My Old Kentucky Dinner Train

This is a bucket list item! I saw this last year visiting Bardstown and thought I if ever get back there , I want to do this. I went alone and it’s really posh and over the top! Deciding what to order for dinner was the hardest thing I had to do in a long time! Rain or shine, it will be an enjoyable, memorable experience!! Order the lemon dessert. The staff works so hard and waits on you hand and foot. It was superb!

I’m giving this a five star review because the food was delicious, atmosphere was great, and service was amazing, the girls were extremely professional and made us feel as though we were on a million dollar excursion! Great job y’all! Only negative I have is seating was extremely tight and the people behind me and my friends had their chairs out too their knees where my friends and I were pushed into our bellies to the tables. ****PRO TIP PULL YOUR CHAIR OUT FIRST, or ask the person behind you to scoot in, this made the trip a bit miserable for me.****

We have waited for this for over 3 months! We were so excited for this excursion. The food, the staff, the crew, all exceptional!!! We wanted for nothing, EXCEPT to be able to hear our Master Bourbon guide speak! The selfish group behind us of fowl-mouthed intoxicated riders were enough to ruin a beautiful evening. They were so rude during the educational part of the tastings. Their loud fowl mouths were obnoxious and uncalled for. We literally couldn't hear the couple across the table from us.
Sad that such a memorable time can so easily be soured by other riders.

What an amazing experience! We were gifted with Amy Old Kentucky Dinner Train Bourbon Experience. We had prime rib that was cooked to perfection. The spinach salad with Golden Spike dressing was delicious. The whipped white feta spread with crustini bread was unexpectedly lovely. I was not a fan of the braised cabbage but it was not a loss because there was also a baked potato. To top it all off there was an amazing tiramisu cake that was light, fluffy and the coffee flavor was not overwhelming.

I would certainly do this again but Inwould schedule in the spring g so that you can see more of the wonderful Bardstown scenery.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the bourbon from the Experience. The evening started with T.W. Samuels Bottled-In-Bond 100 proof Blackberry Lemonade. It was very refreshing however a bit sweet for my taste. We moved to the Old Tub Sour Mash which was my least favorite of the evening. It was very strong. I prefer a more mellow flavor. #3. You can’t go wrong with the Knob Creek 9 year Straight Batch 100 proof. Finally was the Epsy Hoise Barrel Strength shiv is said to be the bourbon that ended the Whiskey Rebellion l. Overall a very good selection of bourbons

I will so recommend this to everyone I know. The service was exceptional and d time beautifully on a 2 hour train ride

This was our second time on going. The food is wonderful. They cook your meals on the train. The service is excellent.

Plus we got to enjoy time with our wonderful friends!

Fun dining and entertainment experience and worth every dime! The staff goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your evening. I plan to return. Shout out to Lauren, Kansas, and Erika. The level of service was unmatched. 10/10. Highly recommend!

Went 3 days before Christmas, for the Polar Express dinner train ride. our toddler loves trains and was so excited. The staff was awesome! Food was good. We would definitely go again

First time on the dinner train for my wife and me. We chose the bourbon experience. If I could give 6 stars all around I would. What a great night! The food was sooo good and the portions were large. The train itself is really unique and Rob curated the evening which provided us with a behind the scenes look at the history of bourbon and many of the local distilleries. Special thanks to Shanna our server who took excellent care of us. You need to plan ahead because this is not an easy ticket to get as the reservations fill up quickly. We will definitley be back!!

We had a great time on the Murder Mystery Dinner. The service, the food, and all the staff were very good and professional. I highly recommend everyone try this experience.

Was a wonderful experience. We were served salad, pot roast with veggies, mashed potatoes, and cheese cake. The food was excellent! The roast was very tender and delicious. Service was phenomenal. The scenery was nice - would be lovely in autumn.

I had a wonderful experience on the dinner train. It was a pleasant train ride and something different to do for a date night. The food is decent. I wouldn’t mind to see a few different options that being said what I had tasted fine. The salad was good and I really liked the pimento cheese appetizer. The chicken was good and mashed potatoes were good. I don’t really enjoy mixed vegetables so they were just okay for me.The chocolate cake was amazing

We booked our dinner 3 months in advance. It was amazing. We had two couples that shared a table. Dining area was beautiful. Our server, Emily, did a great job. We had the prime rib. It was yummy. All the food was great.

Had an amazing night that went above and beyond my expectations. The meal was cooked to perfection and had me wondering how it was cooked so good on a train!

The service was both accommodating and friendly. Everyone had a smile on their face and seemed to really love their job!

I can not recommend doing this enough.

Kayla was the most amazing waitress. She was friendly, funny, and made it a great experience. They are lucky to have her and you will be lucky to have her serve you.

This dinner train is awesome and I recommend for anyone celebrating a special occasion and for bourbon lovers for the bourbon excursion. Went on a three hour ride(1.5 hours each way) through Bardstown from downtown down to Jim Beam. It’s a beautiful ride, train is clean but a little cramped, service is great, food amazing and our host Josh is full of great bourbon and Bardstown knowledge.

Such a fun evening with our grandkids! The food was great, service was excellent and it was so much fun! The kids loved the train, their Grinch drinks and the chocolate trains were amazing!

The Murder Mystery Train ride was a great experience for all ages. The food was delicious and made on the train. The actors were so good and funny. And we found our “who dunnit’!”

My husband and I went on the Old Kentucky Dinner Train as part of our trip to the KY Bourbon Trail. It was so much fun and the food was delicious. We both had the pecan pork chop and honestly it was one of the best pork chops I have ever had! The rest of the food was also great, as was the tea and coffee! I highly recommend if you I are ever in the area!
