On any other given day this park probably would have had less Stars simply because I'm not much of a history buff. However, we visited the South after a ton of rain and pretty much every park we went to was flooded. Jenkins Ferry had the worst flooding. But, this gave us our most memorable state park visit because we were not leaving the park without that state park stamp! Luckily we had brought our kayaks along. So we explored the flooded park by kayak. We are experienced kayakers and took all precautions! If we are ever in the south close to this park again, I would like to stop by and see what it looks like when it's not flooded.

Has some picnic tables and some grills and a boat launch for when there is a good stream. I went for the historic values and was able to learn a bit about Arkansas history and see the area. Some folks was swimming but was worth the stop for us.

Small park with great views. Make sure you bring a marker or crayon for the passport station. There is no visitor's center

This is a nice, quiet park. The plaques explain the history of Jenkins Ferry very well. The location is somewhat out of the way, but once there, the seclusion is nice, offering some peace as the Saline River flows by.

Amazingly tranquil... nothing like that day during the Civil War were so many lost there lives. Lots of historical markers with facts and stories, a must if your into history, and a cool place to eat lunch at the picnic tables if not

Lovely place to visit, there wasn't a soul around for most of my exploration. The signs were very informative and definitely brought the battle to life. If there are any artifacts from the event, they are long lost to history or simply not emphasized to visitors. This really isn't surprising, it seems to have been a rather short winded skirmish intended to cripple the Yankees on their retreat back North, definitely not a typical battlefield, which only adds to the intrigue. The picnic tables are unusable for the most part, but that had no impact on my visit. Hope to go again.

The Camden Expedition was an abysmal failure from the point of view of its planners in Washington. But imagine being one of those people fleeing enslavement with the retreating union army …

One of Arkansas' smallest state parks. There has been many improvements made by the State Parks' department over the last year who continue to maintain the site. There is a cooking grill adjacent to the covered pavilion with a picnic table. There are also several other picnic tables scattered about the park. The park also has a boat ramp providing access to the Saline River. The parks department has also recently added several interpretive markers describing the Civil War battle that occurred near there. It's definitely worth a drive, especially during the fall, to enjoy the quiet of the place and have a picnic. The swimming hole adjacent to the park is a popular place for area residents during the summer months.

I love this place but i grew up here, some riff raff hangs around on late weekend nights but Ive never had a problem fishing here. Its raw nature and beautiful and you may find some civil war relics if you bring your metal detector.

Cool piece of history. I never knew this place was here. Can get a little muddy because it's in a flood zone. 1

Wonderful off-the-road day use historical park with a view of the Saline river. Pavillion, kayak launch, and picnic tables make this a comfortable place to spend some time as a family or relax in a hammock.
