Grand Street Lenexa

Ate here earlier this week and had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. My dinner guest has mobility issues and uses a cane; a gentleman at the host stand kindly offered her his arm and escorted her to our table while I parked the car. Our server had a darling, warm personality and was just the right level of attentive - not annoying but she checked in enough so that we never needed anything. Food was delicious. It's not super loud in the restaurant, which is unusual (and nice). Our server even went out of her way to wait at the front door for us and hold it open when we left. Glad to have GS in Lenexa!

We had my daughter's 50th Birthday party there! EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT! From the staff, the private room, the food, the service, etc. We had a fabulous time! It was our first time at this restaurant! We will be going back just to dine for dinner! Love everything about this restaurant! Check it out!

Grand Street is a treasure. The sherry BBQ glazed smoked pork chops were simply divine! Our server (Jonny) was charismatic and very knowledgeable of the menu. Once dinner is complete don't pass up a chance to post up to the bar. Caleb (bartender) will keep the libations flowing while providing great conversation.

Short Ribs were tasty and delightful!

Can't say enough about Grand Street.

Visited passing through from OK to WI because of a family friends recommendation. Did not disappoint.

Each entrée was amazing. The desserts were worth coming for all on its own. Tons of flavor. The presentation was lovely and so appetizing.

This is worth the stop.

Amazing atmosphere.

Very classic style in the restaurant and welcoming host. Seated immediately, but seemed their was an issue with server’s designated location initially but my friend and I didn’t mind since the menu looked exquisite. When the waiter arrived he provided an overview of the menu and let us know that their menu has just been updated for this fall.
So many amazing menu items that it was hard to chose from. We ended up ordering two pasta dishes - both were absolutely amazing and also split a side of fried Brussel sprouts. Pappardelle which is a sweet corn cream, jalapeño, charred corn, shrimp, basil, and goat cheese and Garganelli which is scimeca’s italian sausage, pepperonata, spinach, basil, Gorgonzola cream, pecorino. After a delicious meal we couldn’t help but order a dessert. So, we finished off the night with Phyllo Wrapped brownie which was oh so good and a Lemon Poppyseed Cheesecake. Both were so delicious and worth ordering. Can’t wait to come back!

Not enough good things to say! A somewhat unexpected find on our part but great food (sea bass and short rib were both fantastic), great service, and a good, not-overpriced wine list. Highly recommend

I just had some of the absolute best service I've had at any restaurant. Our server Phil was extremely knowledgeable and attentive throughout the evening. The food was probably honestly underpriced for the quality and attention to detail you could tell was put into each dish. The Bar staff whipped our table up some incredible cocktails, including a perfect French 75. And don't sleep on dessert! The apple pie was a stunning way to finish a fantastic meal.

Wonderful lunch. Super attentive service. Love the pretzels and fondue. Pastrami sandwich was perfect. Hand crafted chips were a bit stale. Old Fashion was best I have had in a while. My wive loved the strawberry jalapeño drink. Spicy!

Loved the menu for Valentines! Would like to see these options on the regular menu. Would go more often but the menu does not seem to rotate very much, however food is great, just need to have more variety from standard menu.

Great food and drink plus staff equals a must try cafe! Shout out to Caleb an excellent bartender who puts customers first and smiles for miles! Had the salmon with risotto, green beans and great sauce! Also lots of healthy hearty menu options.

Definitely great experience. Our server, Emrie, was on top of everything with great service. We didn’t feel rushed and had a very pleasant dinner. I had crusted trout with potatoes and Brussel sprout sauce and my wife had salmon. Thur evening and they have half off wine bottles. We arrived at 5 pm, the bar was busy but dining room had few people. By 630pm, the dining room was busy. Thanks Emrie, for the five star service.

I've been here for lunch and dinner. Sometimes with small groups and others with large groups. I haven't been disappointed yet. There have been some very minor flaws at times, but overall, a good experience. The lunches and dinners aren't what I want to type about though.

It's the happy hour and those apps. First off, the drinks and apps are priced well for the quality that they are. On a recent happy hour visit with friends, we decided to forego the entrees and situate ourselves at the bar and go appetizer crazy.

Every selection was great. The deviled eggs are tasty, and that spear of candied bacon crowning the top takes them to that next step upward. Equally as good were the steamed buns filled with soy glazed pork belly. You actually have your choice of 5 different fillings. I think I'll try them with smoked pastrami next time. That sound interesting.

Next on the rotation were the soft pretzels. They were delivered soft and warm. They came with green apple wedges and beer mustard. I let the others eat up those accompaniments, but they had to fight me to get to that white cheddar fondue. A perfect pairing with the pretzel. On deck next was the tuna tartare. Joining the plate were avocado, wasabi cream, citrus ponzu, sesame oil, and hot mustard crackers. Throw on some wasabi peas, and they have themselves a hit.

To finish up our onslaught of appetizers was the crème de la crème of them all in my opinion, the salmon trio. House cured pastrami gravlax, smoked salmon riblettes, salmon caviar, all served with double thick potato chips and marinated cucumber. The pastrami gravlax was just decadent.

Great appetizers, great drinks, a great bartender, and great friends had me leaving with a smile.

My girlfriend and I ate here the other day and really enjoyed our experience. I don't often start reviews with the service, but Micah was outstanding. I had a question about a nearby shop and he didn't know the answer, but went so far as to call them up and inquire about my question. Not related to the food, but he went above and beyond with his service.

As far as the food goes, it was great. We started out with the crab wontons and that was the only minor complaint we had. They were a little lacking on filling.

I had the halibut which was moist and flaky, but also was paired with arancini that were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.

My girlfriend had the pork, which she was excited that it came with hominy; however, unfortunately, they were out. Micah recommended the mashed potatoes and they certainly did not disappoint.

I would definitely return.

Edit: we returned and had another good experience (added pictures at the end), not as much from the food standpoint, but our server was excellent again.

We started off with the white cheddar fondue and pretzels, which were easily the best part of the meal. Just a great classic pair and both very well done.

Unfortunately, the entrees weren't as good. I had the salmon, the latkes, spinach, and beets were fabulous, but the salmon was a little overdone. Not to the point that I had to send it back, but it was not a highlight.

My girlfriend had the pork chop and we had to send it back. She was sawing at it with her steak knife and didn't want to send it back, but it was just way too overdone (included pics of both, below). The second time it came out it was perfectly cooked.

Our server, Ashley, handled it extremely well and bought us dessert for our trouble, which was completely unnecessary, but appreciated!

The mushroom spring rolls were playful and unexpected with great presentation. I ordered an extra to take home, it was so good. The vanilla creme brulee was perfectly bruleed.

Visiting Kansas City for the holidays, and Grand Street was a 2 min walk, convenient. Food, service was excellent. My husband had a BBQ pork chop and we had Salmon, oh my favorite!

Service was outstanding! Food exceptional. Atmosphere wonderful. We will be returning with more friends. Overall very accommodating with special requests.

I hosted a bridal shower luncheon at Grand Street in Lenexa. I worked with Liz creating a personalized menu for the guests. She was so helpful. The food was fabulous, and the room looked so pretty and everyone truly enjoyed themselves. Song was our server and she was excellent.

A fun time enjoying friends, drinks, and great food. Their menu covers the range of tastes and desires that satisfied all four of us, and made me want to come back and try other dishes. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. My advice, whether you live in the KC southern burbs, or are visiting, put this restaurant on your list. The portions were generous, so bring an appetite. I attached some menu photos (and they also have a drinks menu).

Unique place in city center Lenexa. Great menu choices and a wide variety of drink options. Ordered chicken salad, tuna tartare, moscow mule, and a negroni. A bar area in the lower level and a lot of space. Definitely worth checking out.

I have been to the location this restaurant has on the plaza, and I have to say that one is excellent, and I think this one is even better! The layout is a bit more spread out, and gives a more intimate feeling. The food was amazing, everything we had was top notch, our server was fantastic and overall we just had a lovely evening. The portions are huge, for the money there's easily two meals no problem. I'll definitely be going back, and definitely be having my leftover pork chop tomorrow!
