The Surf Club Oceanfront Hotel

Stayed at the Surf Club twice and looking forward to coming back again soon. It’s right on the dunes, and the oceanfront rooms have a great view onto the beach.

It is within walking distance to just about everything in Dewey, which was a huge plus.

The rooms were pretty well kept. They include a full dinette with everything you need if you planned to cook any meals there (they give pots/pans, dishes, bowls, cups, silverware, etc).

Hotel staff are all friendly and went out of their way to help when we needed something.

They also have a full beach house available for rent that I’d love to look into for a whole family trip

Went for a quick get-away weekend with my wife. Stayed at Surf Club and could not have been happier with our decision. Received a text early Friday morning that our room was ready (loooong before the published check-in time) but that the office would be closing at 6, so if we were going to be later to let them know. I did and almost immediately received a message back letting us know how to access our room keys and information from the lock-box.
Upon entering the room we were greeted with towel art (swans) and faux flower pedals leading to the bed with aforementioned towel art and a heart of aforementioned faux flower petals along with a snack and a (small) bottle of wine.
View was outstanding, room was almost perfect (bed was a little less comfortable than I prefer), make-up points for extra blankets in the closet.
Overall location was PERFECT with the hotel being within walking distance of everywhere you want to go in Dewey.
Sunday was a little rough - but that was more the Starboard's fault - the hotel staff were quick to allow us a late departure in order to give us time to recover.
Over-all we had a fantastic trip and will definitely be back (frequently).

Spacious room with an ocean view, nice amenities including refrigerator, microwave, cook-top, cooking vessels and utensils, dish rack and soap, coffee maker.

The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed! Bathroom is very small but has the essentials. Drying and changing with bathroom privacy might be a challenge, as there is very little space between the toilet, sink, and shower. If that privacy isn't necessary, then it's fine.

If I have occasion to be in the area in the future I would definitely stay here again. I love that rooms are totally non-smoking!

The place is updated and very nice my favorite hotel on the beach ocean view reasonable prices i usually go on off season. Staff is nice and accommodating. Beach is nice just walk out and you're there. W

My wife and I were on just a daytrip to the beach when, by good fortune we happened to walk by this hotel, and was surprised to see a vacancy sign, really, 18steps away from the beach! So we decided to check it out, someone had just canceled so we met Doc, and turned our one day into an overnight.
First off let me say how much we enjoyed meeting Doc. What a guy! Great sense of humor!!!!!!! Genuine friendly, not that fake my job is to be nice to tourists b.s.
The room was outstanding, clean quiet and taken care of. The view of the beach was incredible!
Again right on the beach!!!!!!
Worth every penny, we will be going back often, as this is our new home base for Dewey beach.

This is our first time in Dewey Beach and we definitely made the right choice with this hotel. Great location, you can walk to everything. Reasonable prices. But what got us was when we first opened the door to our third floor ocean view room. The view was absolutely STUNNING!! Waking up every morning to amazing sunrises and the sounds of the ocean are what heaven should be like!! Great staff and very clean. Our room can easily accommodate four adults, which we were,very roomy and comes with a table, full size fridge and two burner stove. Comfy bed and decent pull-out sofa. We are definitely planning to come back here next year. A five day stay is the right amount of time and allows you to go to Rehoboth and Ocean City. So book this place and enjoy your stay!!😎☀☀

We have stayed in Dewey many times but never in this hotel. We chose this for the ocean front rooms and kitchenette option. The staff here was incredibly helpful and FRIENDLY! The room and surrounding areas were clean and well maintained. Now, if you're looking for brand new, high end amenities, this might not be the place for you. Some areas are a bit dated and could use some love. However, our room with a corner view right on the beach, was remodeled and inviting. The bed was firm but comfy. Could have used softer, fluffier blankets...
The kitchenette was clean and very useful, however, could have been better stocked with cookware and utensils.
Over all, I'd highly recommend staying here! You can't beat the view, proximity to the beach and the staff was exceptional!

I stayed here for New Year’s Eve weekend. My room wasn’t terribly large, but laid out well and was clean and had a nice large window (which can be open for some fresh air) providing nice light and a view of the ocean. It has good sized refrigerator, microwave 4 person dining table and coffee maker (Keurig). The bathroom is quite small but usable.

We had an amazing stay at the surf club ocean front hotel! The location was easy to get to and within seconds of the beach! We had an ocean view in our room that was absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious and very clean. The parking was easy and we were able to park right by the stairs to our room. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next Delaware trip!

My son gives this a five star also. For a two star hotel this place far exceeds it's rating. The room was clean the location was perfect facilities were great. There is a bbq area where all you have to provide is meat and a lighter and your good to go. You could fall out your room and land on the beach. There are also many bars and restaurants a stones through away. The decor is fresh and fit for the surrounding. Room is huge for what we needed. I have stayed in Hilton's that stated 5 star that were below the standard set by this supposed 2 star apartment complex. The staff are very knowledgeable and they provide a leaflet giving local recommendations. We will stay here again and very much recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a beach holiday with a bit more class than ocean city down the road.

If you park your vehicle, leave it because there is not enough parking. We stayed five (5) wonderful days loved the area and the beach it was so close. Parking was frustrating good luck. Overall still a 5 Star

Wanted to find a place to stay overnight so we didn't have to drive in the morning to enjoy the beach. This was the perfect for us this time. The lay out is a bit different; no elevator; only a dumb waiter (for luggage) available which helps. We booked the room (#202) with the view of the beach (Direct Ocean Front room). It was great ‼ We would have loved it if it had a balcony, but still a wonderful sight to wake up seeing the sunrise glistening off the waters and illuminating the sand from our room. We even got lucky to see pods of dolphins 🐬 swim/play up the coast (uploaded the video you can watch on here) ‼

They don't have anyone after 8pm (security available after, no worries there), so be sure to call them if you're going to arrive anywhere close or after that time. There's an outdoor lock box that you can access when you arrive. The sign on the front door will explain this in detail.

At the end, it's worth the stay‼

We have a unit at the surf club and look forward to our beach trips to Dewey. Beach access is very close to the condo and the rooms have great views of the ocean. The staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend the Surf Club to my friends visiting Dewey. Hopefully next year the pool hours will increase in the summer to 9 or 10. The kids love the idea of jumping in the pool when it starts to get dark. There is access to a washer and dryer.

Awesome hotel! Clean and spacious. It has a fridge, stove, sofa and everything you need to cook. It was as loud je a small apartment. Ocean view! I will stay again. Friendly service 💚

The ocean view and the 1 minute walk to beach is why I give this 5 stars. The rooms are spacious. There is no elevator but it's only 3 floors. Our room had a kitchen which was perfect for our needs. The bathroom is a bit small but adequate. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon this last March (2019).

I absolutely adored the large ocean front room- it was clean and welcoming. More like a studio apartment with all of the accommodations and space. It was absolutely perfect. The front desk associate was also very nice.

I only had two very minor complaints that will absolutely not stop me from staying here again. The first- the floor slant. It is an old building. Buildings settle, that’s fine. It was just unexpected walking from one side of the room to the other. The second was that the water in the shower didn’t get hot, only about room temperature.

I didn’t talk to the front desk because overall these two things didn’t impact my stay in an overall negative way and it wasn’t anything that could have been immediately improved. The five stars is still very well deserved for the courtesy of the staff, stellar location, comfortable and clean room, and beautiful view. Hopefully we will be making an annual trip to Dewey Beach because Surf Club has life long customers.

My husband and I stay here a couple times a year and have a wonderful stay every time. Cannot beat the location and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Hotel is older but room was comfortable and updated. No elevator BUT there is a dumb waiter for luggage! The floor to ceiling window in the Ocean Front room gives fantastic views of the beach and ocean. Staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend and hope to stay there again.

Beautiful views and polite and helpful staff.

No noise insulation (you will hear every step that your upstairs neighbor takes). Needs some upkeep (paint chipping/warping from humidity). Beach umbrella and chair discount is not honored.

Lovely little beach hotel. The giant windows looking over the water were breathtaking. I'm a blackout-blinds-sleeper but I kept the blinds open when I stayed. Contactless check-in was a nice touch. Though I stayed here for work, I would absolutely stay here on vacation.
