We’ve used AdMo Animal Hospital now for three years, and it’s been a great experience. The doctor is kind and does his work quickly and efficiently. He gives good feedback and handles our cat well. The staff is efficient and helpful

Fantastic father/son practice. We’ve used them for 18+ years and couldn’t imagine putting our rescue hounds in better care. They take their time to explain each procedure and are diligent in following up. While the staff has turned over, another constant is Betsy. Her people and animal skills, as well as wit and kindness, are unmatched.

The vets and vet techs here are talented, respectful, loving and supportive of one another. We have had great experiences in trying times. They are upfront about costs and options. Also, while this may be a bit gross, our daughter got sick in the lobby (out of nowhere) and the staff could not have been nicer and more responsive about it. I could not have asked for a better place to have an embarrassing parenting moment. Lovely people!

i've been coming to adams morgan animal hospital since 2019 when my cat had an emergency and her regular vet wasn't able to see her and i've never looked back. i adopted a dog last year and he is also now a patient and they have always taken great care of both my cat and my dog, who is elderly and has several health complications. the only thing i'll say is that their services aren't the cheapest ($42 just to trim my dog's nails but i'll pay it 😂), but i suppose it could be worse, and anytime they recommend an expensive test or treatment to me for my dog they always make sure to let me know about the expense before i make a decision.

Since moving into the neighborhood 5 years ago I took my dog here for all veterinary services, including the recent sad end of his life. Dr. Boone, father and son, were wonderful to us and I'm so grateful for the advice and care I received from them over the years. The technicians and other employees also treated us well. I'm a little surprised to see some of the negative reviews, they really don't measure up to my experiences. Should I get another dog I will be returning here, no question in my mind.

Dr. James Boone is the kindest man in all of the DC area. He helped us during a very difficult time when we had to put our cat to sleep. He was there for us during the whole process, and he simply is an incredibly humane and caring person. You can tell the love he has put in to build a wonderful veterinary practice in AdMo.

My dog loves going to the vet because they are so patient and caring with him. Dr. Boone(s) and his crew are very knowledgeable and have walked me through the whole dog ownership process with a lot of grace. My pup has been going here for 2.5 years and I will never switch vets.
Please consider them as your vet!

I've been going to this animal hospital since I adopted my dog in 2020. Dr. Boone (both son and father) have an exceptional understanding of dogs, especially bully breeds. I feel comfortable each time I go into the office. For the first time I was able to go into the back with my dog. I think it was much more fun for me than it was for him! I recommend you use Adams Morgan Animal Hospital should you be in need of a vet. The staff there is always on top of everything and so welcoming!

Really pleasant folks to work with all-around. AMAH is operated by a father/son duo and both are great. They always answer all of my questions (and I ask a lot of questions) yet I never feel rushed. AMAH has taken care of my pup for years and I expect nothing to change.

We took our two cats here today. One perfectly healthy and one unfortunately experiencing some health issues. From the moment I walked in everyone was sweet and helpful. The vet is very hands on and he seems to work well with the rest of his staff. He was empathetic and upfront about what should be done and how much it would cost. I’m stressed about my kitty’s health but being new in town not knowing where to take her they gave me one less thing to worry about. So glad I decided to come here.

I brought my cats here for over six years, seeing Dr. Boone (Jr) and Dr. Madden several times each.
Vet care - I was always pleased with their attention to the animals and advice given to me, especially initially as a very nervous, probably over-eager first-time cat owner. Both doctors and vet techs seemed to remember my cats and have a way with calming them.
Office staff (because there are several negative reviewers on this point) - On occasion over several years people may not have been overly cheery at busy times but they were always professional and patient in explaining prices and then evolving coronavirus prevention measures, and they always worked hard to fit me in when one of my pets was sick - I never had to find an emergency or other vet during business hours. I was sad to have to find a new vet when I moved recently, but the office staff were very responsive and helpful in transferring records.
Prices - reasonable for the neighborhood.

First time bringing my dog here and had a good experience. The doctor seemed to know what was wrong with my dog and his infection cleared up within 24 hours of treatment. Making an appointment was easy and you get seen in a reasonable time. I am glad I was able to go back to see the vet with my dog because some places do not allow that currently.

Dr. Boone and his team are kind, friendly, and thorough! Completely trust them with my pet's well-being.

My wife and I had to take our cat for an emergency trip to another vet hospital in early February where we received the unfortunate news that our cat had cancer. We had an already scheduled annual check up with Adams Morgan Animal Hospital later that month. During the visit the doctor spent 20 minutes with us going over the X-rays, scans, and blood work. Afterwards we decided we would take her home and let her enjoy her final days in her normal environment.

Flash forward to this past Friday when we noticed our cat had taken a turn for the worse and we knew it was time. When we contacted Adams Morgan Animal Hospital I explained the situation and they could not have been more accommodating! Even with their fully booked schedule they made arrangements to see her right away. During our difficult time Adams Morgan Animal Hospital was there for us and we will forever be grateful.

I'm not sure what all the fuss from other reviews is about. They took my cat on short notice when she wasn't feeling right. I have never had a vet tech and a vet stay on the phone with me to talk me through my cat's behavior like Dr. Boone and his staff did. Dr. Boone has a wonderful manner and is just a joy to talk with. They're also more affordable than other places in D.C. Definitely recommend.

I got to know about Dr Boone through word of mouth ( a friend takes his dog there) and my new pup loves going to this vet. The staff are really well informed and provide a good balance of loving care, preventative tips, and value. The staff remembers all dogs, and I greatly appreciate that. For example, once when I had a question about my pup and I called in to ask, the next time I called to book her vaccine appointment, they even asked me how she was doing. Dr Boone had come out to answer all my questions patiently on our first visit, which I was most grateful for.

Wonderful people. My dog had puppies (a first for me) and they were able to answer all questions and calm any nervousness or anxiety involved in the whole process as I have not experienced this before. They took time to speak in depth and I can tell they truly care for our pets as family members (much better than how many vets are in DC where they just want your money, like City Paws). I will be bringing my dogs here from now on. Thank you for providing excellent customer service and being an integral part of the neighborhood! So glad we found you!
