I have two children attending Manzano Day School, in first and fourth grades. Both have been there since they were in pre-kindergarten. What I love most about Manzano Day School is the balance my children have found between an academically challenging and nurturing environment. My husband and I both had high hopes for challenging academics at the school. We were initially sold on the small class sizes, which certainly makes it much easier for children to learn and for teachers to teach. My husband in particular feels that it does not matter how wonderful a teacher is, if she has too many children in her classroom, she will just not be able to teach effectively. So we initially came to Manzano Day School for the small class sizes, but in the years that our children have been there, have discovered that there is so much more than just that. Our children have been nurtured and loved since the beginning. The faculty at the school does a wonderful job of balancing challenging academics with love and nurture of the children. The small class sizes certainly help towards this, but truly it is the culture of the school which does a great thing by balancing these two most important components. I feel the faculty and staff at the school truly know our kids. I am so grateful to MDS for the wonderful education my children are receiving there, and the love I know their teachers have for them as individuals. Thank you Manzano Day School!

Manzano Day School has been an incredible educational experience for our daughter who is now in third grade. She loves going to school! My husband and brother-in-law both went to Manzano Day School in their youth, so putting our daughter in school here was an easy decision. Our daughter has been at Manzano from pre-k on. When we came to visit the school before she was accepted, some of the faculty remembered my husband. To me this speaks volumes and represents what a good work place the school is if the teachers are there for the majority or all of their teaching career and remember students from such a long time ago. The faculty is invested, experienced and professional. Most importantly, the campus is a happy place to be. From the faculty/staff to the parents and students, Manzano Day School provides an open, accepting, and diverse environment for all children to learn. I highly recommend Manzano Day School to anyone looking for excellence in elementary education and a joy in learning for their children!

My three sons attended Elementary School at Manzano Day School - two of them for their entire elementary school experience from K-5th grade. Each boy (and the three are very different) has been supported, nurtured and extended in ways that they each needed. All of their teachers were dedicated to their jobs, cared about the students and were willing to work for the best of each child. They are competent, professional and above all so nice. Manzano has felt like a family to our boys and I feel they have a solid and rigorous foundation of the content and skills that they need to succeed in their education as it continues. The co-curricular activities provide a nice balance and there is always a lot to keep them engaged and interested while still allowing them space to be kids.

Manzano Day School has long established itself as Albuquerque’s premier elementary school. One main ingredient behind its success is its attentive and highly qualified faculty. Our two children began Manzano Day School in pre-k, and year after year we have been thrilled with the teachers and staff who surround them. The faculty reflects the school’s values and mission, and collectively operates as a unified body providing consistent expectations and reinforcement. The Manzano Day School faculty not only prepares its students for academics beyond fifth grade, but more importantly, they provide a moral and ethical framework for the many years that follow.

We have had both of our daughters at Manzano Day School and have been a part of this amazing community for 8 years now. We couldn't be happier with the quality of eduction, the warmth and support of the teachers, and a community that has helped both my daughters and our family thrive. My girls are completely different little people, and Manzano has helped them to both find their best path forward. Our oldest daughter is now in 7th grade at Albuquerque Academy, and she left Manzano with excellent academics. More importantly, she was a confident, polite, graceful young student with the ability to speak to large audiences, create complex presentations, and problem solve. These skills are so important in success in all arenas, and Manzano helped to instill them in her. Now, our little one continues to adore her time in school and is also developing skills to help her succeed in the future. We have all made strong friendships and have learned so much from this wonderful community.

What a fabulous school and community. Manzano Day School is a challenging yet nurturing environment where the student to teacher ratio allows for any child to grow. A beautiful campus with amazing teachers. My kids have thrived at MDS and I love the parent community and involvement.

We have two children who started at Manzano Day School in Pre-Kindergarten and they are now in middle and high school. We loved the school for many reasons, but one of the best parts for us was the co-curriculars that the school has as part of their everyday curriculum. In addition to top notch academics, Manzano Day School has co-curricular classes in art, music, Spanish, P.E., technology, and library. Our kids got to make fused glass pieces in art, sing on the Popejoy stage with the NM Philharmonic, perform a musical on the Simms stage at Albuquerque Academy, and enjoy a couple of days exploring nature at Fenton Ranch, the school's environmental education campus located in the Jemez Mountains. We believe that it is important to help nurture well rounded children, and only Manzano Day School offers all of these amazing opportunities. If you haven't had a chance to look at it, you should!

We currently have a 1st and 4th grader at Manzano Day School and we could not be happier. It is an environment that truly strives to foster "Joy in Learning". My kids love the co-curriculars: Art, Music, Spanish, Computer, PE, Library, 21st Century Learning, Science. Not to mention the Fenton Ranch experience every year. This is a special school with amazing faculty and staff and a community of parents that are constantly working to improve our children's learning experience.
