I went to Heirloom tonight with a friend and we LOVED everything about this dining experience from the second we walked in. Everything went smoothly with our reservations and the owner seated us -- that doesn't happen at most restaurants!!

I loved absolutely everything I ate. We ordered a cheese board, and steak tartare to start. AMAZING. My friend ordered a pasta dish and I got the pork chop which was a way bigger portion than I imagined because some of these weirdo reviews said the portions were small?? They're absolutely not. We were unfortunately way too full for dessert. Definitely trying something sweet next time!

I wish I could remember our servers name but she was sooo sweet and knowledgeable.

I found the owner to be amazing. She was helping her staff all throughout the evening and was super friendly. I cannot wait to go back and try something new!

Tremendously good food in a contemporary (and slightly adorably hipster) setting. Really exceptional meal, and we love how the menu changes with the months and local food availability--we'll definitely come back to see what's new. The burrata salad with citrus and dukka was so flavorful it's crazy, and the chicken and mushroom pierogies were just perfect little umami bombs. The potato leek soup was the best I've had--but I will say the portion was a little stingy. I'm not sure why it's such a thing for higher-end restaurants to do right now, serving a quarter cup of soup in a gigantic bowl, but it's definitely a thing and it is annoying. For the price (especially because soups are generally cheap for restaurants to produce), I'd expect more.

For our mains, I had crispy skin arctic char and my husband had duck, and everything was outstanding. We especially appreciated the sides--seeing the same mashed/fingerling potatoes/risotto/pilaf on the sides of main dishes everywhere gets so incredibly boring. Heirloom got creative, and I had crispy mushrooms, broccolini, and beets with a lemon-caper-horseradish sauce, and my husband had beet sauerkraut and root veg croquettes.

The pavlova was on the too-sweet side, but we were still happy to see it on a menu because it's just not common over here. Only downside overall was the difficulty finding parking, but that's what happens when a small town has a thriving food scene. Just get there early so you can park and walk. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we'll be back.

The food was absolutely amazing. Every bite was delicious! The menu is creative, fresh and changes each month based on seasons and what is available locally. We ordered the salad, heirloom tomato appetizer, scallops, pork chops and panna cotta. Again... we loved every bite! The service was excellent as well. We can't wait to go back again.

I can't say enough wonderful things about our dinner at Heirloom! We were in Lewes and wanted to find someplace special to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Heirloom was PERFECT! The Victorian home was decorated with such care and attention to detail for the late summer season. The service was warm and attentive without being tooo attentive. But the real star was the food! The menu was crafted to elevate all the tastes of August and we enjoyed everything we ate from the tomato butter on housemade bread to the chicken with corn and patty pan squash to the tuna with blueberry ponzu sauce to the housemade summer squash & pine nut ravioli. Oh and desert! We just couldn’t decide on one, so we ordered all three! (We were a party of 4 but in retrospect I would have made the same choice if it was just two of us!) We could not decide which dessert was the best, they were all so good. We can’t wait to return and will make a visit to Heirloom an annual tradition!

Best meal I’ve had in years. Everything was perfect! Tomato appetizer, scallop entree, pork loin entree, and the Sour Cream Panna Cotta for dessert. Andrea was amazing. Super knowledgeable and her descriptions were spot on. Can’t wait to come back!

Wow! We had dinner here tonight in celebration of my birthday.
The service and food were excellent

The service was incredible and every detail was paid attention to. We had the grilled octopus that was cooked to perfection; braised lamb tender and delicious and the double cut pork chop was spectacular.

Can't wait to make reservations again!

Wow... just... wow. Whomever is in that kitchen knows what they're doing! Menu is smallish, but the quality of what came out of the kitchen was astounding, and probably the finest meal we've been served in a very long time. I'm a Steak Tartare snob, and what I was served last night was the best I've had in a decade. It was lovely and comfortable inside (if you've got mobility issues, you'll need to deal with a few stairs - I use a walker, and it was a trick, but the stairs are wide enough to support one, and I got in and out without much fuss). Service was super-friendly and on-point too.

I finally got a chance to dine here while visiting my parents for a recent birthday and Heirloom lived up to (and exceeded) its reputation as the best restaurant in Delaware.

From food to service to ambiance this was not only the best meal I've ever had in DE, but probably one of the top five meals of my life. A perfect 2.5 hour dining experience.

I won't speak about specific dishes, since they are mostly seasonal, but with such thoughful food, wine, and cocktail menus, you can't go wrong. Thanks for the TELEPATHIC service, Caitlin! Can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu.

What a glorious restaurant...locally sourced with unique combinations of spring veggies. From foraged mushroom soup with fiddlehead ferns and crispy shaved beets to salad with shaved asparagus and intensely flavored lamb specks to MD rockfish and whale-sized crispy soft shelled crabs, every dish was delightful. Service was the right blend of attention to detail and monitoring us from afar. We hope to return on Saturday!

This restaurant is an excellent execution of the fresh farm-to-table concept. The building is small, and inviting, and the staff was so nice across the board. They were very flexible and knowledgeable, a nice selection of drinks and some unique and delicious meals. We enjoyed a chicken dish, salad, soup, everything was excellent. We sat outside and even though the evening was a bit warm it was still a very pleasant dining experience across the board. Definitely recommend checking them out.

We loved Heirloom and will be back. The food was fresh, local in many cases and the portions were very plentiful. The prices were reasonable too. This was a nice meal for our Anniversary. We had 3 drinks in total, 2 appetizers, each had a meal and shared a dessert for a total of $137. Staff was friendly and nice as well.

Worth a trip from Rehoboth. Definitely. Worth a trip from DC ... Absolutely. Every bite on every plate added something. Every element executed with precision. Plus an amazing setting.
Our seasonal journey started with venison tartare with a host of flavorful accompaniments. A very grown up version of fish and chips is the corn fried Southern Grouper with roasted fingerling potatoes, Kennett Square trumpet mushrooms, braised leeks, shaved brussels sprouts, herb mustard, and parsnip puree.
Equally good the Rockfish with roasted butternut squash ,collard greens, shallots, blistered turnips, shiitake mushrooms, miso-mushroom broth. Fall never tasted so good.
A final treat was the sweet potato gallette with an amazing rosemary ice cream.
Can't wait for a next trip to the shore.

We decided to treat ourselves to a nice fancy night out, my wife and I, for her birthday. Heirloom DID NOT disappoint!
We were greeted with smiles and excellent service. The atmosphere was beautiful and clean!
The food was the best I've had. I had the Amish chicken, my wife had the rockfish and it melted in our mouths! I've never had brussel sprouts so FRESH. The flavor were out of this world. Also, everything came out with perfect timing. The only regret is we didn't have room to order the cheese after our entrees! That is a must for us for next time.

My Heirloom experience was on par with Michelin rated restaurants. Attention to detail is obvious and portion sizes will not disappoint. Book your reservation, clean yourself up nice and get ready for exceptional dining in Lewes.

The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing! The homemade sourdough with honey black-pepper butter was delicious. Every dish was perfection!

First visit to Heirloom to celebrate an anniversary. The meal was an "Event", everything was delicious. Can't wait to return to try something new. Maybe for my birthday. Pictured is the mushroom soup, pork belly and fried chicken. No salt and pepper needed it's not even on the table.

This is the BEST place to celebrate a special occasion or just to treat yourself any night of the week!

The food is thoughtful, locally sourced, beautiful and, of course, delicious! We love the seasonal cocktails and the decor is my absolute favorite.

Highly recommended, always!
