Lake Gerar Park

Great for fishing. I’d suggest the wooden pier or a small cutout of brush that is near the parking spots on second ave. Be patient and you’ll catch fish! Just be careful because the turtles like to pretend there fish too and get your lure/bait.

Nice little lake. Wish the trail goes around the lake without walking along the road.

Small urban park with path around lake. Lovely and quiet for an early morning stroll with you pet. Benches and picnic tables and some pretty flowers and lively geese!

This little lake is a gem. Me and my son were here for 10 mins and caught a 3.5 pound bass. Its a small lake surprisingly with a lot of big mouth bass. It has a mid size deck on the water to fish from. Great little fishing spot.

Beautiful lake with a walking path. The playground is nicely kept up and has one big climbing structure, a few slides, a few swings, some springy rocking horse style toys, and a few shaded picnic tables. A welcome change of pace from the sun and crowds at the beach.

It's a nice park. Came here in the winter though, so everything was brown and cold. I'm sure it will look better in the spring and summer.

Had a very nice walk there. They have playground equipment for non covid times.

This is a great fun little park with playground equipment and a fence around the entire section to keep your little ones from wandering into the pond. Short walk to the beach as well from here.

My grandfather, Joseph R. Arendes was a firefighter with the D.C. Fire Department, he retired as Battalion Chief. After his retirement he bought Unit 309 @ One Virginia Avenue and lived there with my grandmother Marguerite for quite a while. Anyway we would fish a little at Lake Gerar Park as kids and one time my sister and I found some little lost turtles we put them near the lake. Actually that was after my parents said no you can't take Turtles home to Bowie. A lot of fun times were had there. That was a long time ago, my birthday is Tuesday, Sept 26 and I'll be 53.!

Super clean fun park for a picnic. Low traffic, dog friendly, and convenient. Highly recommend.

Great place to catch bass lots of public area to fish

Pretty little lake you can walk by on your way to the beach. It's a quiet spot when the beach is packed.

Beautiful lake with paved walking path and child's playground located behind the Henlopen at the North End of the boardwalk.

Went swimming. More like a muddy swamp in the water. Nice and warm, felt like I was stepping on dead bodies though.
