I love this campground. There is a lot to do for n the grounds itself and in the surrounding area. The pool is a big hit with kids and it’s really well maintained. There is a pond that’s stocked with fish if that’s your thing. There are events for kids and families all the time, and I know candy bar bingo was a hit for our family. The staff is very caring and seems to know everyone on site. I’m definitely coming back with my family.

I absolutely love this place . I have been camping here for over 20 years. The staff is outstanding and dog friendly. You cannot not find a better location. There is a lot to explore in this area of the Pine barrens .

Very peaceful campground with an excellent staff. Maintenance keeps place very clean. Guy and Sal go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Great pool, too. Make sure you bring bug spray! Mosquitoes are pretty bad.

It's clean, friendly with lots of activities on the weekends. Quiet this time of year. Close enough to shore areas and kayaking. We usually just go for long weekends after labor day. Smithville is close by too.

It's a nice little simple campground about 60/40 of annuals and weekly campers. My wife and I spent 2 summers there until we moved to Florida. There's plenty to do nearby including the town of Smithville which seems like it is having a festival almost every other week during the season.

The management at Chestnut Lake work very hard to keep the customers and the grounds clean. They sincerely take pride in the work they do. The bathrooms and showers are impeccable. They have events for their guests and they have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable with my service dog. Literally everyday I head out to either the pool or walking my dog they are friendly and kind. Prior to coming my service dog vest broke and I had one shipped to the office and found out upon arrival deliveries are supposed to be sent to another location. I apologized up and down and they very simple said no worries its something need. We totally understand. The landscaping is very nice with flowers throughout the park. Chestnut Lake is part of the thousand island trails rv pass which is a wonderful campers program where it let's you stay camping at their campgrounds for a low monthly fee and you have no cost for camping. They have a pool table, a boat and canoe along with horseshoes and many other fun amenities. This site is a campers dream. They also have a great playground.... With or without kids you will find it to be a wonderful camping experience......happy camping

Excellent camping locating!
This is my first time using my Thousand Trails membership and this campground was a very good experience. Location has lots of different type of spots that work for your setup whether you have a camper/RV or tent or want a cabin. The main area has a nice clubhouse, pool, games, bathrooms, laundry, etc. Lots of facilities just check the website! The staff was VERY friendly as well.

The sites are a little close to each other so it may be difficult for bigger vehicles to get in and out of. That was my only concern, I have a small 21 foot camper so I’m sure bigger vehicles may have a tough time parking into spots

We stayed here as a Thousand Trails member during the week. Beautiful pool area and nice playground for children. Lounge had a pool table & flat screen TV. Families were fishing in the lake. Sites are a bit small but do have picnic tables and fire pits. Quite a few flies but we were close to the water. About 30 minutes from Atlantic City and 15 minutes from Egg Harbor Township. Hopefully miniature golf will be updated in the future. We would stay here again.

Nice and quiet Park. I wish they had a little bit more space between campers.

One thing that I didn't like was, the sewer line comes out of the ground to high up, making it difficult to have a gravity water flow. I had to play with my sewer pipe every day or tow, to empty out the water in the sewer hole.

Very nice and friendly customer service at front desk.

Grass on the camping ground needs a big improvement, many places look like bald spots on my head due to hair loss.

Verizon signal is very strong here, I was able to watch online streaming videos.

Overall, I liked this place and will go again, would recommend for anyone who looks for a nice and quiet place with friendly people.

Have been camping here for 2 years now via the thousand trails membership. Used to camp locally at blue berry camp ground but the place has gone down hill and the owners have not been putting money into the property

Back to chestnut lake -

Staff is very friendly and helpful with any issues. Charlie the property maintenance person is super nice and works hard to keep the campground clean and tidy. Can't say enough good things about this man.

The camp ground was recently purchased by thousand trails and since then has put in a lot of money into renovating a majority of the grounds.

Thousand trails is redoing each camp ground they buy in stages so expect a lot more renovations at each place in the near future. They recently did the check in office, pool, play ground, volleyball court, adult lounge and the rear bathhouse. They did not cheap out on this and if you saw what it looked like before you would be amazed. Which I saw the whole renovation process and was.

All and all I will continue to camp here for years to come. And to the comments about bugs and mosquitos, well come to New Jersey. Everywhere you go in the summer will have them.

Camp here you won't be disappointed.

My family loved this campground! The lake, fishing and boating kept my two children entertained much more than their "electronic devices." The new pool is clean and right up there with a five star resort. Whenever I went to the office, Midge, Eileen and Ann were very helpful. Will go back again and again.

This campground made some changes and as you can see the pool area is beautiful, they built a new rec center, have a playground, and the front of the park are some older people who aren't noisy at night, but if you like it more lively, you can go to the back area and find the ones that like to sit around the bonfire and congregate. They do have a Lake for fishing also. My friend has a membership for Thousand Oaks and they are a part of the package.

Great people. Charlie wonderful person. Very helpful with a problem. Grounds restrooms pool extremely clean because of the maintenance person Charlie. Revised 2 years later. Conditions are terrible. Attitudes in office need to be curbed

Great place. You can have woods or open spaces. All facilities with wifi and cable. A great campground to explore the jersey Shore. Staff knows how to treat weekenders as well as full-timers.
