
My Dining Experience at Burdick, NH.was exceptional.
Brandie (sp?) our hostess was a true delight. She was so knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on!! We enjoyed the delicious perfectly prepared Brussels sprouts and Cesar Salad. Their amazing burger and Duck confit! The wine recommendation was fabulous and we would definitely visit again and highly recommended it!! Keep up the great work and menu!!

Fantastic restaurant in a charming little town. They have a seasonal menu and a "classics" menu that doesn't change. I've been here at least five times and enjoyed everything I've ordered. Service is usually good as well. Lovely atmosphere.

This is truly one of my guilty pleasures. Since I have to travel over an hour to get here, it's a special occasion place for me, but one I always anticipate! We had a fantastic meal of things often not found on a menu, but there are many crowd pleasers too. My tea infused cocktail was phenomenal, I had tomato veg soup like no other, and my entree was perfect. But the chocolate orange hazelnut ice cream was truly wonderful. I just wish the chocolate shop had been open long enough for me to indulge.... well, guess I will need to go back sooner than I planned. Thanks for another great experience!

We have been coming to Burdick's for about a year now and have been impressed with the consistently strong service, which given Covid restrictions, says quite a bit! In addition, we have enjoyed the seasonal menu changes and specials the talented chefs have created. Between the seasonal menu, sourced from local farms, the specials, and offerings from the original menu, there is truly something for everybody. Wine and beer have been thoughtfully selected to complement the food and the season. Cocktails are creative and tasty!

If you haven't been before or it's been a while since dining there, I highly recommend the restaurant.

Great food, atmosphere and hostesses. We started with the Artisan cheeses and I had the Jumbo Lump Crab and my husband had the Pernil ... all were insanely delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. Will definitely be back soon to try more.

We've been going to Burdicks several times a summer for many years. It's consistently excellent, one of the best restaurants in NH.

Just made our first post pandemic visit. We reserved an outdoor table, food is still excellent as was the service.
Back again for 2023. The lobster bisque is fantastic, full of lobster.

Visiting this restaurant intermittently for at about 15 years. The standard of service and cooking has usually been of a high standard. Notwithstanding Covid, tonight’s meal was one of our very best, with highest marks for the all-vegetable entree and the Salade Lyonnaise. Hard to imagine a better destination within a 75 mile radius.
