I was just out cashing in some cans. It's a thing I dread. Courtesy clerk Trent made it tolerable. He made sure we all had functional machines, smiled about it, checked back, gladly hand-counted the ones the machine didn't want to accept! Also, I started at another store and eventually got sick of going in and out to find help. I was about to give up for the day...

ALMOST lost my $1500 cellphone when clerk didn't pass it back to me from the basket. When asked about it everyone said nope, didn't see it, SO I CHECK THE BASKETS and SURE ENOUGH, there it was, stacked below four (4) other baskets along with my TicTacs? How do you forget "white" TicTacs, black phone I get, but white TicTacs?

REQUEST: Go slow, once I pass the checker the basket it's in their hands for phones, keys, id, credit card, all of it.

Nope... still SUPER slow checkers. I did verify they are alive though, so there's that.
Great news... they hired some checkers who have a pulse!! Got through in a reasonable time today. There's hope...nope...no hope they got slower still.
01/24 update. The checkers are alive again... let's hope this lasts

Place is clean. People are friendly and helpful. Spendy for certain items and selection is standard but not exceptional. I mean... who cares? Be nicer to the overworked staff who work for minimum wage. They work a difficult, thankless job. There is no excuse to leave spiteful reviews... unless its really funny

Employees are always nice and great customer service!

Good service. Nice employees. I've shopped here the majority of my life. Always fresh and if your not satisfied, I've never had a issue with returns. Some of the women who work there have been there for decades. That speaks volumes. Pharmacy seems alright and helpful. Some rude customers with the covid issues and Pharmacy staffing. Staff is going beyond what they should have to, to sort out a mess they didn't make.

Excellent store for meats & veggies. Clean & well stocked. Drove from Ontario Or & it was worth the drive.

After accidentally forgetting our phone at checkout during a road trip, the employees and manager at Safeway were incredibly kind and generously mailed the phone back to Vancouver for us, free of charge. We are deeply grateful.

Very nice grocery store and pharmacy. We got our flu shots and the person giving the shots was great. Didn't even feel it and arm was only sore for a day.

You have to enjoy every experience when you grocery shop in BC. The Stores are understaffed, stockholders $$ are more important. We are just Cattle to Cooperate. Someday those who show up everyday shorthanded& overworked will see a change in how these corporations operate

Haven’t seen a Safeway in a really long time! While we were here I was happy to go in and find my cake I usually can’t find elsewhere! Always good baking items

Everyone was very helpful. Store decorated for the holiday was a nice touch to the atmosphere.
Deli clerk & register clerk were considerate and friendly. Starbucks' staff gets an extra shout out, as they were informative and sweet.

Had everything I needed and at great prices compared to others my preferred place to shop.

Restroom available. No code needed. I stopped here for supplies before heading out to the Alvord Desert. Firewood $5.99 and a 2 gallon gas can $13.99. No self checkout. Express lane not open. Cashiers know almost everybody's business in Baker City lol.

It was there when we needed supplies. Nice staff, clean and we'll stocked store. The team here was friendly and it will be 100% shopped again by my family. Great job.

I come here for certain items if albertsons is out of a item I want anyways excellent service there....and the cashiers always treat me and my WHOLE FAMILY VERY GOOD AND they are so patient especially with my crazy kids lol

Love the people, always working hard to get you what you need, they just do it and don't ever give any grief about there job.

Dayvinee H. gave us exceptional service! We didn't realize we only had 7 days to fill out the survey. She went above and beyond to help us and she deserves 10 stars!

There was a nice young men in the deli that helped me I forgot his name but he was very pleasant and very polite.. When I go back to the deli I want him to do my order. If he is there I will Brandon the manager that he is very polite and very helpful.

Surprisingly the visit was fairly pleasant. Not crowded...very friendly staff. It's always clean.
