I had been here before when you were able to park in the dirt area surrounding the memorial.that has been changed but nothing else has.
This is an impressive memorial for Emilio Carranza right off the road. It is free to enter and plenty of parking on either side of memorial.

I love this monument have been visiting here since childhood the area and trails in this area are beautiful and oh so peaceful. There's a campground that is tent only across the street as well. There is an out house to use its a little walk away from the monument. I visit this area daily and never get tired of seeing it. Remember carry in carry out don't be dirty and leave trash because if you do that's very trashy and locals do not appreciate it at all.

This historic site was erected in honor of Mexicos brave first international pilot Emilio Carranza. He crashed near this monument that was funded by Mexican students thoughtful donations. Every year on the second Saturday in July they have a reenactment and celebration for this brave embassator of peace. It is beautiful and you get a calm feeling at this remote location.

Memorial to the great flyer Emilio Carranza.
Literally in middle of nowhere.
Wouldn’t recommend coming unless you have another reason to be here.

We visit this area often with our dogs. They always enjoy the extended walks we take them on, and we enjoy the simple beauty of the Jersey Pines. The only downside is that the parking area and the trails closest to it are often littered with massive piles of horse manure. I know cleaning up after a horse is not as easy as picking up after a dog, but perhaps the horses could enter the trails just up the road near the railroad tracks to keep the mess away from the parking lot nearest the Memorial.

A perfect neighbor to Aurora's memorial.

Great monument hidden in the Pine Barrens commemorating Mexican pilot Emilio Carranza. The ambassador of peace, hope and Goodwill between the USA and Mexico. He was also known as the Mexican Lindbergh (Charles Lindbergh)

Feelings about this place may vary.
There is little else but the memorial and the story of the man. I find it a place of quiet reflection for a young man who was a goodwill ambassador for peace whose life met an early and tragic end.
If you visit with this intent, then the place may touch your soul.

I'm glad this monument exists, but I was distressed to see what poor repair it is in. I do wish more people would visit and consider the incredible daring it to fly those planes in their heyday.

Site of the crash of the pilot who was called the “Mexican Lindbergh”. He crashed on his return trip from Mexico City to NYC and back.
