The displays were well presented and gave me a great deal of interesting information. The staff were very helpful and took care of my need for handicapped parking and access to the museum. I'm going back.

We were surprised to learn that the museum has been closed for years! Nonetheless, we were able to see the remaining exhibits thanks to a nice lady leasing an office in the building!! The exhibits were really interesting with pictures and interactive scenes (it’s always fun to push buttons and see what happens!!). Unfortunately, the building in its self is slowly deteriorating… it’s still a nice place to stop before or after going down the mine a few feet away!

Very informative. Some lights were broken leaving the middle of the museum in darkness so bring a flashlight.

We visited the Anthracite museum recently, in Ashland Pa. there was a 3.50 admission per perso, or 8.00 for the whole family. It basically was a small museum, took about 20 - 30 minutes to walk through. There were displays of equipment miners used, all sorts of pictures, maps and info. models of cranes and breakers and so forth. Explained the different types of mining and coal available in the area.

The museum was more of a read of labels on artifacts from Anthracite mining. Good explanation from start to finish. Some very good display items.
