Just finished the Monuments by Moonlight tour and our guide was Byron - what an amazing experience we had! Byron is super knowledgeable AND so funny! He kept the entire group entertained the entire time with knowledge about so many sites around DC and even sang a few songs with us! He truly made the experience unforgettable and well worth every penny! I see other reviews and it sounds like all of the guides are great, but I don’t know how anyone could be better than Byron! The time seemed to go quick because we were having so much fun. Byron - you are 1000% in your element as a tour guide - keep up the great work!

This was a great tour. We had Smiley as a driver and he didn't disappoint. He was selected the best driver out of 75 others and you can tell why when on his tour. Smiley was very knowledgeable and I don't think we passed a building or monument he didn't address or tell you some history about. If Undercover Boss came to take a tour, this is they guy they select to teach all the drivers tour guides. The White House did select him to take out of country dignitaries when they wanted to take a trolley. Don't worry, he will show you.

The 6:30pm (last tour) tour was amazing and you get a few stops to get out and see MLK, the Marine Corps Memorial and Lincoln's memorial with the Vietnam memorial. The cost is a bit high at $64 for the two and half hour trip, but Smiley help make it worth it. It's the best way to see it all in a short trip to DC. The daytime hop on/off would be better if you have more time. We flew in just after 2:00pm and after and early dinner we took an ride-share to the trolley start. Get your souvenirs before the late tour as it will be closed when you get back.

We did the Monuments by moonlight tour with Smiley. He was the highlight of the tour! Very knowledgeable, witty and kept everyone entertained. Definitely worth the price! My son said the best part of our DC trip was Smiley!

Our experience with Old Town Trolley Tours in Washington, DC was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, the tour exceeded our expectations, and we can't recommend it enough.

One of the highlights of the tour was undoubtedly the knowledgeable and friendly tour guides. Their passion for the city and its history was evident in every word they spoke, making the experience not only informative but also incredibly engaging and entertaining.

Throughout the tour, we were treated to fascinating insights and stories about Washington, DC's iconic landmarks and historical sites. From the majestic monuments to the hidden gems tucked away in charming neighborhoods, the tour provided a comprehensive overview of the city's rich history and vibrant culture.

We particularly enjoyed the Monuments by Moonlight tour, which offered a unique and enchanting perspective of the city's most famous monuments illuminated against the night sky.

Additionally, we were impressed by the tour guides' ability to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the tour, even with children onboard. They skillfully managed to make sure everyone could hear their fascinating commentary by politely asking children to be quiet when necessary, ensuring that all guests could fully enjoy and appreciate the tour experience.

Overall, Old Town Trolley Tours provided an unforgettable way to experience Washington, DC. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime resident looking to rediscover the city's magic, this tour is a must-do. Thank you to the wonderful tour guides for making our experience truly memorable!

We took two tours while we were in town - the daytime hop on, hop off tour, and the "Monuments by Moonlight" tour. Both were thoroughly enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the friendly jokes and narration provided by tour hosts Sarge and Mr. Kelly. But the most notable part of our experience was how the staff went above and beyond for us - we got caught in traffic in the Uber on the way to the Welcome Center before the Moonlight tour, and missed the bus by 15 minutes. The staff at the Welcome Center loaded us into a van and drove us to the trolley's first stop so we could still join the tour and enjoy the remainder of the evening. Five star customer service; would highly recommend.

Well worth the money! Sooner Steve was an excellent tour guide and driver. Enough info to win a Trivial Pursuit game. 2.5 hours plus, great way to see a lot of the monuments when everything else is closed

First time visiting DC, and so glad we booked the Trolley Tour! I was able to enjoy sitting back and get photos without worrying about traffic. The drivers were all very good with their telling about sights and history. It was easy to hop off and back on with not a long wait. It was difficult to get good photos when the window plastic coverings were down. We sat in the back where they were rolled up.

The Monuments by Moonlight tour in DC was definitely worth it. Byron "The Entertainer" was an amazing guide. He made the tour so fun and interactive. He was very knowledgeable about the history, monuments and buildings around DC. He even had us singing some songs together. The tour was about 2 and 1/2 hours but went by so quickly. We had the opportunity to get off the trolley at 3 stops to see some of the Memorials up close. We definitely learned a lot of interesting facts on this tour. Would recommend getting there at least 20 minutes before departure time as line starts forming to board the trolley. Great night with an awesome tour guide and a great group of people on the trolley.

First visit to DC and the Trolley is the way to go for education of the area and all of the sites. Definitely add the trip to Arlington if you want to see everything and reduce a lot of walking. 5 stars to all of the guides and to John at the ticket station for recommendations resulting in a wonderful day!!

Wow! Got a free tour through my hotel. Drew was an excellent driver and guide. I highly recommend this if you only have a short amount of time to spend in DC. Was cool to be at some of the monuments in the dark too.

Be aware - the tour was almost 2.5 hours, alot longer than I expected.

MJ was a great tour guide.
Even my teenage son enjoyed it.
The trip was in an open air trolley, but there were 3 bus fulls of tours that night so other groups were in a fancier bus (get there early if you want that option, I think).
The tour started with a drive around the capital and east side of the Mall with commentary from the driver, then we had 3 stops for closer looks:
The first at the MLK Jr memorial & FDR memorial, with the Tidal basin view, about 25 minutes stop, the second at the Korean War memorial, Lincoln memorial (also best view of the Washington monument), and Vietnam war memorial, about 35 minutes. The third at the Iowo Jimo Marine War Memorial, with a drive along the Arlington cemetery, a quick stop, but a beautiful memorial, and something you wouldn't normally see unless you went out of your way.
A great tour to orient yourself to the city and see the most important sites.

Our tour guide, SMILEY, showed us an awesome time! It was so convenient to sit back and see the sights while getting an informative tour and never having to fight traffic. Smiley was comical and courteous. If ever you're in the area, book one of the tours with this company. The night tour we selected didn't give us the "hop on, hop off" option, but they did make 3 stops at well-known monuments for photo opportunities.

I had previously given this company a one star review due to their phone customer service. Nitiya from Old Towb Trolley tours contacted me and was able to help us rectify the issue. We ended taking a moonlight tour of the national Mall. We were on Smileys trolley. All I can say is they seriously need to give this man the biggest raise, and I hope he trains all of their trolley drivers!! He was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and just a funny guy! My kids said if we ever do a dc tour again we need to make sure we’re on Smileys bus! Such a great tour would recommend!

Fantastic experience. We started at the welcome center (Stop 1) and Patty was so informative and cheerful. Every trolley driver was knowledgeable and engaging. It was so convenient to hop and off as we wished all day. Great for a day when you want to give the feet a little break! I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed! There is a reason this tour has been consistently rated in the top 10.

Mr. History was awesome! I did the Moonlight Tour and was not disappointed. Plenty of time to take photos and look at the monuments. Mr. History gave great context to all the sites and made sure everyone was back on the bus before leaving any sites. I would highly recommend the Moonlight Tour! Great time and met some great people!

We did a night tour with Sasha and had a blast! Saw a variety of memorials at night which took about 2.5 hours. Sasha was very informative in an entertaining way... hopefully you're fortunate enough to get her as your tour guide when you book one. Highly recommend doing this on your first night in town as it will give you a "lay of the land" and allow you to form an itinerary around with places you might've otherwise missed.

There are around 15 stops and every 39 mins you will get the trolley. The drivers are very friendly and engaging guides. Especially batman. Cost effective to see the monuments around. But you might not be able to cover all the stops in one day if you hop on and off in evey stops. Instead you can take a scooter and roam around easily with the map. But it was a nice experience

This tour was amazing! The guide was full of knowledge. Don’t miss out. A 1,5 hour tour that goes by fast. We stopped off to see some very impressive and important monuments. I cannot say enough about the beautiful and well planned tour. It was a perfect experience. All the staff who work for this company are very friendly.

We had such a fantastic time! The toor guides/drivers who took us around gave us a good description and facts of all places that we pass. They are sooooo funny and kept us entertained all the way. They have a good fleet so never have to wait for a long time to get back in from a spot. The best bus tour we’ve had! Highly recommended.
