I have a new upcoming 6th grader for the 2017-18 school year.. from the open house visit, my son seems extremely interested. We have HU ms2 as our first choice in the lottery and I hope my son gets in. Its my hope to offer strong parent involvment and collaborate with HU faculty to ensure success for all.

This school has a variety of great programs and opportunity's for the children to progress into college scholars. I appreciate the principal, Ms. Procope and her drive to assure that parents are connected and that any and all issues are resolved quickly. She is a very professional and caring person. This is my daughter's first year, and I have one child who have already graduated from the school 4 years ago. I feel like the school have improved since my oldest graduated and I am a very happy parent. I am looking forward to many more years with the school as I see that there are up and coming perks that will be implemented in the future. I will recommend this school to anyone. I am very much satisfied and could not imagine any of my children attending any other educational facilities for their middle school years, and is looking forward to my children attending the high school (once implemented). I really dislike that anytime I come to the school, I have to pay a meter and I received numerous parking tickets, on campus. So that part is a huge issue as I like to visit the school a lot.

Great School, great opportunities for students. While our school had some challenges last year, we have definitely turned things around this year. We had students speak on Capitol Hill, students invited to the White House, student recipients of various awards. Students continue to excel academically. 8th grade students have been accepted to School Without Walls, Banneker, McKinley Tech and National Preparatory Academy. Students, staff and parents are committed to academic excellence. Partnership with Howard University is strong.

I want to know about the updates on the teachers that were fired for teaching black kids about their history and is the curriculum being used still of that of MD board of education?

I am a student at the school and its horrible. In the student handbook it says that each student should have their OWN computer at home to use and their OWN computer for school. In the school half the computers are white jacked up Mackbook's that hardly even work. At home the computers are SUPPOSE to work fine. With my computer I have to keep it charged all the time or else it wont work, and when i complained about it they said i broke it and you'll just have to keep it like that. Then the school has a no touching policy but there were 98 fights just this year. From the time that this school opened up till now there has been 857 fights, and you know that's bad. There's also this thing called a DRESS DOWN DAY that happens like every once or twice a month but most of the time they cancel it so i don't understand the point of it. Mostly everything fun in the school they cancel it. Dress down day: Canceled. Fun day: Canceled Talent show: Canceled. Honor roll ceremony: canceled. Field day: Moved to the last day of school. Its not worth going to. They try to treat us like robots. They expect us to know everything, and if we get stuff wrong they yell, scream, shout at us. If you want the best go somewhere else. If you want the worst come straight here. Its not fair for us and so it would'nt be fair for your children. THIS IS A WARNING DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL I REPEAT DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Howard Middle school in 6th and 7th grade. It was nice in 6th grade but then 7th grade is when everything went downhill. I really loved the school and I would hope that they get their act together... I still talk to a lot of kids who go to the school now they said its ok but i hope they will get better. This is not looking good for Howard University. 2014-2015 school year was a very rough school year. There is no such thing as a "Perfect School" so they deserve to get a second chance because there is potential for this school to get back to the way it was. With a strong parent body that will do anything for their child the school can get back on track and become a school that actually wants to educate their students to their best ability. Unfortunately, I left the school but I hope that some day I can proudly say that i went to Howard University Middleschool of Mathematics and Science... And I know with Hope and dedication they can do it! ;)
