Canalside Inn

Perfect location. Staff so very accommodating for my senior pup. Thanks for all your help. We appreciate your kindness for my old girl. All guests were so wonderful obviously animal lovers too.. only issue I had unknowingly was hardwood floors too slick for my senior pup ….but we managed with blankets and towels and staff assistance.

First and foremost, the Canalside Inn welcomes dogs, providing little pet amenities in the room! That is hard to find in the Rehoboth hotel/inn choices. Its location across from the main canal in a residential neighborhood behind makes for a quiet scenic location. And it is an easy walk, less than a mile, into the main street shops & restaurants area downtown. This particular January stay was very off-season (we were the only ones there!) with lots of snow but our golden retriever loved it! It is not a big place in terms of rooms which is also nice. And it has a nice downstairs guest kitchen/den like area to hang out in. All other pet-friendly options are miles away on the main highway.

The Inn does not have your conventional front desk and onsite staff as other places might so if you require this just take note. As this was winter, perhaps it is different in the summer months. That being said, offsite staff are a call away and responsive. Also note that it is a stairs only access to second floor rooms if that is an issue. Also the bathroom in our king executive room was small.

But if you want to bring your dog to a Rehoboth beach stay - it's the Canalside Inn !

We booked this specifically because it was dog friendly. We were delighted that they accepted 2 dogs. Check in/ out was very easy and convenient. Located in a quiet neighborhood with a very short walk to the beach and all of the food and restaurants( egg is almost in the backyard). I left behind some books in the room after checkout and the owners were super helpful in getting them back to me. Not sure if our dogs liked the beach but they loved the room and walking next to the canal. We would definitely stay here again even if they choose to stay at home.

Contactless check in was easy. Room was quiet and nicely appointed. Photo included was from our first stay two years ago. Would definitely stay here again.

Not one complaint! Friendly staff clean and dog friendly rooms. Quiet with canal across street and perfect location to walk everywhere! Will definitely be back!

Stayed here for a girls weekend in April 2023. Everything was great. Checking in was easy, asking questions was easy.
The location was great, it was tucked back out of traffic but also close to restaurants which we could walk to. The guest lounge was great for us girls to all hangout.
I wound up leaving a few items and the staff was quick to find my items and mail them to me. I really appreciated that.
10/10 would recommend and I hope to get back to the Canalside Inn soon!

My husband and I booked this place as a last minute getaway and it didn't disappoint! Kristen and Brian were so friendly and welcoming. They even invited us to a party they were holding out front with a food truck that happened to be the same night we were checking in! It was the perfect spot to walk Rehoboth and bring our dog too. Diane was also very helpful in the booking process and responsive if we had any questions. We would recommend anyone to stay here and would definitely come back again!

We will be booking here again next year, great stay! Very easy check in - check out. Very communicable with any issues and also very pet friendly. Would highly recommend. Also the perfect distance away from both Rehoboth and Dewey beaches

Let me just start by saying from beginning to end, this was the easiest/smoothest reservation and check-in process I have experience I have had in a long time with a hotel.
Diane in the front office was amazing to work with; very personalable and attentive to her guest and their fur-babies.
My only complaint about the stay was that the hot tub was freezing and not very clean. BUT, this did not stop us from having a great experience! We will certainly be back; Diane you are a great first impression of Canalside Inn!

This hotel was fantastic! The fact that it’s dog friendly is exactly why we chose it. The location is great. Check in and out was super easy. The rooms are clean, quaint and unique. My only complaint would be that they need better pillows. The mattress was ok but could be better. However, all of the other positives of this hotel absolutely outweigh this. We will def. Be back! We fell in love with Rehoboth and with this sweet boutique hotel.

Was supposed to stay here for just one night and it's currently day 4 of our stay with no end in sight....we can't bring ourselves to leave this slice of heaven and it feels like Rehoboth's best kept secret. Kristen and team go above and beyond to make sure that guests not only feel comfortable, but also view Canalside as a true home away from home. While we had initially planned to stay right on the beach, we're far more happy with this location - a 5 minute bike ride w/ the complimentary beach cruisers here without the noise or crowds & even closer to less touristy restaurants. Plus, despite being a stone's throw away from the beach / boardwalk, its location overlooking the canal on a quiet road makes it feel like it's on its own oasis. Since we've been here, we've experienced what seems like the full gamut - perfect beach days and rainy grey days, work-free weekends and work-filled remote work days, days spent out and about and days spent primarily inside, the list goes on. It's hard to find a spot that always seems like it can meet you where you are, but Canalside does that. Whether enjoying the beautiful hydrangea along the street, borrowing a bike to take a quick ocean plunge, sitting on the deck outside, relaxing in the pool or hot tub, getting a massage in our room (coordinated by Kristen with less than 12 hrs notice!), working in the newly renovated common area that gives a library's silence a run for its money (truly haven't been this productive since I can remember!), Canalside has been everything we could ask for and more. We cannot recommend it enough & we'll definitely be back soon (...if we ever leave!).

Canalside Inn was such a wonderful place for our family to stay. We were able to bring our dog on vacation and the room was spacious, clean and right off Rehoboth Ave next to dining, shopping and activities. I definitely recommend staying here, especially with your dog!

We've stayed at the Canalside for 10 years. It has a great location, great rooms and the staff is always incredibly polite and helpful. They also have free bikes and beach chairs which you can't beat. Also, we love Sky, the Innkeeper. He's an incredibly friendly, adopted husky.

Let me start off by saying, everything from the first phone call to reserve our stay to checking out was a breeze and extremely easy. Never have I ever such a great experience from start to finish. I feel like this place revolutionized the way hotel experiences should be like. I was traveling with my wife, two kids and dog - this establishment being pet friendly was extremely helpful. We got to reserve this place extremely last minute for the Rehoboth Marathon, which is about a half mile from the start/finish. Before even getting there, I was asked for all the little things that I needed - pack and play for my infant, dog crate and bed for our dog, instructions texted to me on checking in and out, hotel amenities, wifi password - basically everything you’d have a question for. And if there was something you had a question for, all you had to do was text - which I found extremely helpful. By the time we got there the room was ready and the pack and play and dog crate were already set up.
Aside that, I personally interacted with one staff member, Kate, who was very kind and warm from the start. From my arrival she showed me where the self guest services area was in case I needed extra towels or other room necessities and was extremely helpful. But overall she was super sweet to my family, especially to my kids.
This place made us all feel like family. Would 100% recommend to stay here anytime.

Wow I must say check in was so easy didn't even have interaction with the front desk! When we got to our room and opened the door it smelled so clean, everything was perfect. We had one issue and that was the TV remote was working the best. I text them and Carly came right up to help, unfortunately it didn't work to where we just signed into our Netflix account and it was fine. We only stayed one night but it will was a great place! We walked to a little restaurant called the Egg and that was great!! So overall it was a great place and very quiet.

I made a last minute reservation and we were thrilled with the location. The weather was perfect for November and we were traveling with three dogs. The room was perfect and had everything we needed. There is a great place to walk dogs across the street next to the canal. We had to leave early so my only regret is that we couldn’t eat breakfast. Next time!

We've now stayed twice at Canalside Inn, and both times we've had a great stay. The rooms have everything you need, and the location can't be beat. It's an easy stroll to restaurants and an even quicker ride on the complimentary bicycles.

Ray , the owner of this beautiful Inn is very knowledgeable and helpful.simply whatever from your vacation you need then you can find there. Walkable, canal view and very LGBTQ friendly and close to gay bars and main ⛱. Enjoy your stay there with your puppy 👍🏻 very recommended 💐

Stayed here for 2 nights last week d/t an issue with an Air BnB. The new owners have really turned this place around! Rooms are bright and very clean, and the place is extremely dog friendly! We had 2 dogs with us on a short birthday vacation, and were treated nicely with an early check-in (so we could get out of the Air B n B.) Marissa let us look at a coupe different rooms before checking in, and we ended up being the only guests staying, I mean, it’s still winter, but it made things super quiet. The updated downstairs area is perfect and so fresh looking! Great location as well! We have stayed there in the past while it was under the previous owners, and always have had a good experience! Thank you so much for everything on this trip! Will be back!

My husband and I had a great time staying at the Canalside inn. The owners were awesome. The location is great and close to everything. Very dog friendly. If you are looking for a great place give them a call!!!
