Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wausau, an IHG Hotel

Our stay on 02/03/24 was excellent. The last 2 years my daughter has chose to do a hotel stay for her birthday instead of a party & the hotel we stayed at last year was awful & ruined her experience. We had a few different people recommended this hotel/location, so we decided to try it out. The 5 minute interaction I had with Sasha at Check-In made this hotel experience 100% better already, she was so sweet. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, all of the staff were really awesome, nice clean room, nice pool area, great breakfast selection & everything was good & fresh. We're already planning our next stay & will definitely recommended to family & friends.

We stayed here with a group that was skiing together at Granite Peak. The kids had fun in the pool- good for kids of all ages. The parents hung out in the lobby area playing cards & watching football. Breakfast was sufficient before a day of skiing: the necessary basics, clean and staffed appropriately. Rooms were new & clean. Bathrooms were clean, good water temp & pressure. We had to sign a waiver that kids could not run around the hotel unsupervised and no noise after 10pm. Staff was available & very friendly. We walked across the street to the brewery one night (recommend) and Chinese another night (not sure I’d recommend). We’d stay here again.

Clean, spacious rooms. Good service. The included breakfast was yummy. I recommend the cinnamon rolls over the pancakes. I would definitely come back!

I have stayed in this hotel many many times in the past 3-4 months. The front desk has the most friendly and professional staff. They are always willing to help out with anything that is needed. The rooms and overall establishment is well taken care of and super clean. Big shout out to Heidi for all that she does!

I stayed here while helping put on a Ragnar trail running event. We had a pretty large group and the staff at this hotel were wonderfully accommodating to us. We also had to come and go at all of the night. Regardless of the time they made it a point to make sure they opened up for breakfast for us so we had something to eat before our long days. They even had employees who. Volunteered to come in early and make hot breakfast. The rooms were sparkling clean.

Loved the multiple tables in the lobby to hangout and share cocktails with friends.

We were visiting for a family gathering. My elderly parents were extremely comfortable and treated so well! The staff is hard to beat. Friendly, accommodating and attentive. The beds were insanely comfy with softest sheets. Pool was enjoyed by the kids and mom loved the hot tub and fitness center. Anyone traveling to a hotel should bring white noise or play on your phone always, so We all slept soundly. Will definitely be staying again when we return!

This particular holiday inn as you walk in has a great atmosphere. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was phenomenal. Say hi to the breakfast servers, they will make your day!

We are repeat customers of this location. Breakfast staff super friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious, bed is comfy. Pool temp always cold but they have a great area for the littles. The only spot we stay while visiting Weston.

Great place to stay while on a work trip. Room was spacious and very clean. Air unit worked quick to cool and freshen the room when we first got there. Didn't use the pool, but looked nice with a separate toddler area and a hot tub. Breakfast smelled wonderful in the morning, but I had breakfast plans, so didn't scope out the spread. All staff members I interacted with were great! Will surely be back if I'm ever in that area again.

Great place to go if you need a place to stay. Comfortable beds. Nice showers and very accommodating service.

There are NO good options for hotels in the Wausau area but this is the cleanest dirty shirt. The five star rating is to get the average above the Fairfield Inn which I am still bitter about.

A wonderful place to stay! The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was very welcoming. Also, the breakfast was good with sufficient variety. Kay, one of the breakfast attendants, was very sweet to everyone. She even offered to slice an apple for my two little kids both of the mornings we were there.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a water bottle filling station in the main lobby.

Their doing a great job at slowing updating this place.
Not sure how the pool passes code with the handicapped lift having no power supply.
Otherwise a great hotel and a very good restaurant .

Friendly and clean! Staff allowed us to move rooms after we found that the layout didn’t work as well for us. Will stay again!

The hotel was clean and staff at the front desk was great especially Keith! Kids loved the pool and breakfast was good. Linda the staff that worked in the breakfast area during our stay on 9/10/22 - 9/11/22 was wonderful as well. She made sure the food was stocked and she checked in on guests. She was very kind and sweet!

Spent two nights during a recent visit to Schofield. Convenient location, great suite and good service. The complementary breakfast was what you might expect.
Great location, easy on and off to the highway and a convenient restaurant located nearby.
This was my second time at this location and I plan on staying her again the next time I'm in the Schofield/Weston/Wausau area.

My husband and I came to Wausau WI to ski at Granite Peak. We used IHG points for The Holiday inn. They were really nice when we checked in and upgraded us to a suite. The lobby is clean and inviting. The room is large, with separate living room and bedroom. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee service. The bathroom is very clean clean. Looking forward to using the pool and hot tub this evening.
