Hawthorn Park Campground- Vigo County Parks

This is a sweet campground 10 minutes off I70. It was worth it.. Nice grav pads on large sites. Many pull thru and ez back in sites. Some sites have water and electric. Modern shower house. Plenty to do in the area. This Vigo County Rec and Parks group do an excellent job. They close for season Oct 17

Very relaxing place to escape the day to day or get in a free workout!!

We had a very nice stay here. Beautiful setting under mature trees. Flat pads at the tent sites. Water supply close by. Seems far away from any roads, very peaceful. Nice access for the trail system in the park for walking and biking. Also connects to bike trails outside the park. Cheap rates for camping, very worth it.

Loved our one night stay at this state park. Wish we could have stayed longer. Just passing through on our trip. My only complaint was gates close at 11. If you show up after, you lose your spot. Bathrooms were pretty well maintained and clean. Showers had hot water. Good for mid size RVs and tent camping. Pretty quiet.

This campground is a true hidden gem. The sites are large and easy to access for our 40ft long Skoolie. We had electric only on our site, but carry our own water and sewer amenities on board the Harmony Express. The campground is well shaded so the sun doesn't kill you. It's quiet and secluded. We camped on a Friday Night and there were lots of open spaces in the campground, so it was not crowded.

The lake in the park provide a great walking/hiking experience for my family and for me to get out and about. It was convenient to town to get supplies.

This is an awesome place to stop for a couple of days if you are full-time travelers or even as a stopover on a longer trip as our stop was.

The staff at the gatehouse were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful.

I enjoy this park it has a nice campground where you can do primitive camping and RV camping. The fire pits are clean and so are the restrooms. There are walking, bike and hiking trails with opportunities to see local wildlife! On the lake there are docks and areas for fishing as well as boat landings. I always enjoy going here whether walking around the labyrinth on the eastside of the park or hiking the trails or even photographing the locals flowers. Hawthorne park will not disappoint you.

Very quiet and peaceful place to camp. The lake is a fishing lake only, no swimming. The park is extremely well maintained and there are several walking trails for you to enjoy some time off the grid. Will absolutely be back to camp here!

We love camping and Hawthorn Park is a nice quiet place to camp the restroom we're clean lots of shade. A beautiful pond to go fishing. Try it you will be glad you did.

Best time ever, great weather

Last review was for a different RV park. Not sure how it got here. This park is great and will return again. Level spots and nice walking trails around the park.

Love this place. The outhouse in the primitive camping area is in need of attention. Needs batteries in air freshener and new window and cleaned

Hawthorn park campground is a very nice, clean, peaceful and relaxing place to camp, my wifr & i are very satisfied with our stay here and would very highly recommend this park to all..love it here !!

Good rates. $10 to $20 daily. Hot showers. Dump station. Primitive and electric camp spots.

Nice campground with fire rings and plenty of hiking, walking and bike trails

The camp was quiet and pretty the site patrons were super helpful and aided us when our rv was having mechanical ossues would go again

Use to go here when I was a teenager in the 90s it was awesome then and looks awesome still. Lots of amazing memories here.
