If you’re looking for an amazing authentic tacos, look nowhere else! Don Checkos have the best tacos Al Pastor in all Chambersburg and nearby towns. The price is great, too! I typically order up front, pay and sit at a table, if dining in.

I read a review for this little place and didn’t feel like cooking for the crew tonight- so I ordered a feast “to go” thinking there would be leftovers- two little sauce packets were all that was left, after hiking, bowling and soccer games the family demolished everything in the to go containers-and there was a lot-very tasty, very nice staff-metered parking right on Main Street right outside the restaurant, affordable dinner for a family our size on the run- we will be back, thank you!

Authentic Mexican food! Giant tacos that are $2.25 each. Shells even taste homemade. I am a big eater and 4 was all I could do!

Some of the best Mexican food I've had. We live an hour away and drive to Chambersburg to enjoy the delicious food. The enchiladas are amazing, as well as their con carne nachos.

Some of the reviewers have noted you don't get consistent service, but I haven't found that to be true. You do need to be clear about what you're ordering, but each time I've been there I haven't had any issues.

Great food and great service. Always a great place to stop by for quality Mexican food when in Chambersburg. The food is always hot and fresh.

Our carnitas sopecitos and Al pastor tostadas were better than they had any right to be. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the sopes were soft and amazing. They also had watermelon Jaritos and fresh horchata! We’ll definitely be going back soon!

If you want real mexican food you gotta come here! The staff are super nice & attentive too. This place is an experience of Mexico inside and out. From food to decor, to the shows that are playing on the television to the songs they play. I highly recommend this place! Go get you some AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD FROM HERE❤

O MY GOD this was freakin AWESOME. Never before have I not been able to eat two tacos and 2 sopapillos. Trust me. There was a lot of food. The Chorizo is really flavorful and not as greasy as most places.

The sopapillos were out of this world and if they don’t make their own corn tortillas you could have fooled me.

The churiqueso was downright heavenly. Skip the chips or tortillas and just eat it like a soup.

You’re not going to find a better lunch or dinner spot for Mexican. Especially for the price.

I've been here several times. The food is always so good! And they are friendly too. We have had their tacos and tamales. Delicious!

Authentic $2 tacos that are both generous-sized AND super delicious. We only had carnitas and pastor, but were impressed with each, as well as impressed with the corn tortillas. The place is cozy and small and is not fancy, but the food more than makes up for it.

Don Chekos is the best mexican/Mexican American restaurant in Chambersburg, PA. Not a penny spent will leave one in regret. In addition, the guest attendant is exceptionally, down-to-earth and friendly, she is constantly making an effort to communicate with cultures of the community and as well invite you to hers as well through her restaurant. You'll love this place

We’ve eaten here twice recently. The food was great and the portions huge. Definitely recommend this place.
Figure plenty of time as it takes a while to get your food (in the evenings anyway)which was not a problem for us.

The best mexican food in chambersburg hands down!!

I had three of their chorizo Street tacos. They were very good! Will eat here again. Good prices, staff is very friendly, location was clean. 10/10 would recommend to friends.

If you're looking at this place right now as a potential to eat at today, do not pass this place by. Drive over there right now and get some of the best food you will ever have. Don't be turned away by the outside, it's in an old district. The buildings are what they are. Get in there and get fat.

The carnitas was super tender, I ate the entire plate! The stuff other folks were getting at other tables looked awesome. I don't speak Spanish, so next time I just need to say "that looks great, I'll have what he's having!"

When I moved to Chambersburg almost 6 years ago and asked about the best Mexican place, no one said "Don Checko's". I've driven by the place hundreds of times and never went in there.

That changed last week when I stopped in for the first time. I got 3 beef tacos with lettuce and cheese and a burrito, which variety I've forgotten.

The tacos were very flavorful and delicious. Tacos from some other places, they've tasted "off", like the seasoning on the meat was different when I expected, but here? Perfect!

The burrito was HUGE. After I ate the tacos, I opened the box with the burrito and went "Yea...thats dinner for tomorrow..." because there was no way I'd be able to eat it.

The price was reasonable, the food was great and they carry the superior Mexican Coke in the glass bottles, which is always a plus!
