Verna's Discount Grocery and Deli

Went for the 1st time today and very happy. Got subs, 6.50 for half sub and the meat was packed. strawberry Rhubarb pie was delicious. Very polite employees. I will be back.

Tried the Italian sub for the first time, a very tasty sandwich! The right amout of meat & vegetables, Verna's is my new sub shop.

Home made cookies, breads, & really low prices for the deli meats, & the goods themself. Really nice ladies, you can always see the ladies in back making fresh product. Very grateful. Great for the party platters​ too.

A home style country store with pleasent people to greet you. Check it out sometime. I recommend it.

What a delightful store! You can't beat the prices of deli meats and cheeses and they always have deli specials. Today they had their 10% senior discount and 20% off potato salad, cole slaw and macaroni salad and seniors still get their discount on sale items. They sell some frozen foods and a nice assortment of spices at very reasonable prices. They have homemade buns, breads, pies and cakes. Great assortment of bulk nuts, candy, and baking ingredients, homemade jelly, pickles, etc. and many other grocery items. The employees are super nice and very helpful. Also, the store is very neat and clean. You just have to try it out - you won't be disappointed!

Lots of different stuff here. Some hard to find items. They even have Farm Dust seasoning. Nice people too.

Although this store has changed ownership, it still has that touch of home inside, with all their bulk and discounted groceries!!

Verna's always has such good deli meets and cheeses. And I can't say enough about their dips! I have a problem not eating them all in one sitting! Their wholesale items are priced very well, too. I love seeing all the new things they always get in.

Will definitely be back and maybe again this week!

Update 4/2023: I continue to enjoy having Verna's as an option for quick grocery needs. I have tried many of their baked goods and enjoyed them all!

Update 10/2022: I've been happier with this store with every purchase! I recently tried a Mint-Topped Brownie... It was amazing!! If you like chocolate mint fudge and brownies, this is the dessert for you!! As a warning though, it's VERY decadent so an individual size package lasted me 3 servings!

Original review: Verna's is a nice little neighborhood store with friendly staff and unique bulk and homemade goods... I plan to try their fudge on my next visit because it looked good... Especially the strawberry cheesecake and the dark chocolate mint ones... I would recommend this store for quick trips, snacks, and deli needs!

Pleasant people willing to help you. Lunch meats and cheese plus their home made pies are what I go for the most. They have a good variety of bulk items to choose from. It is a place to go see remember it's a small store but very nice to go to for quick supplies. My husband lives their subs as they are made fresh.

First time shopper today and we were amazed. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We were looking for a new go to lunch meat and cheese location and the quality and prices were great! Loved the apple cinnamon bread. The store is a true hidden gem in Meadville.

Most of the prices are reasonable here. The one thing you don't want to miss are the fresh baked products. They keep the store clean and the aisles are never cluttered. The employees are super friendly, personable and helpful. I always anticipate experiencing nothing but good from here.

Very nice store, organized perfectly. The cashier that checked my father and I out, was extremely nice, and told us about a deal we never knew about! I didn’t catch her name but We will be returning!

There is a lot packed into this little store. They have an amazing line of deli meats and cheeses sliced to order. They recently added frozen food cases and sell bulk bags of chicken nuggets, french fries, etc. All at very reasonable prices. A lot of the baked goods are made fresh daily right there. Don't miss the old fashioned molassas cookies! And as other reviews mention, the staff are super nice.
