Villa Sorrento

Found this wonderful establishment recently . After perusing the menu I noticed something that I knew this restaurant was a true old school Italian spot. Saw calamari in red sauce with capers over pasta! My absolute favorite part of my life long seven fish dinner for Christmas Eve ! Brought back memories of my mom mom and her sisters in the kitchen preparing our Christmas Eve feast with each sister’s expertise in certain dishes . Ordered take out on my first trip and was wowed with the quality of food I got as takeout as wife was in hospital at time. On my return trip with wife and another couple was once again Wowed with the quality of authentic Italian food that can be found absolutely no where in this area . My new go to spot been back 4 times since and we are ordering takeout again tonight . Grew up in south Philadelphia and this is on par to the best and oldest Italian restaurant in the city Ralph’s in the Italian market !

What a lovely dining experience! We were desperate for lunch and although they didn't open for a 1/2 hour the lovely hostess/server kindly welcomed us and allowed us to be there prior to opening. We enjoyed warm bread, soup, caeser salad and some pasta. It was a lovely meal but what really made our experience great was the staff and service. Many thanks for a lovely meal!

Came in here with just myself. I was the only one here and I must say it was soothing as can be. Had the veal Marsala and was not disappointed. Great atmosphere with amazing nostalgic music to make you feel at peace. Will definitely return and please thank Mara for the warm and welcoming service.

Food was delicious. Large portions and the owner always sings which is an added treat. Gluten free pasta too!

If you are looking for Italian cuisine at the beach make sure you stop at Villa Sorrento in Lewes, Delaware. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. The owner Mara DePace made us feel like we were having dinner at Grandmom's on a Sunday afternoon. She even sang Amore by Dean Martin beautifully for all of the patrons! Wonderful experience!

I love Villa Sorento the food is good and the portions are big. The staff is friendly and the waitress sings. It place could be a little bigger space-wise.

We hadn't been to the Villa Sorrento in a few years. We were reminded what we had missed and how very good this establishment is. The food was excellent, the menu is extensive for a smaller place. The owner, who sings upon request, was great and the service was fine. We brought along my 99 year old Italian mother-in-law who can be very critical of Italian cooking and she raved about it. We will make it a point to frequent this place more often.

Old style authentic Italian restaurant with all food made to order piping hot. Excellent service and very accommodating. Friendly atmosphere. Pricing reasonable

Deviously crafted Italian food. The chicken marsla is my favorite by far! Hubby always gets the manicotti and loves it. The pescatori was packed with seafood and enough for two helpings! This is a small place, so make sure you secure a reservation before you go!

First time dining here. Newly engaged, literally an hour before arriving. We got seated very quickly and our server, Mara, created the best experience we have ever had at a restaurant. She even sang us a song for our engagement. We will definitely be dining here again and again.

Great place for a date. They didn't have any herb and oil for the bread--only butter. But all the food was fresh and delicious! The service is attentive and hospitable. Definitely a spot to visit if you're seeking a cozy Italian restaurant.

Ordered eggplant parm dinner, veggie Stromboli, meatball parm sandwich, and antipasto salad. Everything was excellent. Highly recommended. Amazing old-school Italian food .

We love this little place. It is an absolute "gem" of a restaurant in the Lewes area! Italian food at its best!! Great appetizers, AMAZING entrees and a full bar, what else could you ask for? You won't be disappointed!

Moved to town in August and we got a bad Pizza that took forever. We are so happy we went back. We haven’t been back twice w our new neighbors and have fallen in love with their pasta and chicken dishes. Great place for lunch & dinner. And if your lucky you might get a little Opera out of the owner. PS have not tried the pizza again.

It was incredible. Pleasantly surprised. We thought it to be a small Italian diner. Far better. By Girlfriend just had surgery but wanted some Italian. We had seen Villa Sorrento several time as we passed by. The place was busy but we're were seated immediately. We started out with table bread( some type of sour dough). It was good but we did not want to be filled on bread. Then we had the Caprese Salad. It was good. I like Balsalmic glaze on mine. But still good. Then we had some soup( Italian weddong) very hearty and tasteful, the entre was the best. We tried something neither of us had before. It was a chicken dish w/ roasted peppers and asparagus cooked in a creamy garlic wine sauce. It was amazing. We have already told our neighbors about it. We will definately go again.
