We had an amazing surprise birthday party for my husband on November 11th that we held at Uncle Spoony’s. It was the best experience and the MOST AMAZING FOOD EVER! Every single one of my guest raved about how good the food was. Uncle Spoony and his team are the nicest and easiest people to work with. Any event I have in the future they will be doing. I highly recommend them for any of your catering needs!

This is a must visit. The atmosphere is laid back and chill. Conversation is king, and Uncle Spoony, himself, is quite a conversationalist. Get the fried chicken. It is really, really good. I ate green beans, and I don't even like green beans, or at least I thought I didn't.

Down home cooking that’s legit and absolutely incredible. Just walking inside I’m greeted with the same wonderful smells I remember from my own grandmother’s kitchen, and a taste to match in the food that comes out to you. Takes me back and makes me happy every time.

The staff are locals, welcoming and friendly. If you want to eat somewhere that truly takes pride in what they do, look no further than Uncle Spoony’s!

UPDATE: We hired Uncle Spoony’s for a catering job, and they were fantastic! A week later and we’re still getting compliments on how good the food was and how friendly, welcoming, and professional they were. Considering their catering prices beat everyone around and they made sure of it - you just can’t go wrong choosing them!

Was waited on by Spoony himself. I had his baby back ribs, so delicious. My grandson had the frog legs, he said they were also delicious and gives Spoony a 10 star out of a 5 star, that's coming from a 9 year old! Robert had lots of questions for Spoony, wanted to know who his favorite NBA team is, his favorite football team and so on. Spoony took the extra time from his busy day to answer these questions. Thank you Spoony for entertaining my grandson!

Great place to sit and eat , or if you want to enjoy the bar . All in all a great group of people and the food is amazing.

Best wings in the county! The onion rings, mac and cheese, seasoned green beans, and potato salad are all also amazing. Great community feel and the owner is wonderful.

Uncle Spoony catered my wedding and he was so great and easy to work with. The food was delicious and the buffet service they provided was impeccable! Our guests loved the food and commented how it was the best pulled pork they ever had. Would recommend again and again!

We were a group of 8 visiting Bardstown ,from Arizona, on the Bourbon Trail and we were looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl.
Uncle Spoony is usually closed on Sunday nights but they graciously accepted our reservation and stayed open for the game.
Uncle Spoony and Keisha treated us like family and welcomed us with true southern hospitality.
We stuck to football watching finger food of wings, hush puppies, fried shrimp..etc.
The food was very good, the wings were INCREDIBLE!
Lots of laughs, beers, bourbons and of course our long lost Uncle Spoony along with his niece Keisha took very good care of us. If you are looking for great food at a reasonable price while in Bardstown stop by to see Uncle Spoony.

We stopped here on the motorcycle to get out of the rain. We ended up having dinner here.. Omg!! By far the best catfish and green beans I've ever had!! The staff was welcoming and great conversation.
If your ever in the area you got to check this place out.. It ain't much to look at but the food is worth it!

Uncle Spoony is the best!! So friendly, and what a cook. He cooks your chicken fresh, not ahead of time, so it's good, good, good!!! Well worth the wait, which isn't too long anyway. Tried the mac n cheese, Cole slaw, onion rings, and hushpuppies, everything was wonderful. Only take out for now, but opening soon, and I'm sure it will be a great success. Great food and even greater service, wish I lived closer. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!!

I love going to Spoony's. The owner is just wonderful. A hometown favorite.

Staff was very accommodating. Fast friendly service and great attention paid to the quality of the food. The chef provided a replacement sandwich as he felt the quality of the first sandwich I received was not up to his standards. Very homey atmosphere.

I got a 8 piece hot chicken wings with a side of fries. Those wings was so big an hot I will definitely be back for more! If you haven’t ate there I suggest you don’t hesitate an call ahead an get that order in because uncle spoonys is on point. Nice clean place inside as well.

Just found out about Uncle Spoony’s. Great fried chicken! Also had baked apples, potato salad, cheeseburger, curly fries, lemon pie and cheesecake. Every bit of it was tasty, served hot and leaving you wanting for more. We will be back!!

Went for a Veteran's dinner. The food was delicious. There was a band. Very nice.

Absolute best spot in Bardstown for fried chicken,! I've heard glowing reviews of the whole menu, but once you order the chicken, eating anything else seems damn near impossible. My family haven't eaten in due to the pandemic, but ordering carry-out is easy and safe. They followed all the COVID guidelines, and I have no hesitations about visiting again. The service is the kindest, the drinks are the coldest, and the food is the bestest! Thank you Uncle Spoony!

Superb service, perfectly seasoned and very juicy fried chicken. We had such a wonderful experience and happy that we came across this Local and family owned/operated business. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Some of the best fried chicken in the world! Especially the wings. If you need a party catered, these are the people you should call, because you know it's good chicken when you're still thinking about it the next morning.
