Stayed one night. Hotel Lobby and Restaurant very clean and nice. Room was very nice and clean. Love the antique furniture. Very quaint. Food in the bar was excellent and the bartender made us a couple of outstanding maple Martinis. Great atmosphere.

Cool, elegant and accommodating. Don't let the secret out. Located in the middle of everything. Parking is the only drawback. Only 4 spots in rear bank parking lot. Plenty of off season street parking; however, most were taken by sunset. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our corner room was clean and had a nice view of of the local shops and church.

I've always loved this Hotel, however the GM, Kathy, made it what it is. Hardworking, loyal and professional was her M.O.
Sorry to hear she's left. Going to be hard shoes to fill.
I must say it was more quaint before owners decided to incorporate the loud restaurant into the lobby of the Hotel.
It's in a perfect area of Lewes for visitors to enjoy.

A wonderful find. We spent the night and we stayed in the master suite with soaking tub. The room was large it had a very big shower king bed arm chair and a day bed. The room was very clean nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable the bed cover was so soft. The staff was extremely friendly. We will be back to enjoy another relaxing night

Great in every way. If you want a peaceful place to stay right in the very heart of everything that is walkable in the town of Lewes, this is the place. Everything, including restaurants, shopping etc is just outside the door of the hotel. The staff here is top notch, pleasant and answers all your questions. Rooms are very clean, well taken care of. This is an older building so the rooms are, as they say, just big enough. Nice parks and places to walk around. Even the beach is only about a 15 min walk across the canal. Places close early in the evening so plan accordingly. Keeps it peaceful and quiet unlike the typical shore town. Read up on the parking so you don't have issues. You really can ditch the car while here.

I work in hotel industry and have for 30 years. I work for a luxury Hyatt and this place was a step above as a boutique hotel and phenomenal bar.

Our stay at Hotel Rodney was perfect! Barbara at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. We looked everywhere for a place to stay and ended up parking in downtown Lewes. We saw Hotel Rodney and decided to pop in to see if there were any rooms available- and there was a perfect room for us! Barbara helped us get settled and recommended places to eat. The hotel is beautiful and historic. I would definitely return to Hotel Rodney when in Lewes again and to see Barbara!! -the girls from 203 :)

4 years ago: The usual place we stay in Lewes, DE, right on Second Street downtown, close to everything. The room smelled musty but, that could have been due to the humid weather. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was huge. Room could do with some updating. The brown decor went out in the 70s. Stayed for a week and have no real complaints - we enjoyed ourselves.
8/5/22 - Update: Stayed for a long weekend at the hotel. Staff was very cooperative and promptly fixed a clogged sink in the bathroom when we reported it. Had a suite and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Only thing that could be improved is towel rails next to the vanity and an additional towel rail where the shower is situated. Otherwise, the hotel is well situated with restaurants, shopping & the town beach within walking distance. Cape Henlopen State Beach is a 5-10 minutes drive. Will stay there again in the future.
7/17/23 - Back at the Rodney for another week's stay and booked a suite again. This is our fifth or sixth stay in the hotel and we've tried the whole range of rooms on offer. For location and cost, you can't beat the lodgings!

The staff are so nice and friendly! Everything was clean and comfortable. Even though our room was quite small, it was adequate and there was even a small fridge. The bathroom was beautiful. The best part of the place was the old style elevator! A more refined and elegant alternative to many of the typical beach motels.

I stayed at Hotel Rodney in Lewes, Delaware b/c l was a guest speaker at a Symposium hosted by the Lewes Historical Society. The conference room is spacious, modern, well-lit and comfortable. The lobby is warm and welcoming. And the rooms are cozy and well-appointed. Somehow they've managed to combine Old World charm with modern conveniences. Highly recommended.

King suite with the soaking tub and HUGE walk in shower was fantastic. Definitely enjoyed our stay. The hotel was beautiful. Would definitely recommend and go back if we ever come back to Lewes.

I recently arrived at The Rodney to find that there had been a mix up with my reservation and I was booked for two weeks earlier and had been classed as a "no show". What could have been an embarrassing discussion of where the fault lay was immediately avoided by the management team who made a room available without any fuss or bother. Their professional and elegant approach matches the quality of the establishment. This is a fabulous little escape hotel with a great location, super rooms and excellent service. Lewes is gorgeous and perfect for strolling or some beach time. Highly recommended

Loved the location and the attentive staff. The bed was great and the rooms are spotless. While certainly not a deal breaker, there is no secured place to put bikes you don't want to lock up outside. Bring a junker, rent a clunker, bring your running shoes, or just get fat. ; )

We loved it! My husband and I came here not knowing what to expect and were very pleased. It's nestled in between these adorable shops surrounded by a historic neighborhood. Close to amazing restaurants - especially Agave right across the street. Downsides are parking availability and somewhat thin walls. Also, there is no mini fridge in deluxe rooms which wasn't a big deal for us as weekend travelers but if you're staying longer it could be.

I found this hotel to be excellent. They do not offer breakfast but there are so many cafés within 2 minutes walk that that doesn't matter. The staff are more than polite; they are charming and welcoming. Bedrooms are very comfortable and attractive with large shower rooms. It is very well designed and decorated. I was very happy here.

I can see how parking could be an issue, though I didn't actually have trouble getting a spot. Great location and nice little rooms

Great location, retro but very updated style. Stayed in the suite which was ample in size for two adults and two children (under 10). Comfortable bed and nice bath. HVAC could be quieter but nothing awful. Luckily got a parking spot out back but that could be a hassle in the busier season since there only a few spots. Very clean. We will return.

Great location, staff is so accommodating and friendly.
Rooms are clean, but small. It's what we expected for an older well kept hotel. Thanks for the nice time!

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely, helpful staff; our room was well appointed and the location in the center of Lewes cannot be beat. It was nice and quiet on the second floor and we will definitely return.
