Sadly, I have to write a one star review because of the sloppy operation at Severed Ties. I had put into consignment 2 crystal decanters and 12 crystal wine goblets. The 2 decanters sold and it took many weeks to get paid. When I inquired about getting paid (many times) I was told that the check was mailed, then the bookkeeper was out, then Covid hit so there were no replies (email still works during a pandemic). Eventually I had to go in person to pick up the check. I don't know if the delay was purposeful, or just plain sloppy record keeping...still, the challenge to get paid made me upset.

When I went to pick up the wine goblets because they could not sell them, I was told that 1 broke. Because the contract states that it's not Severed Ties' responsibility, all I got was a "sorry." We all know that an 11 piece set, is not complete, with a much lower valuation. In addition, when I picked up the goblets, I discovered that a second goblet was chipped. And...the padded container I left with Severed Ties, was nowhere to be found. They gave me a cheaper, stained container that was not mine.

Overall, their communications, record keeping, payments and safeguarding of customer items is poor. Unfortunately, I must advise others to be cautious about consigning their items with Severed Ties.
