Summer Shanty

Nothing says “It’s Summer “ like dinning at one of my Go To Places, Summer Shanty! I have once again chosen The Summer Shanty as my favorite place to be to get THE MOST out of the The Summer Solstice, longest day of the year.

Over 15 Hours of Sunlight give plenty of time to have a great meal, and sip on a beverage of your choice. We always get a Lobster Roll dinner that is combined with delicious Clam Chowder for a perfect meal. So we mixed it up with the new Shrimp Rice Bowl which was delicious. There is always a huge fish sandwich with french fries that just melts in your mouth.

Never disappointed, always super service, fast service from the kitchen and bar drinks that keep coming make for my Favorite Place to watch sunsets, The Summer Solstice just make the best dinner of the year last longer. We will be back many times before the next 6-21!

Dine on the waterfront while sitting on the grass, elevate the view from the large deck or select a table in the dining room if weather dictates. No matter where you sit , the sunsets over the marina on The Bass River making for a fantastic experience.

The service and view were fantastic. I highly recommend. I'm just hoping they fix or disconnect the outside speakers. Live music was distorted a bit. The food was exceptional. The scallops were perfect.

Had to have the Lobster Roll! We got the small one. ( x 2). also a fish sandwich ( nice size ) hot dog fries and Cape Cod chips. also a small onion blossom. all good. it got crazy busy for lunch but the service was awesome. must try this place.

The Summer Shanty was one of the best places we visited in Cape Cod. The food was fresh and really good, so was the service. The cocktails are delicious. Try the seafood platters!

Excellent line up of beers 🍺 excellent cocktails 🍹excellent free koozie and AWESOME water views and great value, so wonderful compared to the now inflated Cape prices everywhere else. Fabulous fish sandwich. Amazing coleslaw.

We had a great lunch at the Summer Shanty! There was a short wait for a table but we were able to sit in some open Adirondack Chairs and order a drink while we waited. We got a shaded table on the deck and had some delicious fried seafood. The service was great and prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back this summer!

Had a great lunch with a great friend on my first visits to the Summer Shanty in West Dennis on Cape Cod on the last Saturday in July. We sat on the deck looking out over the tables on the lawn and onto the docks, taking advantage of the shade while not losing the benefit of the continuous cooling breeze.

My lunch mate is a boater and was able to point out a lot of interesting happenings on the water taking place before our eyes. The food and drinks were great, too, served by excellent waitress Danielle, who I never saw as she served us from the back.

The most industrious worker I observed was the self-confessed oldest busboy on the Cape, Dan, owner for ten years, he told me, of the Shanty.

I really loved this little gem, recommended by someone we met from Denis. Tucked away next to a boat dock that you can access from the Bass river (you can pull right up if you have a boat and get a beer).

I got the lobster roll which was a good portion. My boys each got the whole belly clam rolls. My wife got the steamers. All was fresh, well prepared and reasonably priced.

The view, atmosphere and service really made this along with the first rate food at a decent price. Skip the more well known place and seek out this place!!

Make sure to take a beer cozy on the way out.

Overlooking Bass River Harbor, the Summer Shanty is a perfect place to have a dinner watching the sunset.

We came early on a Saturday in early September around 5 PM thinking we would easily get a table but we had to wait about 15 minutes. With limited capacity during Covid, this place fills up fast! The outdoor seating area is beautiful and right on the water and we got to eat our dinner while we watched the sunset.

We each had the fish sandwich which was fresh and delicious plus the fries which were thick cut. I could have ordered anything on the menu and been happy.

Next time we are in West Dennis, we will be back!

Popped by for lunch on a Friday. Lobster BLT and calamari was top notch. In a marina and “on the water” so definitely sit outside. My boyfriend had the fried seafood plate and my friend had clam chowder and a salad with lobster salad. Highly recommend!

Great drink options. The Brie Breeze is light and refreshing, highly recommend.

Great meal and atmosphere. Really enjoyed sitting outside in the Adirondack chairs, watching the sunset, sipping on drinks & eating really good food. Service was fast & friendly.

We have been here before and had a great experience. We came here today for lunch. We had an amazing experience again. The atmosphere on the deck is top notch. Our server was beyond friendly and helpful. I'm sorry I don't remember her name. I had the white sangria and my husband had a local IPA. We shared a bowl of clam chowder for an appetizer. It was delicious, creamy with the perfect ratio of clams to potato.
For our meals, I had the tuna nachos (from the appetizer menu) my husband had the fish and chips. We were both extremely satisfied with our choices. I was probably the most satisfied, as I said I can't wait to get back here to order the tuna nachos again. This dish could be featured on the show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate".
We had a wonderful lunch and will certainly be back.

A very charming place. The food was excellent, the service was good and I absolutely enjoyed it's location by the water.

I wondered in on HOT,busy Wednesday afternoon. I was greeted by the staff at the front door and told them I'd like to sit at the bar. The bartender was a sweet girl named Ashley. She was a delight. She made sure that my water was full along with my cold Corona. I had some awesome scallops that tasted like they were just caught this morning. When in the Dennis area it's a must stop. Ask for Ashley 😁

A nice cozy place to eat. Took my grandchildren there, and had a nice family dinner on their deck area. It was wonderful having dinner and watching the sun go down. Excellent clam chowder! good, friendly service

Food is phenomenal!! The view is awesome came there when it’s sunset, it’s magical.

Very quaint inside but a popular outside deck and lawn area with table seating right on the marina. Very enjoyable easy access right off Rt. 28.

Went on a suggestion. Cute little hideaway, nice staff, seated quickly. Porch and lawn seating with a beautiful view. Casual atmosphere and good drinks. Try it!

LUCY (from Bryant) is consistently awesome, her sister is very nice too!! Lucy gives a warm smile, she's gracious and gives great service throughout the who dining experience. STEAMERS are very, very good as well as the clam chowder. Tuesday they have $1.50 oysters but if that's the only reason you're going then don't waste your time but EVERYTHING else is very good. The marina setting is such a beautiful spot for great drinks and some good food. Drinks are $10 which is super reasonable and food is reasonable too. You cannot go wrong here. Have Fun!!
