Prairie Creek Park- Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department

Came here during the eclipse with my fiance, soon to be brother and Sister in law and his girlfriend. This is a very nice park, it's quiet, clean and out of the way. They have a nice pavilion where we ate some yummy sandwiches and snacks 😊🥪 We then watched the eclipse, which looked so incredible that it doesn't even look real! It looks like Armageddon is coming! I'm glad I got to watch it with my fiance 😊 And while here, two new fiance's were made!

This park is a gem! Tucked away in Prairie Creek, you'll find a quiet retreat. Even on the ever popular last weekend of the camping year, Halloween, the park was full yet relatively serene. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the campsite host for our parking pass and received an informational pamphlet, too. Campsite #34 has water and electric with a dump station just around the corner. The shower house is close in proximity and was in great condition! Highly recommend camping at PCP!!

I thoroughly enjoy hiking the trails at this park! Elliott Woods is an added bonus!

Very well maintained campground and trails. Lots of kids playground equipment and clean bathrooms. Boat launch, fishing lake, exercise equipment, tent and RV camping. We've stayed here a few times and everyone was super nice and helpful. Gorgeous in the fall and spring! Truly a hidden secret and we will be back!

Absolutely one of the cleanest and well maintained parks you will ever visit. The bathrooms alone were spotless. The playgrounds are very well maintained. Just an overall great place.

We were heading home to Texas from Ohio, so we stopped here for the night. What a lovely campsite. The weather was perfect. We slept in a tent and I was comfortable all night.

Our family loves PCP for our family reunions! We have one here every year. Its a great fit for all ages. Beautiful grounds, hiking, a nice deck and pond for fishing, lots of animal life on the ground and in the water, shelter house with electricity, playground & a campground too!
If you enjoy nature, you will have a great time here!

Great park, away from everything and everyone. Camping, fishing, kids play ground, baseball, tennis. Nice bathrooms ...clean park. Decided to take the kids to the park and check-out any cicadas and we found tons

We enjoyed an overcast Sunday by getting outdoors and finding a new hiking trail. We visited Prairie Creek Park in Indiana. There is one 1.5 mile trail, Elliott Woods Trail, that winds through the woods and rolling landscape. (It really reminded me of East Tennessee.) There were hills but no huge staircases, as we've found on many other trails, and the colorful trees were stunning. Our youngest also loved visiting the playground before leaving (nice equipment!).

During our hike, we also found two stones hidden by Terre Haute Rocks (left them to be found again). #csrocksth

Never heard of this place so I was very surprised how big snd nice this place is. Has a playground for the little ones and a hiking trail and access to Elliot Woods. A lake to fish and camping spots to stay overnight at. Great place to check out.

This is a very nice family park . Very well kept and maintained . Went there for a school function . Will definitely go back .

We enjoyed our pancakes with the homemade maple syrup. We love camping here. This was our first time for the pancakes and syrup tour.

I love this park. Small but pretty. Trails are easy.

Great ball field. Quit get away nice Shelby’s and play ground. Very impressed

Great weekend to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and warm weather. Thursday,Friday, and Saturday were the best days. Unfortunately, it rained on Saturday night and became cold. This park is one of our favorite to visit. We will be back.

Great hiking trails!!! Campground sucks though

An amazing park. Comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. Playground is great for the kids, and the walking paths are excellent. Across from the park is also the Elliott Nature Preserve with a longer trail.

My kids loved it. Try to go when they're making maple syrup(in the winter). The maple syrup crew is very informative and nice. Walking trails are nice as well.

Its very clean. Well trimmed. Staff is amazing. Beautiful scenery. Great shower facilities. Couldn't ask for much more for the expenses. Well worth the trip. The lakes could use more fish, they get fished frequently. Maybe the county could get them some new picnic tables. You definitely have to try their homemade maple syrup. Mmmm good. Great job Prairie Creek staff!! We ll be back again! Thanks!

We love this park! It's never crowded, I think the most people I've ever seen at once were maybe 3 other families.

The park is clean and well taken care of, great place to go for a walk, have a picnic and there are multiple playground areas! ❤
