Half Price Books

This is a very nice bookstore. I love visiting and checking out all the books, comics, and games. The store is clean, organized, and all of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We have sold a lot of books there and it is awesome, easy process. I am glad we found this bookstore to check out from time to time.

Really great selection of used or discounted book, games, puzzles, music, and other little things. I specifically was looking for used puzzles and was very pleased with the selection and pricing of their puzzles.

Lots of books. Some quite good. Prices vary--some less than half price, others more. Randomness and variety prevail so you never know what might await your discovery.

Great place to find your hidden treasures. I went in to find a complete book on birds of N. America & found 9 of them, 3 that I wanted. One big detailed coffee book, one smaller one for the vehicle, and a pocket one to carry around. I love the variety of things they had in the store too. They were more than a bookstore, they had a smaller eclectic variety of music, comics, DVD's, posters, puzzles, games, etc. all older, but still very useful. If you want to have fun wasting a little time, you need something and just don't know what yet, or you have a certain book/series/genre you want to get, this is the place. The staff was also very helpful and available, they did not "pester" me at all, but were constantly moving and accessible, they stopped what they were doing to help me.

If you made me say, there is only one thing I didn't like, I would have to say, seating. I know this is a good/bad thing, because you put seating in you take away space & some people sit way too long. I'm in the other side, I'm older and my legs hurt from standing/walking too much. Even if they put a small table with 3-4 chairs in 3 parts of the store, and then tell people to respect others, and leave the books on the table for staff to put away. It would be perfect. I think I would have bought 2-3 more books if I could have explored them a little, but I was in too much pain.

Overall, I highly recommend this place, as a fun place to spend some quality time for yourself, you need a gift, or you want something very specific. This place will give you what you need.

This is an amazing bookstore. I would compare it with the best used bookstores in any city I have ever visited.

Huge variety of books! Very well organized! Courteous employees!

This store is a treasure to book addicts! There is a huge selection of genres and pretty well organized. The customer service is excellent, and this business will order a book for you too. There were some unexpected finds such as puzzles, bookmarks, interesting knickknacks, etc. They also have a nice children's section.

The store is much smaller than I remember, but still had a variety of books that I brought home!

Found some books that I haven't found elsewhere, and their first edition/rare books are cool.

Has a great selection of any kind of books and cd's.

Found good stuff for good prices. they have a good amount of comics and manga.

I was always told that Half Price Books was an awesome spot to find books and I was happy to find out the word on the street is true! I found two books and probably would've bought more if I didn't have a bus to catch. Also they have beautiful bookmarks for only 49 cents!

I went in for some hardback books that I can use to decorate shelves with (toss the dust jackets, etc), and instead of grabbing random book titles - I decided to grab books that will have dual purpose. Ones that looked interesting to read as well as decoration (more specifically the color of the binding; black, teal, gray, or white). Found several titles after only a few minutes of browsing through only 2 aisles. One of the covers was even the same color teal that is in my bathroom.

They have small carts that are perfect for walking the aisles but the best part is the seat for a child that folds down. Perfect for parents with littles, like myself!

They also take books for money. I might have to give that a try sometime!

This is such a cool store!! I live 56 miles from here and absolutely have to go a few times a year! Old, new, vintage, and things you never knew existed! Love it!!

Great store. Good selections

I always love coming here. Good deals, wide range of books, vinyl records, games etc plus kind staff. Bonus: Next door to Penzeys & Takumi Sushi, excellent place to send (well-behaved) kids with a tenner to explore & make their own choices

I still have boxes of CDs and books I bought here in the mid 90s, when I was in high school. Went back as a 43 year old and the store is exactly the same, which is to say, perfect. I'm surprised and impressed. Don't ever change, Half Price Books on the East Side of Madison.

Everything you want. Prices are very reasonable

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The variety is good. Some nice flourishes at this location are a vast selection of fantasy novels. This half price books also sells many multimedia, including some pretty dope CDs and of course movies.
