Dr. Baize and his staff are fabulous. The Dr. Tried other ways of healing before we even talked surgery. That talk never happened. He definitely is about the patient and not money!

I started working here last year around November. I first met Dr Baize 10 years ago when I was hanging out with one of his nephews. I hadn't had much contact with him for the first few years of knowing him, but his family was planning a trip to go see him in Colorado, and asked if I would like to join. He is a really great person, kind caring, and very knowledgeable on many subjects. He has an expansive medical knowledge, and has been a huge help to the patients we see everyday. He makes sure he fixes the problem, and is very professional, and quick about his work. I have really enjoyed working with him, and the rest of the nurses at the clinic. The girls at the clinic really know there stuff, and are very good at keeping things moving along in the clinic. 5 out of 5 stars for working here, and I definitely recommend this place based on the professional care, and service they have been serving since I arrived.

Oh my goodness! Finally!!! A foot doctor in Batesville that understands the foot and what is needed to make a good arch support! I went a few weeks ago, with heel pain, and received a cortisone shot that kicked in rather quickly and alleviated my heel pain. I like the way he explained what's going on in my feet, and what my options are.

Same visit, after some Q&A about custom insoles, he made molds of my feet, taking care to position my foot carefully to give me the proper, custom support my feet have so desperately needed for the past 10 years.

I picked them up today, at which time he checked and made for certain they were the right fit. I can't remember the last time my feet were this happy. And if that isn't enough, he, and his staff, are all so friendly and helpful. In my new custom arch supports it was all I could do not to skip out of the office, with my newly happy feet! Thank you, Dr. Baize!!!

(Melissa) I have been to my primary care physician for sever pain in both feet. They could not find anything wrong. Made an appointment with Dr. Baize. He immediately knew what was wrong and how to treat it. Doctor Baize is an outstanding doctor and cares about his patients overall health as well. He and his staff are very professional and down to earth and I have complete confidence in him.

My husband has been to several doctors in Little Rock and received virtually no help. Since going to see Dr Baise last year my husband has been helped tremendously. No one could put shoes on him because of the Dystonia in his feet but Dr Baise has him in shoes!

Today was my first visit to A Step Ahead Foot & Ankle Clinic. The staff was friendly. Dr. Baize was very knowledgable, he was concerned with my overall health. Today he cut back my ingrown toenails...I wish he had used some Lidocaine or something for the pain but other than that, I am looking forward to my next appointment. I believe Dr.Baize will be able to help me. I am praying for him to know exactly what needs to be done for me. I trust that God sent me to Dr.Baize for a reason.

They take a picture of the client's face ,not their feet" possibly an unnecessary skin graft. My out of pocket expenses were very high ,with no pre warning, did like the Dr 's advice on diet

Will not be back. Wants to drag it out to get another office visit. Went in to get ingrown toe nail on both my sons feet. Instead of one visit tried to drag it out to 4. Plus won't accept what insurance pays like most doctors.

If you are hearing impaired or need an ASL interpreter do not use this clinic! My mother had a referral to this clinic and on her very first appointment the doctor told her that she could not be seen there because she is Deaf and that she would need to get her own interpreter before they would consider seeing her. Once he was enlightened on the “Americans with Disability’s Act” he finally agreed to get an interpreter through a VRS system. On her follow up appointment to have her procedure done, the doctor would not turn the screen for my hearing impaired mother to see what the interpreter was saying. Once the interpreter had her choice of words with the doctor he finally turned the screen towards my mother and continued to have an argument and a piss poor attitude. All while doing a procedure on my mother. Now that I’ve heard how he treated my Hearing impaired mother I will never step foot in his clinic and will share this story with everyone I know in this area.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Cal Baize at A Step Ahead Foot and Ankle Clinic in Batesville in October 2017 for mild foot pain. After a long wait time and a perfunctory exam, Dr. Baize suggested a pair of orthotics. He told me they would make a world of difference and said they would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Almost 6 weeks later, I received a call saying they arrived. I made another appointment for a "fitting". When he slipped them into my shoes, I stood and my left foot became very uncomfortable-feeling like I was stepping on a golf ball. I let Dr. Baize know that it was very uncomfortable, and he dismissed my concerns stating "I'm not even going to check them out-everyone finds them to be uncomfortable at first. You need to wear them for at least a few weeks." He told me that I could always come back if they didn't feel right, and I expressed concern about the additional $40 copay and another 1.5 hour appointment. He said he understood. I went home and wore them, as directed, for 3 weeks, until my feet went from the original uncomfortable, to now seriously painful. I could no longer tolerate the pain, so I sent them back to A Step Ahead with a letter explaining the serious pain that I was experiencing due to the orthotics. I let Dr. Baize know that I was unwilling to go through any more pain while he attempted to "tweak" the orthotics. After about 1 month of not wearing the orthotics, my feet are no longer in serious pain; they are back to pre-Dr. Baize discomfort. I asked that my copays and deductible be refunded and that my insurance company be refunded. After waiting over 2 months for a reply, it has become obvious that Dr. Baize will not reply and will not be refunding my or the insurance company's money and is, in fact, A Step Ahead. So what am I out? $80 in copays, approximately $100 deductible, at least 1 hour per/visit and 2 feet that went from mild discomfort to serious pain-back to mild discomfort (after sending them back). I'm also out the ability to use my insurance see a doctor that utilizes modern technology, not some antiquated foam mold. Additionally, the front office had an exceptionally hard time trying to figure out the billing and they overbook patients, so waiting times are minimum of 1 hour. Unprofessional doctor, flighty front office, long wait times, poor and outdated products and a business that does not stand behind their products. My opinion? Stay away from A Step Ahead and your feet, wallet and insurance with thank you for it.

This podiatrist does not listen to his patients. He is condescending, patronizing, and talks down to his patients. I do NOT recommend going to this doctor.

I went here a few years ago and never went back. He was more concerned with pushing the Keto diet than my feet.
