Awesome Ma and Pop donut shop. The one where all the decorations are just old news paper clippings of their success. Service was extremely fast and kind. Showed up as soon as they opened and was able to get three dozen of exactly what I wanted instantly. Donuts had their own amazing flavor and design. Would highly recommend to any and everyone who's hungry for donuts! 5/5 for sure!

Such a cute family business. We love supporting small businesses. This place has such tasty donuts! Everyone I have tried here has never disappointed! My favorites have been the honey drip and buttermilk. Our family will be making this one of our frequent spots now. 😋

The real deal. The best donuts. The pineapple fritters are amazing. There’s always a quick line of loyal patrons and the regulars enjoying their coffee and pastries in the corner. Plus, the shop smells so good, it’s a classic.

Delightful spot. Owners and employees are all nice as can be and the donuts are equal to Anyone's or better.
Try the Buttermilk! It's like a kruller or old fashioned only different and Great. Everything looks wonderful and is always fresh and tasty. Long Johns can be filled on request .
They do have a counter and an area to set and chat and there are usually folks there in the early morning.

Great Easter donuts! Ordered early in the week and they never disappoint. Showed me the donuts before I left. Small detail shows pride in the product. Great service!

If I could give 6 stars I would. Where do I start…The place is as if you went back into time…simple but nostalgic. The staff are so polite. The donuts are heaven. This weekend we tried the pineapple fritter and maple pecan cinnamon roll. The pineapple fritter was a luau in my mouth. The roll was light yet so flavorful. These were so darn good. The price is affordable and these donuts compete well to other local shops. In the last two months we have stopped by a couple of times and we WILL be back, but arrive early because the specialty donuts go quick!

This is a classic donut shop that sells the best donuts in the city. Not only are the donuts delicious but they also sell Messenger Coffee too! I highly recommend giving Mr. D's a chance as your preferred donut shop because you will not regret it.

WOW! The donuts are absolutely delicious and soft! We had the maple & chocolate long John and I will definitely be going back for more. The employee was extremely nice, the counter service was easy peasy. Will definitely be going back!

After all these years, the donuts here are still amazing. I’ve been going to Mr. D’s donuts since I was a little kid going to Shawanoe Elementary school in the 90’s. I live in New Mexico these days, but whenever I come back to KC, I still come here for donuts. This place is hands down the best donut shop I’ve been. I always get the chocolate Long Johns, Honey-dip, and a raspberry/strawberry filly every time. Other donut shops don’t make the donuts like they do here. I’m glad that Mr and Mrs D were able to retire and teach the new owners their recipe to keep the legacy going. I will very much miss the D’s after all these years. Please come here to have the best donuts!

We used Mr. D's donuts for our wedding and we couldn't be happier with how things turned out! First, the owners (Johnny and Bonnie) were so helpful and sweet! They helped us make decisions regarding what we wanted served and were so accommodating when we asked to meet for a tasting. They also sent us the sweetest note for our wedding and followed up to make sure everything went smoothly. They are such amazing people! The donuts were INCREDIBLE and all of our guests loved them. We had such a difficult time choosing what to serve because we loved every single flavor of donut. We ordered more than enough and they were all gone very, very quickly because our guests enjoyed them SO much. We will definitely be back and would recommend this donut shop to anyone!

So mad at myself I didn’t come here sooner. I love a good cake donut and holy cow…Both the frosted and the plain were incredible. They were out of the raised donuts by the time I got there at, but I’ll definitely be back to try those too.

So impressed with Mr. D’s Donut shop! They delivered my daughter’s birthday donuts in a timely manner! They look wonderful and were very kind. We will only be shopping here when it comes to donuts! Thank you for making my daughters birthday! I want to add someone from the store came to deliver the donuts after hours during a snow storm to make this possible!! :)

I had not had a Mr. D's donut in almost 10 years because I used to find them to be WAY too greasy and not very good. Was craving a donut at the OP Farmers Market and decided to give them another shot. I'm not sure what changed but they were amazing. One of the best Apple Fritters I have ever had. It had huge chunks of apple in it, which is a rarity in fritters anymore, and had the perfect level of crispy edges with a soft chewy inside. My wife loved her chocolate long john. She said it was tender and chewy with a nice light coating of chocolate that didn't overwhelm the tastebuds. It definitely won't be 10 years before we return this time. Might be our new favorite donut shop.

Mr. D’s is the best! All the donuts I have tried have been fantastic and service is always conducted with a smile. Very well run!
