Probably the best week to enjoy this preserve. Yellow and white trials were great way to see a lot of the preserve but it was a quick 3 mile hike.
You’ll see a lot to include a frog or snake. Lots of birds!

Took this trail on a whim for a Labor Day hike. It's very easy to access and forgiving of beginners. There is abundant plant and wildlife and many water features. The beginner's red trail is also highly visible and well-marked.

Clean blazed trails. Could be out there all day, so many trails with a good distance depending on preference.

My first trip into the Franklin Parker Preserve was incredible! I’ll have to look into it’s history before it was purchased for preservation in 2003. I parked at the Speedwell entrance and rode my bike on the white trail and most of the yellow trail. I didn’t see many animals but I really enjoyed the diversity of the landscape. The highlight of my adventure was seeing my first blue hole and minutes later seeing another one! I have heard about these sinkholes that expose groundwater but never saw one in person before. I did take a wrong turn on the yellow trail at the south end. I wound up on a farm and had to turnaround after checking the map. Most trails are for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. Some trails are only meant for hiking like the portion of the 53 mile Batona Trail which was built in 1961 and recently was rerouted through the preserve. I can’t wait to explore the rest of this 16 square mile tract!

The Franklin Parker Preserve is a beautiful place to go and enjoy the day in nature. Easy hikes and multiple different trails to choose from. Also an excellent place for birdwatching. There are benches surrounding the water where you can watch the birds fly.

Nice trail it was a awesome day to enjoy it. We did yellow trail 5.3 miles, flat easy walk went around 11am and only saw a few people towards the end, the lot was full when we finished at 1pm. Saw a rack of canoes by a lake like feature need to find out if anyone can use.

The Franklin Parker Preserve is a gem and true treasure of our state.Bizarre and beautiful natural sights abound through this land; and the long trails make for a thorough hike. There are also many intentional artistic scenes and structures you might pass by, but this vast preserve keeps it's secrets well. This place is one of my favorite places to walk, think and observe the beauty of the Pinelands.

Stumbled across this place while taking a drive in the Pine Barrens. Fantastic bird watching/photography. Bring some good footwear because a few of the trail connections are washed out.

Very nice for a hike. There are many trails, and they very easy to follow; the terrain is flat. Use bug spray before you go.

Great walks on a former cranberry farm. Sandy paths between the re-natured bogs. Flat and a bit bleak - reminiscent of some parts of northern Germany. Nice and quiet - on a
Saturday we came across only three groups of people over the course of a couple of hours; but it was a relatively hot early-July day. Friends have observed turtles laying eggs there.

Nice hiking trails. Quiet. Rustic but has port a pot at the Rt 563 entrance which I never found dirty or messy. This is unusual at a rustic wildlife area and is much appreciated.

I often go here for Meteor showers in the middle of the night (2 - 5am). As far as I could find it is the darkest spot in southern NJ with a wide open treeless sky. I walk to the center for the best view. You can see the band of the Milky Way and more stars than you could imagine. I prefer to go in late fall, winter and early spring to view since the mosquitoes can get bad in the warmer months. Bring a flashlight, some friends and some blankets to enjoy the show.
