Kim was an amazing wedding photographer! She is extremely creative, passionate, and easy to work with. Mikayla and I enjoyed the atmosphere of her studio and planning out all of our shots. On the wedding day, Kim made everything run smoothly and she made sure we had all of the shots we wanted. We got our pictures back in a reasonable amount of time and we were blown away at the amount of pictures we received, the amazing quality of the photos, and all the memories we now have for a lifetime. We love her style and attention to detail! We have loved sharing her work with all of our families and friends and we recommend her for anyone looking for a fantastic wedding photographer.

Kim did a fantastic job on our engagement and wedding pictures. She was wonderful to work with and we are so in love with the beautiful pictures she took.

My first experience with Kim was over 6 and a half years ago when she was the photographer at one of my best friend’s weddings in Wisconsin. I have been in countless wedding parties since then with all different types of photographers and now I plan events for a living so I work with several photographers in Chicago, but Kim and her work stuck in my mind over all of these years because of how beautiful the pictures were and how fun she was during the day.
So, when I got engaged a little over a year ago, I reached out to Kim right away to see if she was available. From our first interaction, she made me feel comfortable and encouraged me to share my thoughts on what I liked and the look I was going for with the wedding. A month before the wedding, she sent us the sweetest little care package to remind us that even though things are crazy with the wedding planning, to take a moment and enjoy each other and relax. It was such an unexpected and sweet gesture, it made me even more excited that she would be shooting our wedding!
The groom and I live in Chicago but got married in Florida so we went with the Destination Package. Since we were already down in Florida the week before, Kim took the time to set up a call with the groom and I so we could go over all the wedding details and finalize a timeline. She asked wonderful questions which really showed how much she cares about capturing the true personalities of the bride and groom. Kim worked with us on the timing for the day so we could get the best photo coverage and she even came to the venue the day before during our rehearsal so she could see the space and meet our coordinator. This made everything run so much smoother day of and we really appreciated that!!
Not only did she and her partner, Caitlin, pick out some great spots to shoot in, but they also gave great direction while shooting. They kept our whole wedding party laughing and having fun even in the sweltering heat, then rain, then heat again!! They captured a lot of great moments and all of our photos feel very genuine. They captured the love of the day so beautifully and really did a good job of making the groom and I (who hate having our photos taken) feel comfortable and relaxed!
After the wedding, Kim was STILL so wonderful! I wanted to use a picture for our thank you card before she was done editing so she sent me several options early. She had all of the rest of the photos sent to me very quickly after that as well even though there were literally thousands of pictures for her to go through!! I did not expect them until months after and she had them for me so much faster than I expected!! She even sent us a really cute ornament with one of the pictures around Christmas!
Like I said, having Kim shoot our wedding was one of our best decisions! Her great eye, easy to work with attitude, and her extra personal touches make her a perfect fit for any bride! I highly recommend hiring her for any of your photo needs!!

Kim was an amazing photographer! We met her on our wedding day and she was so easygoing and great to get along with. She had a special vision and knew the perfect picture locations. And best of all, her pictures were stunning! Couldn't have asked for a better person to capture our favorite day!

My wife, Jordan, and I recently got married and worked with Kim through our process. Kim created our engagement and wedding photos and did an excellent job. Compared to other photographer artists, Kim is exemplary at capturing the little moments and expressions-- which we love. These photos take us right back to the moments and we couldn't be more happy. Caitlin, Kim's second photographer for our wedding, was just as wonderful to work with as Kim. We now know Kim will be our family photographer for events in the years to come.

So we took our family in to get our first portraits done. I typically do not like this kind of thing, but my wife loves this stuff. So I was reluctant to go. However, once we were there it just felt right. Kim was great at her job and the photos that we received were TERRIFIC!!!! Kim is so good and I cannot wait to go in again in the future. Kim has taken family photos for us on a couple of occasions, took my daughter's senior pictures and most recently my daughter's wedding. I know that after all is said and done, pictures are the only things left from an amazing day. After tireless research I carefully chose to go with Kim Thiel Photography. Other than my choice of spouse, it may have been the best decision I have ever made.
Every single one of the carefully curated images from our big day perfectly capture every detail. She and her assistant remembered to catch not just the big moments, but the tiny little details that tell the story of a perfect day. The way the sun shined, the smile on my niece's face, our beautiful guest favors, the food we served to our guests, all perfectly captured and stored safely so that the memories of that day can be recalled easily.

The day of our wedding was a busy, chaotic and sometimes unexpected day. Kim is a very mellow, calm and reassuring person. I am the type of woman who, when it comes to something important to me, thinks and researches and analyzes and rethinks and…. so, although the motto for our wedding (due to my analytical nature) was K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie), one can imagine how much time and effort I spent researching photographers. Kim is hands-down a superb wedding photographer. You can tell from her photos that she is great, but what makes her superb is how awesome she interacts with the bride/groom, friends, and family. She somehow learned everyone's name; it sounds silly but it means so much that she would call my sister by name and not say, "you on the left, move" (like I have heard at some other weddings). She also was so fun to be around; as the bride, she made my day better each and every moment. Lastly, I greatly appreciate that she was willing to be decisive when I needed it. I did not have much of a vision, and she would always help when I got stuck or was not making a much-needed decision. We had a destination wedding in Door County and I recommend Kim to all my friends in Texas; I would definitely trust her with your big day!

Kim is so much fun. I am your typical guy, agreeing to get pictures taken because I know it will make my wife happy. I never thought my attitude about getting my picture taken would change, transforming from going through the motions to actually not wanting the session to end and thinking okay wow let's do that again.
