Flying Pig Bookstore

The Flying Pig bookstore in Vermont is one of my absolute favorite bookstores. Not only is the selection of books fantastic, but the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming to our furry friend. Even after three years since our last visit, she still remembered us and greeted us warmly. This bookstore truly values its customers, and I highly recommend it over large chain bookstores like Barnes and Noble and Amazon. Let's support independent bookstores like The Flying Pig!

Fantastic independent bookstore! Great selection and they have (or sponsor) events. It's also a good place to park for a short walk around town.

Nice gem of a bookstore much like places in Manhattan's Greenwich village. Amazing selection of books with an up to date collection of the current best seller, don't see what you want just ask they'll get it for you.

Clean, well stocked and organized. Bright. The children's through YA sections and local subjects/authors were particularly strong, but not just for kids.

Love this place they can order any book you want and the Shelburne Inn is a beautiful historic building!!! Win win!!

Cute book store. Had an array of sections to browse. The staff were SO attentive and eager to help. (They were helping a shopper find a suitable book as a gift for a young person.) It was refreshing to see the staff work as a team to help the shopper. Great little shop!!!

My whole family loves this bookstore! They are the epitome of why I try to shop locally as much as possible. They're so helpful, always have wonderful reading suggestions for my elementary age daughters, and go above and beyond with their customer service. Went in with a group of kiddos after a hike was postponed due to the rain. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful in helping us find books to read aloud. Then gave our group free bookmarks! Would definitely come to check out their selection again!

What a beautiful bookstore! This little gem is nestled in the heart of Shelburne Village and will capture your attention and creativity the moment you step inside . Filled with books and stories just waiting to unfold, it is worth the visit.

In my case, Elizabeth (the owner) was SO kind as to delay closing time for me so that I might purchase my beloved #JohnChurchman children's (and grownup!) books about little bottle lamb #SweetPea and her friends. Without this kindness, my great grand-nieces might have missed out! Such gratitude for her and her little slice of heaven ~ a beautiful energy!

Great staff and comfortable independent bookstore made for lazy browsing. If you don't find something on the shelf, they'll order it in.
