Bernie's Fine Meats

So, this place is pretty cool. As soon as you walk in the door you can tell you're in a meat store with the aroma. This place caught my eye will walking around the cute downtown of Port Washington. I'm into retro and their sign is what captivated me to go inside. I went with some summer sausage as I was on a road trip. Pretty pricy at $8.50. I happened to later stop at Johnsonville and got some there for $4.29. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Bernie's will be worth the price when I eat it.

Opened a bit early as we were from Illinois. So glad they did. Brats for dinner. Amazing. Also got breakfast sausages, bacon and ground venison. Huge selection no photos because I ate it too fast

Best thick cut pork chops. Great pork shoulders, chicken wings, breakfast sausages, brats, seasoning...the list goes on. Nice little selection of local craft beers, fresh cheese curds from Cedar Valley. Everything we've had has been great and accompanied by friendly, knowledgeable service.

Great selection of meats, beers and specialty food products. We specifically enjoy the Polish beers, fresh cheese curds and variety of sausages.

Bernie's is the place to shop for meat poultry seafood. Snacks and some alcohol are also for sale. Great meat, relatively modest pricing. They have a great sandwich steak that is cryovac and found in their freezer section to per package. Great for sandwiches!

Just go. Get in the car, and take a trip to this fantastic place. When you step in the door you're greeted simultaneously by great people and amazing smells. Fantastic selection, good quality, fair prices and knowledgeable staff. The beef jerky is amazing and I've expanded my culinary range immensely by just taking time to browse around and try new things - which is possible because everything is of the highest quality, you know it will be good. This place is so good that my vegetarian partner was compelled to buy a Tshirt :)

We picked up a few steaks from these guys, and what a Great Staff, the steaks were delicious and seasoned just right. The guys behind the counter were a real hoot to deal with. Thanks so much!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and answered my questions as it was the first time I had been to Bernie's. I purchased some of the spicy snack sticks, cheese, crackers and a couple of hard to find beers and the prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

Absolutely phenomenal selection of fresh sausage, steaks, meats, cheeses, seafood, specialty items along with Top Notch Customer Service and pricing.
It definitely has the Old Time Butcher Shop feel, service and the aroma is unmistakable...in a good way!!!

My fiancee and I make the 2 hour drive up to Bernie's a few times a year to stock up on his bacons, his sausages, his summer sausage and many other fine products. All of his meats are top quality and for the price, you can't beat it. He is closed on Sundays and Mondays - and if it's a holiday, you may wanna call ahead just to make sure of what time he's open...but the trip is always worth it.

I love this place. It is a great asset to Port Washington. They make some really great sausage here among other things. A few of my favorite items are the liver sausage, mustripen, jerky, hot dogs, and when the hens are producing, the farm fresh eggs. The steaks are not the cheap supermarket discount meats but for the price, I won't buy anything else. We don't do steak often maybe two or three times a month, but when I do its a bone in Ribeye from Bernie's. Also don't forget their pork chops (our favorite), they will ask if you want a rub put on them, and tell them yes because its fantastic. Also I should mention, the owner and all his employees are wonderful people who always take the time to get to know their customers, address them by their first name and give great customer service.

This place is incredible. Not only an incredible selection of freshly cut meats (which can be pre-ordered for maximum freshness,) but they also have cheeses, candy, and INCREDIBLE craft beer options!! I can't wait to go back!

Bought one of their smoked hams for Thanksgiving last week, at first I thought it was a little pricey but after dinner I thought it was worth every penny.

The Port Washington Yacht Club held their annual Oktoberfest party. They grilled Bernie's bone-in smoked pork chop: huge cut, tender, and delicious!!!

What a quaint store!!it has lots of indulgences from the old continent, specially if you feeling nostalgic .great array of excellent Wisconsin cheeses and summer sausages. (Bought all that)fresh meats ,good local beers and others.the owner is very helpful person and knowledgeable .i love this store!!! Such a shame i live across the country!!!!

This is a must stop whenever you are in the Port Washington area. They have saved the best of the traditional butcher shop and have on hand some of the best meats raw, smoked, cooked and prepared ready to go. The Hot Teriyaki Jerky is some of the best. The beer brats are essential for any weekend grill-out and the bacon makes breakfast at home or the campsite somewhere you want to linger. I always stop in at Bernie's whenever I am anywhere near Port Washington.

I love everything about this place. Unless it is something super specific (like Ox Tails), I can always find what I am looking for and then some. They have great meat, great beers, and great service. The hours kind of suck and it can be difficult to get to when they are open, but it is worth it if you can. I always walk away with more than I am looking for and I have never regret it.
