I’m obsessed with this place. I’ve been coming at least 3 times a week since I moved to the area. Their vanilla lattes are my favorite I’ve found in dc, the atmosphere is perfect for wfh or a calm cozy vibe. The staff are incredible and the food is nothing short of fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Ran in for a quick to go meal & coffee before leaving DC. Super nice ambiance and finally a good coffee after trying multiple disappointing places around the city. I believe the syrups were homemade and was impressed with the campfire flavor. Grabbed the breakfast burritos, which were big and very filling and came with some yummy salsas on the side. Their spicy Mayo was super good too! Would definitely like to come back, definitely on the more expensive side.

As soon as I entered I felt a warm welcome by the staff. Vibe made me want to stay for lunch rather than take home as I first intended. Engaging conversation initiated by employee made me feel more like a friend than a customer. Will def go back!

Planned a 50+ person happy hour here on the patio and had an excellent time! The side patio has really cute vibes with the string lights and paper lanterns. The pizza was delicious, and I enjoyed my pinot noir. I heard good things about the cocktails. The service was great, too - Bri was super helpful in helping us coordinate the event and everyone working that night was on top of bussing our tables, touching base with us, etc. Would definitely come back!

Super cozy place with yummy coffee and a nice atmosphere. Focaccia BLT was a bit of a let down (I don’t think it was actually focaccia) but the falafel wrap is *delicious*

Love the food, staff, patio and trivia night here. Great place to work and chill and the upstairs is so cozy with the fireplace in the winter.

This is one of my new favorite spot! It is conveniently located right off of Florida Avenue and Northwest Washington DC. And comfortably located in a cozy neighborhood surrounded by less greenery.

On Sundays there’s a beautiful farmers market in front. Enjoy a refreshing tea or lunch and/or pick-up some fresh organic greens on your walk back home.

And they host a wonderful Patio Diner Special from Wednesday-Saturday.

They offer delicious drinks and food for everyone to enjoy.

I had a delicious green tea and vegan breakfast burrito. And my friend had a wonderful latte and breakfast bagel. Sorry guys, I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of her bagel.

I do trivia here. The service is reasonably fast and the food is good for bar food. They don't mind if you hang out here for a long time without buying much, and the music is not loud so you can have a conversation with folks easily. There's an upstairs area you might miss. Overall a great choice to meet friends.

Embracing ambiance, great neighborhood feel, nice music, comfortable seating and best of all, good coffee and pastry. I can't wait to return to Big Bear Cafe.

i go here for trivia and it's fun! also, they have lots of natural wines which are delicious — i love to share a bottle with my friends. don't know too much about the food, but the pastries are yummy, and friends can vouch for the shrimp tacos, calamari, and felafel bowl.

Great iced coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Happy hour including on Sundays 4-6pm, nice margaritas. Sunday morning market right outside in the summers.

Best spot in Bloomingdale. Lines can be long on weekends, but the coffee comes out really fast and my orders have always been consistent. A bit pricey, but they make a lot of their own ingredients and use top quality items.

Awesome hidden gem in DC. Pastries are on point, coffee is hot and flowing, and the upstairs has great seating for chit chat or working on a laptop.

Great coffee; great atmosphere. Hole in the wall type of feel but such a hidden gem. Loved this place.

Best coffee I’ve had in DC, good milky got chocolate. Good array of baked goods. Could make the food menu clearer as I didn’t realise there was a food menu until I was served. Good bagels. Could improve cleanliness. Very busy. Rather expensive~ $45 for the food in the photo.

Very hip and cool looking cafe. Not so much of eatery place and the prices are a bit high for wraps. however it’s one of the place that you should just feel the environment and just have a coffee or tea. I enjoyed it, would recommend having a lose leaf chai tea as it comes in a big pot

It’s a really busy spot, especially on the weekends and always on the patio. The neighborhood is quaint and there’s usually a farmer’s market right outside the cafe steps on the weekends. They have a ton of events for locals too!

Such a cute place. Coffee was excellent, they even gave me a free iced coffee refill! The food was delicious, and there was a pretty decent outdoor space as well. I will definitely return.

Big Bear is a wonderful, community centred cafe. The staff are kind and friendly and the food is delicious. The breakfast burrito and the bagels are great. And they serve Ceremony coffee :)

I do have one request though- please change the 12% service charge as it means a lot of mental gymnastics at the till when it comes to tipping. I do understand it's a dilemma for businesses, but honestly 20% would be easier.

But in general a wonderful place and I'm grateful it's in my neighborhood

Great breakfast sandwich. It usually comes on an English muffin but I got it on a bagel instead and it was really good. The chocolate bear paw was amazing! It was like a chocolate babka pastry and was so delicious!
